So, fancy this on a stick:
I buy the physical PC release on release day, and what happens when I try to install? Read error! A quarter of the way through disc 2, the installation just stops. Well, drat. Back to the store and ask for new discs... aaaaaaaaaand some communication mishaps later, I return home with new shiny new discs. So, install once more, and... Read error! Same place, same disc number! Seriously, what are the odds?? Well, now what? The people at the store were a bit nicer than they had reason to be, so I'd feel a bit of a dick to go back and complain AGAIN... (But why they asked me to get an EA support ticket number is admittedly puzzling.)
Well, all I really wanted was to share my uncanny misfortune. Yes, I "can" download the game, but 24 Gb over a 260 kb/s line, though? Lurvely. (Want me to update this post when I finally have the whole thing installed and running?
... Pff, I bet Bioware'll have prepared some mighty patch by then, anyway, and then there's the voice pack... Heh, I'm not gonna get to play this game before the "Great Games" guarantee's expired!)
(So... I apparently have a spare disc 1, 3 and 4 that aren't of much use to anyone. If anyone else has trouble with either of those discs, preferrably in the general vicinity of Sweden (because postal services and fragile stuff), we might be able to help each other out. Alternatively, I'd be very happy to borrow a working disc 2 for about 10 minutes...)
