Preference, besides Amazon offers "Release Date Delivery Guarantee" so I'm good, I got Dragon Age CE from amazon a day early, amazon never dissapoints IMO.
My Mass Effect nerdishness took me over and I have 2 pre-orders: 1 ME2 CE (360) Amazon.com, 1 ME2 SE (360) Gamestop, so I could get all the bonuses, so in the extremely slim chance UPS doesnt deliver on 26th from Amazon, I'm set with going up the road to Gamestop(only one I'll shop from because it still has some of the guys from when it was EB before GS bought the chain out, personally I hate Gamestop as a company).

K, I'm a little annoyed. I didn't have the option of free release day delivery at amazon. So, I picked the super saver delivery. My status estimates the shipping date to be February 1st. It is supposed to be delivered by the 8th. Is it too much to ask if the game is at least shipped on the release day?
That's why you don't order Super Saver, if you want something really badly.
Super Saver basically adds 2-3 days to the time. It's not 'time critical' because you're getting it free. I get SS all the time for other stuff, but when full on release date delivery for ME2.
Basically, 3 days after 26th is a Saturday. So jump to Monday, and hey, it's February 1.

It's not free, but it's way cheaper than "One Day" Shipping, my release date delivery cost like 4-5 bucks I think.
When did you pre-order? I think you have a window in which the release date deliv option is available.

It might have something to do with how far you live from an Amazon shipping center. Mine still hasn't shipped yet but I expect it to tonight. Usually UPS come around 5pm for me.

Yeah I forgot about that, I thought it was lower 48 though, I guess if you live in BFE then the option may not be available, yeah I'm about 10 mins from the airport where UPS Main is in my area(Charlotte, NC), UPS usually delivs around 2-3pm.

I always use Super Saver Shipping (I'm cheap). Although the shipping date says Feb 1st on my order, it has already changed to Shipping Soon, which usually means its going out that day. Amazon shipping estimates, particularly for preorder items, are usually wrong. There's some sort of algorithm that is like add 1 week to the estimate for Super Saver Shipping that never really seems to come into play when they actually ship it. If I were a cynical person I'd say Amazon does it to scare people into upgrading their shipping.
Even with Super Saver Shipping I got Dragon Age on the day or release, but in that case it shipped on Sunday, so I'm thinking I'll probably get ME2 on Wednesday.

Nah. They do it 'cause it /might/, really. SS shipping is less priority, so if they're particularly busy, it won't get shipped that day. And so on.
You're right though, usually it doesn't matter. But especially around Christmas and some other holidays, it makes a major difference.
(I usually use Super Saver, too. I'm cheap, too!)

... I ship mine because I order from amazon frequently and have a Prime membership. It's just easier for me, I don't have to pay an additional change for shipping each item, and I get it quick, and right to my house so I don't have to drive anywhere. When I get home from work tomorrow it will be there ready for me to play.

Do you have relase day or one day shipping? I may not be shipped yet but at least mine says 28th release and I took one day shipping
I used SS shipping.
I can still change that option even now, but I'll just be patient...

Why ship?
Free "release date delivery", no tax. UPS delivers to my house @ 2pm, and I get off work at 4pm - so I save at least $7 in taxes just by having it shipped to my house. I work that day, so it saves me the hassle of having to drive to the store when I get off. The game will be waiting at my house after I get off a hard days work
Would you mind if I went over and played your ME2 until you got home from work?
