Off-topic posts are the only thing keeping this silly thread bumped.

I'm ashamed of myself.

This glorious thread does not require 'bumps'. Suggestion has been posted. Now it is up to BioWare.

rightly so

I'm kind of worried that the deliberate subtext of my earlier post seems to have gone over a lot of people's heads.

I'm all for a straight female elf, since there hasn't been one yet. And as long as there's options to make up for a race gate, I'd be fine with that too. But I've never been a fan of DA'S male elves, so it won't phase me if it never happens.

I know only about one time when they have said it. Of course, nobody prevents BioWare from using this suggestion in the next installment.

I prefer straight character. Other combination than straight would imply romantic union in non straight 'romance'. I'm speaking about arranged marriage that would secure the purity of lineage. Merrill (DAII) speaks about importance of elf-elf unions. Specific? Sure. Solas is a fine example of specific.

But Solas isn't interested in making babies. He does not care if your character is bisexual or straight. He has a good reason for his specific standards (which doesn't involve children or your sexual orientation).

Off topic and trolling.

Agreed no DLC party members are possible, but there could be a DLC love interest.

I'm sorry but there is no 'but' here for me. Everybody has their preferences. I'm interested in the straight only 'romance' and arranged marriage.

But they've already said they're not going to.

I'm a little bit-a lot disappointed with the romance options for the Male Elf Inquisitor. Considering importance of their same race breeding, I would like to stay pure to 'my' people' traditions and keep my line crystal clear. While Cassandra is definately a charming person, her womb can offer me only human heirs. Please, consider it for the future content: A Female Elf Companion that would be interested only in the Male Elves.

If this comes to pass, I hope your breeding mare for "Elven Glory!" has a square/roundish face. :) Then, you can have pure bred evil elven cheese wheel babies.

We're not getting any DLC companions - well, not permanent ones, there might be some temporary ones like Tallis. They're too difficult to integrate into the story if they're not planned from the beginning. I can't see BioWare calling all the voice actors back into the studio to record dialogue with a new character.

I think 'a female elf who's romanceable by male elves' is a reasonable thing to request for the next game, just like 'a romanceable dwarf' or 'a gay knight in shining armour.' Although I still don't see why she has to be straight, and I think the chances of the protagonist ever getting canonical offspring in future games is close to nil.

When I read these posts, I imagine a tiny, imperious figure in enormous, absurdly ornamented robes and a ridiculous, towering headdress clapping his hands together twice in quick succession and declaring "I wish to breed!" while everyone else in the room snickers behind their hands.

Good luck with that.

It is rude of you to refer to my suggested and potential elvhen bride as 'mare'. You are such a meanie.

It lacks levitation and big, soft pillow. Lord Byzantinus, I shall become a new Sith Emperor, for to me belong all words and subjects of my breeding are spoken for!

Straight female elf. This is what this game needs.

Every time I read your posts i feel they are on so many levels of wrong I always want to say something snarky, but your manner to express is so polite that snark just doesnt come. So bravo. :D

If you humor me, oh great one, what makes you think that the elf you desire will actually look at you? You seemed to headcannon your Inquisitor as a superior being among elves interested in preserving elven culture. However according to the narrative the PC is nothing more than a random grunt that happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and got the mark by pure accident. Furthermore there is one human character that can be equated to the elf you want - Vivienne. Not saying she is interested in breeding, but rather in power. She is cold and calculating in her actions, and acts on no emotions. And she does not consider the Inquisitor to be important to be a romance, much less a marriage material. So what makes you think an elf supremacist you want will want you? If anything I see such person dumping you at the first opportunity for a greater gain.

@LP

Gratitude.

Very often accidents shape nobility (elvhen mage is sent as spy, he is not just a grunt). What matters is what happend after the mark sunk into the flesh. I tell you, my Inquisitor will be the most wanted party to breed with. Elvhen families won't stop sending proposals. I do not expect from my bride in making to be as cold as ruthless as yours truly, obedient and willing to carry elvhen traditions is fine with me. There is no need for her to show any sympathy towards my character. I would prefer it to be arranged marriage. In fact, I would not mind a little bit of story twist with her being sweet on some other, less important elf from a good family but willing(optionally being forced, that is talked into) to marry my character, for the greater good, purity and glory . I would gladly extinguish her silly passions and whims. I can imagine dialogue option where you present her with fingers of the mentioned elf 'carass them if you wish, my sweet wife'

Anyway, I'm suggesting it to be written in my favour. There is really no need to think 'what if'. She would be mine and that is it.

I'm not going to say that it's as creepy as the Tali sweat stuff.  But I'm also not going to say that the way that this particular poster phrases his request and his opinions of said 'straight female elf's' value and purpose isn't almost as creepy.

It's not the request (a straight female elf romance in the future since there's never been one in the series); it's the way that it's phrased that skeeves me out a bit.

It is the truth. There is nothing extraordinary, that is 'creepy' about the word 'womb'. I'm a kind Lord, here, PG oriented:

You know, I kind of like the notion of a "romance" being an arranged marriage, it would be something new and unique.

The part where you mention her being forced into it and presenting her with the cut-off fingers of her other love interest as "motivation", not so much. That's just veering into creepy and wrong, tbh.

It's the attitude, not the word. Picture yourself a thread in which a poster asks for a heterosexual male elf companion for their female elf, so he can serve as a sperm donor in the sacred duty of maintaining the purity of elf race.

Oh, really? Then you should have seen his other thread, where he asked for much the same but also explained what kind of woman he likes: shy, demure, submissive. Probably fertile, too. And 100% straight, none of this bi business. Unless it's Merrill, because... reasons.

There's a reason why he blocks people from searching his content. ;)

People are products of their cultures. In many cultures, especially in Asian countries, it's a trait to be desired for women, even mother themselves reprimand their daughters for not acting in such manners. Some of these countries, a woman's worth may even tie to her virginity. From my perspective, I disagree with these views, but it's not a stretch as to why or how people would hold such view.

With that in mind, I'm not sure why she couldn't be bisexual. Maybe some people just want to maintain the status quo by having more options for straight males.

Yes, it would. Such 'romances' allow to engage in a far more interesting chains of events than usual mental disturbances coming from the 'love'. There is already such option in one of the modern game: Divinity: Dragon Commander.

I don't agree that it is wrong.

I would be fine with it if the mentioned female character would enter marriage with the donor.

It is a manipulation. I did not know about Merrill's non straight attitude before last year's december. Now that I know of it, I'm not happy with it but as I have said, it is a lesser evil. I won't revert the time.

No, actually it is not a reason. I like privacy, I block my 'content' whenever I appear on social media platforms. I don't mind people reading my opinions, they are glorious and should be at least emulated.
