If I read this thread in the context of these posts... "glorious" is not what comes to mind.
The point was viewing a person as little more than just a tool to create oneself an offspring can squick people out as a very egotistical attitude. Some men appear to have trouble empathizing with that until they picture themselves being viewed as nothing but the sperm and/or money provider so I guess it was worth a try, even if it ultimately failed.I would be fine with it if the mentioned female character would enter marriage with the donor.

Actually, the forced part is an optional version. Mainstream is that she willingly enters arranged marriage. I see nothing about slavery in the 'forced' option as I have stated, she would be talked into it: persuaded to drop naivete of ill ridden romance and choose a far more appriopriate suitor. Purity above all else.

I disagree. Thedas should belong to Elvhes again- this is how I wish to see it. Only union between elf and elf results in elf offspring. Breeding is of high importance and I would prefer to receive a focused straight female elf character. In the future, please, try to refrain from name calling.
