For those that played thorugh the game. how powerful would you say Corypheus is and how great a threat is he for the land. What would happen if he wasn't stopped?

Isn't the whole sequence in Redcliffe with time travel an example of what would happen if he isn't stopped?

Actually, the time travel part made me believe an Old God was the Elder One. You hear a dragon come and they say the Elder One has arrived.

Fun Fact.
If your whole party dies in any of the main missions, there's a little blurb on the continue screen that tells you what happened because you died at that point of the story.
It's spiffy!

Magister Alexius, intending to kill the Inquisitor, sends the Inquisitor and Dorian one year in to the future in a timeline where the Inquisitor was never there to disrupt the ritual at the conclave. Corypheus has total domination over Thedas.

What has happened to Thedas exactly. Has the people been enslaved in the same way that we saw visions of in Lord Of The Ring movies if Sauron wasn't stopped?

Corypheus raised a massive horde of demons and decimated the armies of Thedas, the Breach can be seen extremely close no matter where you are, and it even seems to be sucking parts of the world into it.

The breach consumes almost the entire sky.
Rifts and demons are spawning all over the place creating a masive demon army.

Any force capable of fighting him has been crushed.

The empress was killed and Orlais was laid to waste.

Even Alexius locked himself away, trying to hide from Corypheus.

Hard to say exactly, the player doesn't leave the castle. However, I observed the following:

• The sky was greenish (i.e. the breach was a global phenomena), and breach portals were appearing all over the place. Also, physical objects were floating in the sky such as parts of the ceiling, and maybe even chunks of buildings. In effect, reality had been torn asunder.
• Demon armies were claimed to have conquered the land
• Red Lyrium was growing/"infecting" living people, and they were being "mined" for the stuff.

It was general "very bad things ™."

Well, not everywhere everywhere. They still only occur near the rifts mainly. Alot of it is fighting Venatori soldiers too.

 

Its implied though that the countryside in general is swarming with demons.

Also, if you were to draw parallel to christianity who would you say would be similar/equal to Corypheus in christianity. In terms of power and influence and his whole persona?

It takes place primarily within Redcliffe Castle so you don't actually see much of this stuff.
