Not trying to rain on your parade but do you really like the questing? I'm very disappointed by this game, if every RPG were like it I would be very sad. The quests are very simple and boring.

I responded to you in a different thread, but yes, many people love this questing. It is unfortunate you don't!

Dude! Did you not know you could move on? I got about 17, and I thought I was exploring a lot.

Some guy on reddit got 80 before going to Val Royeaux

I wouldn't have thought that was possible. I went there as soon as I could I wanted Vivienne and Sara.  After that I headed for the Storm Coast. I'm just going back to the Hinterlands. I've played about 16 hours. 6 hours EAA and 10 hours today.

I'm not even far into the game - hell I just finished "Hushed Whispers" and I must say, that it completely blown me away.

This quest is crazy good - the events, the writing, the boss battle...and it's ending. It was very innovative and really, really interesting.

A real quality, especially compared to quite linear* and predictable quests in DA2 and even DA:O. During the entire mission I really wasn't sure what's waiting behind the corner. If more main quests are as good as this... count me in.

*By linear I mean here that it was a straight, predictable path from A to B, where most of the time you knew what to expect.

I cannot wait for the next playthrough, because I'm interested in how the Templar alternative looks like.

I don't think I've ever encountered a more addicting game.

I've been addicted to particular games before, don't get me wrong. But it's often out of some personal bias. I played almost nothing but Resident Evil 5 for close to a year. That doesn't mean much aside from the fact that I'm a shameless Resident Evil fan. This game, however, has all the breadth and expanse of Skyrim-- but with the charm, wit and character of Bioware games. I still haven't completed the Hinterlands, nor have I opened a good four or five other areas, and I'm getting close to 50hrs in. I'm just having too much fun!

This is what a Dragon Age game can be when it actually has a budget. There may be subjective flaws for some players; no game is 100% perfect. But I can't imagine a better final product if I tried.

Thank you, EA and Bioware. This is now easily my favorite game on this generation of consoles. No hesitation.

(...and I haven't even halfway completed it yet!)

They've tied even the minor fetch quests to achieving things for the inquisition. Anything that felt too minor for my attention didn't get done. There is still plenry of cool stuff to do.

Honestly, when I think of some of the pointless fetch quests I've done in mmo's and even Skyrim, i really don't see any problem with these.

I guess if you get a glitch and bug free experience that doesn´t make you restart the game hours in, it´s a good game. Also having a controller for the PC-Version helps.

This is EVERYTHING DA2 should've been.

The amount of game content in DA:I makes me wonder how I paid $60 for DA2.

The amount of game content in DA:I makes me wonder how I paid $60 for DA2.

The difference comes in budget and development time. DAII had about 14 months of development time while working on a rushed schedule and a still-in-development graphical engine. DA:I had over twice that time while using an already established engine from DICE. They're hardly even comparable products.

But the way the events of the plot have turned out so far (I'm about halfway through the main plot, I think), I seriously think that Hawke was meant to be the "inquisitor" in this game, and they had to replace her (or him) entirely after the backlash DAII received. I think developing DA:I with DICE's engine on next-gen consoles was the plan all along, and why DAII was rushed out so quickly to afford that time. It sucks, but we paid for a beta product meant to fund Bioware while working on the next, bigger thing.

I'm about 12 hours in. I'm still in the Hinterlands, the game is definitely ambitious. Bioware's first ever open world is a massive success. There is so much to do. The great thing I feel in this game is that I feel like I'm accomplishing things for the inquisition just doing mundane chores. There are rewards and benefits that help the cause. It's a bit overwhelming at times because I'm definitely being sidetracked a lot. And the inquisitor is bad ass right from the start. No wearing rags and building your name, people know you, like you, or hate you. It's so satisfying.

Holy crap! I'm a little over 40 hours in, no spoilers, but the end of the first act, just wow! Got goosebumps, chills, you name it. Bioware can really tell a story. Never experienced anything like it in a video game. Awesome.

Though there are some things I really wish were done better (pc controls in particular), this game has had me in tears and great bouts of laughter more than any game to date.

The overwhelming grand scale and huge variety in characters and environments is unsurpassed in my experience.

I'm looking forward to PC improvements while I explore this jewel of a game.

The story quest just after is also really good. I'll let you discover, but let's just say you will probably want to crack some skulls and/or fist-bump at some point during or after it.

It's definitely not without its flaws (controls and stutter!) but I have to say the environments... WOW. They are probably the best I've seen in a game, even better than Skyrim. Seriously, some of the landscapes and dungeons are indescribably breathtaking. Not just the first few areas like the Hinterlands and Storm Coast... some of the later areas... so amazing.

Haha, I think I'm in the minority at the moment.  There is something about it or perhaps how it is presented I'm just not connecting with, although perhaps I just need to get further into the game for it to grab me?  So far I'm up to the part where you essentially choose between the mages and templars, I'm taking a break while I decide who I want to go with.

I think my major gripe at the moment are with the side quests, while fetch quests are fine I was also hoping for side quests where you interacted with the people, discussed an outcome or chose one based on your characters whims.  Little quests where you just stop and talk with the villagers and resolve their problems.  I have seen almost no quests like that so far and those were some of my favourite things in past DA games, those little moments.  That could change as I progress though, we'll see.

Visually the environments are gorgeous though and the characters are fairly interesting when you do get to interact with them.  My favourite companion so far has to be Solas, which I did not see coming lol.  Hopefully for my own sake, the rest of it picks up as I go along....

I'm only about 8 hours in and I'm very impressed. For a newcomer the structure of the game with the War Table and unlocking locations is a bit odd. I'd rather just be able to explore everywhere, but in general its the most addicted I've been since Skyrim :-). Great game so far....obviously a long way to go :-)

As much as I have loved other games, I have never been so enthralled with one like I am with this one. I've played nearly 17 hours and feel like I've barely scratched the surface, the writing is spectacular and it looks gorgeous! Even all the side quests (which can annoy me in other games) seem to have relevance and actually make sense for my Inquisitor to be involved. Seriously, the best game I've ever played, and I loved Origins.

I'm still in the first 20 hours 'grinding' stage of the game and I have to say... who are these people who are giving the game 0 out of 10? Are they playing the same game I am?? lol I just wish I could close doors after I leave a building or was I born in a field???

Loving the game so far. Easily 10/10 for me.

- Love the side questing

- Crafting system is great

- Like the way that you have to gather everything that you need in order to craft

- Combat feels good

- Open world looks amazing

- Classes feel actually very different

- Companions are interesting

- The Keep feature is a great feature.

Perhaps the most amazing thing about this game is that, when I thought I was winding up Act 1 with one awesome experience after another, I finally realized that the game was just beginning.  Also, very brave storytelling move with the singing.  That could have come off as corny.  But instead it was epic and touching.

I also liked how after doing one of sidequests, I was able to recruit a person into the Inquisition (gaining a recruit and increasing power) because of an Inqusiition perk I had - while a Let's Player I watched was unable to recruit her.

There were also options for party member to intervene and a condition fullfilled if you did one of the main quests, progressing the story.
