Am I extremely unlucky here, or is there a bug. I've played a lot of DAMP matches, but every time I pick up a blue item from a chest, I soon get disconnected and lose the blue item.
It's not my network connection, I know that much.
Anyone else experiencing this?
You get the gold and items from a run no matter what. Only thing you do lose out on is EXP. I know this for a fact because I too have experienced the same far too many times.
Don't know what to tell you, but I don't.
In the second to last instance I was a lvl 1 class I had just crafted, Alchemist. When I was kicked back to the main MP screen, my character had 0 XP, my gold hadn't gone up and there sure wasn't any shiny new blue items in my inventory.
This is on PC by the way.

This is exactly what ive experienced.
For sure u keep the drops + gold from runs where u dc. I got a purple off one of the events and was crying cuz i dced. later when i was looking at my inventory i had a random purple. There is no new item notification on the items u get when u dc.
Will that just makes me even sadder. I definitely didn't get the blues later.

You gold and item pickups while in game happen immediately on the server so that if you ever get disconnected or leave game for any reason you will still have these items. XP / challenge progress on the other hand will not be saved if you are dropped from a game. If you can reconnect to the game before your party reaches the next checkpoint however, your XP / Challenge progress will be saved.
You may think you didn't get your blues because you were looking for them in weapons but remember that accessories ( like amulets ), upgrades ( like runes ) can also be blue so check those categories.
