I'm a PC gamer, and I have come at this series from the perspective of loving the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games - I was OK with Origins, too.
I'd like to know if anyone has the time to tell me:
1. Is there squad-based tactical gameplay in this game?
2. Can the overhead tactical camera be used throughout the game? (Can you always pan out and see all enemies?)
3. Can the game be driven with Infinity-style mouse controls, that is, you move your character around by clicking on the area/object they are to walk to, attack etc., rather than directly pressing direction buttons to move your character etc.
4. Does the game have queuable behaviours (so like the tactics system from DA:O if you remember it)
5. Is there still the DPS/Tank/Healer thing going on?
6. I remember talk of armour improvements, is the armour system more intricate and variable now?
7. Your own opinions, no need to "prove" anything, I'm just interested in how things strike you:
How is the encounter design?
How is the writing?
If you take the time to respond in good faith, you're a buddy and a pal, and thanks.
