Hi, i just started playiing the game. Completed the prologue as a warrior main character.

I had to restart the final part twice because my character had the focus of the boss and kept getting interupted trying to remove his guard by interacting with the rift.

Is this something used throughout the game, i was thinking of remmaking him as a mage or rogue as even in the storyline atleast so far he seems less of a leader/authoritive figure (champion as referred to in da2). In the last 2 games my first(and main) playthrough was as a warrior though.

Are there a lot of rifts to close, you're asking? Oh my, good heavens, yes. They're everywhere. And they are not all the same level. You'll encounter some that seem easy as pie, and others that kill everyone in just seconds. They are a set level, so if you happen upon a level 12 rift, and you're only level 4...well, you can see where that will go.

As for that first rift, that happened to my husband, too. I had an easy time of it with my mage, but he had a more difficult time with his 2-handed warrior Qunari. He said his mistake was focusing on the boss, instead of paying attention to the rift/closing it. He tried it a second time, and let his companions mess with the enemies, and he helped when he could, but taking down the rift was the priority. He did just fine the second time.

Don't give up on the character you made. You'll get the hang of it. :)

Too much. So many that it gets boring.
