if you are still missing 8 shards then you might have missed a couple of occularums,

here is the link to a site that has them all marked on their respective zone maps.

http://game-maps,com...Inquisition.asp

There's a typo in that link, a comma instead of a period, this will get you there:

.

HOLY CRAP I FINALLY FOUND THE MISSING OCULARUMS. THEY WERE IN THE HISSING WASTES THIS WHOLE TIME.

I'm such an idiot. -.-; Crisis averted.

Sorry for the comma/period typo. My hands are really bad as far as movement and tactile functions.

So… if I collected too many shards before going to forbidden oasis, I'm screwed, right? Bummer. I have every shard in every region (at least my journal says so, don't know if there's more than the journal says), but I'm at 5/18 shards at the last door on fire resistance. I already beat the game and did most everything else. I guess that's it then, huh? Oh well, no fire resistance final door for me (and no keymaster trophy for a long while as I'm not going to that much effort collecting all over again from the start of the game any time soon)  :( It frustrates me that it didn't start counting, apparently, until after I got to forbidden oasis or whatever you guys are saying.

I think you can use shards you've picked up prior to oasis, really nobody would ever do the quest otherwise since you have those in Hinterlands

I'm just confused where to get more shards after you have every shard in all the regions in the game. IDK, maybe I missed a region… I'll check later, again.

If you still see a ocularum icon in any map, that means you didn't use it or didn't spot the total number of shards you should. Checking journal entries also help.

I've scoured every region available and I'm still missing 6 shards to open the final spirit door. I've unlocked the others already.

just finished the whole game, checked every map (unlocked every map available) when't thru every map and can't find any more occularium(spelling???) yet I am missing 6 shards as well. Bugged for sure and very frustrating.

EDIT, after finishing the game and did some more research, and finally found a missed occularium(spelling??) that I overlooked in Emerald Grove [damn that fog of war](found a post about another player who like me was missing 6 shards) and completed the mission. Overall a big waste of time IMHO, a massive search resulting in little reward.

Found where those shards were! Wooo! I hadn't started the quest for finding them in Emprise du Lion region, so that's why they weren't in the journal! :D

Check your Inventory under 'Collections'. You can see if you have collected all shards on a map.

It says f.x. Hinterlands 17/22. That means you are missing 5 shards of 22 total in this area (and probably one ocularum).

The Hinterlands - 22 Shards
The Outskirts: 4
Lake Luthias: 4
Redcliffe Farms: 5
Grand Forest Villa: 5
Lady Shayna’s Valley: 4

The Storm Coast - 13 Shards
Storm’s Solitude: 3
Morrin’s Outlook: 3
Waterfall Cave: 3
Driftwood Margin: 4

Forbidden Oasis - 15 Shards
Desert Edge: 5
Alres Peak: 5
Solasan: 2
Upper Walkway: 3

The Western Approach - 14 Shards
Giant’s Staircase: 3
Dustytop Fort: 3
The Canyons: 3
Echoback Canyon: 3
Old Prison Road: 3

The Exalted Plains - 16 Shards
Halin’Sulahn: 6
Eastern Ramparts: 5
Riel: 5

The Emerald Graves - 13 Shards
Great Bear Cove: 7
Gracevine: 6

Emprise du Lion - 13 Shards
Tower of Bone: 6
Judicael’s Ring: 7

The Hissing Wastes - 8 Shards
Rock Top Ridge: 1
Sunstop Mountains: 3
The sand Crags: 2
The Cove: 2

None: Crestwood, Haven, Skyhold, The Fallow Mire, Val Royeaux, The Arbor Wilds, Temple of Mythal  + all other special/seperate quest locations

The Temple Of Pride in the Forbidden Oasis

You need a total of 114 shards to complete the quest.
6 shards is needed to open the very first door, the entrance to the temple. Inside the temple you will need more shards to open the doors to the following:

The Spirit Calmed: 3 doors
The Cold Endured :3 doors
The Fire Captured: 3 doors

All the first doors requires 6 shards.

All the second doors requires 12 shards.

All the third and last doors requires 18 shards.
Means you need 36 shards for each room downstairs.
The last door on the main floor (electricity) opens when you have finished the last room down stairs. No shards needed.

In each room there is a coffin. When you open and loot them completely they give you:

Every first room:: 4 resistance points + 7% Resist Belt

Every second room: 6 resistance points + 15% Resist Belt

Every third room: 10 resistance points + 30% Resist Belt

The coffins also gives you essence, runes and a little coin. Sometimes a power amulet.

If you chose to farm items instead the coffins will not give you any resistance point. It is only when you EMPTY them completely! So, chose carefully what you want

You end up with +20% fire, cold, spirit and electrical resistance when all doors are opened and all coffins looted entirely.

for such an epic quest, covering most of the area's and requiring significant time and effort to achieve the rewards are disappointing. But that could be said about most of the quests in Inquisition. For me the constant gathering of herbs is infantile and hardly hero worthy.

I'm sure nobody would go to an movie about a hero alchemist where the protagonist spent half the film picking herbs. So many people want the game to have the same suspension of disbelief as a movie. Movies cost at least 10 million to make and last two hours. You do get a proper hero tho

I like the shards thing, opening the rooms was fun enough. A novel approach to door-monster-treasure, but how often is door-monster-treasure ever that good? I suppose we need better treasure, then tougher villains to use the better treasure on.

Perks are good, I like those. I got it, door-monster-perks

NateBateN87 scroll up and check out Mushashi's post. If you are not able to open all the doors then you have missed some shards, probably from an overlooked occularum,

I've ran into the same issue Nate ran into, and I have 100% of all the shards. I have no more to get but the game says I need 13 more for the last door.

If you are sure that you have collected all shards in all regions and the door won't let you in sounds like a bug to me.

If you look in your journal under Collections you can see if you have them all.

As far as I know the Forbidden Oasis quest automatically starts when you pick up the very first shard.

You might have a corrupt savegame?

Figured it out actually, missed all the ones in Emerald Graves even though I did every quest and everything else in there. Not a glitch, just somehow never came across any of the ocularums in there so it never started tracking in my collections tab (it look like only one ocularum even popped up on my map). The 13 in there are equal to the last door.

I've done it every playthrough. I pick up ONE shard in the Hinterlands to unlock the wartable mission to get the Oasis to begin with then, head to the temple, check the door, go get the other 5 I need to get in, pick up the quests for the 3 doors, then, go get the rest of the shards - all of them. Come back, open doors and, done.

It does seem to sound like the biggest problem here is missing ocularum in one or more places.  Or possibly missing a zone or the like. Not truly a bug.

I agree with all of you who think there is a Forbidden Oasis shard bug. I just got my 15/15 shard in FO and received a message on the screen that I have all the shards I need and I should go to open the last door. But when I try to open that door it says I don't have enough shards!!!

When I look under Journal>Collections>Shards it reads that I have 15/15 shards for "Shards in the Oasis." But when I look at Journal>Current Quests>Forbidden Oasis>The Spirit Calmed it shows that I only have 3/18 shards collected?!?!

So, to open the final door I need to get FIFTEEN MORE shards? Okay, then why did the game tell me that I had gotten all the shards I needed to open the final door???

Forgot to mention, I'm playing on Xbox 360.

It makes no sense! Frustrated.

"Shards in the Oasis" just means you found all the shards in the Forbidden Oasis.   All the shards you find in all the areas of the map (Emerald Graves, Exalted Plains, Storm Coast, Hinterlands, Hissing Wastes and the Western Approach) are collectively the shards you use on the doors.

When you approach a door then it either lets you in using your collective shards (it does not matter where the shard was collected) or it tells you how many more shards you need (again, these are from your collective shards and it does not matter where you find them).

At my stage in my current game every time I find a shard it tells me that I can open a cold door, I need x many for a fire door and I need x many for a spirit door.  If I have the 6 or whatever for the cold door and use it there then I cannot use those same 6 on the fire or spirit door so those numbers change.

Why does a door in the Forbidden Oasis require a shard from a different section of the game??

Thanks for your response but it still doesn't explain why the game would tell me I can now go open "...the final door" after getting 15 of 15 shards but then when I get to that door it tells me I don't have enough shards. If this is not a bug, it certainly is a very poorly implemented game feature!

Origin needs to explain what is going on.

No the game says that you have collected 15 of 15 shard in Forbidden Oasis. You used some to open other doors so, have 3 shards left. Now you need shards from other areas to open more doors.

I'm having trouble with the shards as well. According to my journal I'm missing 4 shards and all of them are on the Storm Coast. However, I have already filled in the entire map of the Storm Coast and have visited and used all the occulara in the region. I went back to double check just to make sure I didn't miss anything and all the occulara say 0/0 to find and there are no missing occulara anywhere in this area yet my journal insists that there are 4 missing shards here. Any adivse would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

      Ryu

If you make Shards On the Coast active, it will show you where you forgot to pick them up. You did get the ones in the river cave right?
