i'm having the same issue on PS4. i looked above and there doesn't seem to be anything there. in fact, it looks as though you can see an outline of the shard glowing with nothing there, and right next to it is the blue marker. so... i think it's a bug.

I do not know whether it will matter in the long run as the three pages of comments here seems to say there will be plenty of shards in the end to finish the quest, but there is a shard in the Exalted Plains that is sitting on a broken rooftop that I have tried countless times at this point in my journey as Inquisitor... and I cannot figure out how to get up on that bloody roof !

Please forgive my sort of cursing there (depending where you are from whether that is cursing). I am sooo put out that it is so difficult to move pixels with such refinement ***sighs and sobbing

Any hints to how to climb or jump with more finesse` would be GREATLY welcomed.

I, too, appreciate the loot so far from the Forbidden Oasis shard/tomb quest.... quite a bit of coin so I can keep buying influence points..so I can keep obtaining Inquisition perks.... and even though I am level 22 now, decent combat with the spook in the tomb.

In the Exalted Plains there are several of these small frustrating roof tests.

 

The shard on the roof is tricky. The only way I got it was commanding my team to stay put and make space. Then run and jump while you focus directly on a chosen point so you won't fall off. It is possible but the margin is very narrow. You can't get it if you think logical. You have to feel it. Be one with what you see.

Keep trying is all I can advise.

I can imagine it is controller wise different weather you're on a console or PC?

I played Unreal Tournament Assualt  in a clan  for about 11 years. It taught me how to jump to tricky places. The idea hasn't changed much. Only the graphics are nicer today.

I always keep Forbidden Oasis as a last area before the final quest xD I only go there when I already have all the other shards from everywhere else, so I don't have to travel a million times

Some of those roof locations are near impossible on PC with KB+M, yes can be done but only if you have lightning reflexes and, have done enough trial and error that it's second nature as to when to jump, stop, jump twice, etc... Makes getting to that tower to in WA look like a stroll on flat ground.

I'm having this issue as well. I'm on the very last door in the fire room and I collected all of the shards in all the areas and it won't let me open the LAST door.
