This Essentially is the Third Time

This is essentially the third time, I have started a new game with my main character Carrion because every time, there is something wrong with him.

Elves are the only male character that I blend tattoo and makeup coloring. Humans I do not, human males do not deserve makeup.

Beside that though Carrion is a male dalish elf. And every time there is something wrong with him. I essentially been playing the first version forever when I decide there is something off about him, I played for a while with the first version. I put to much blush on him on accident. Third version I am still on Act 1, but recruited Cole, Sera, and Vivienne, but since I have been playing something been bothering me the whole entire time with his makeup and hair.

And yes, this is important, because I'm looking at my character throughout the whole entire game and I can't bother to stand and look at his flaws and issues. That and the second version of Carrion's makeup was also to intense.

Now I'm staring at my third version of Carrion and I hope third time is a charm. I chose a hair I like, I fixed the issues with his makeup that were problems with his first and second version. I fixed his tattoos, his hair problem.

Now I am sitting at the CC menu staring at my new hair choice and really considering is this the right one. I love it in CC, but when it comes to in game, in game cutscene what looked great in CC looks like trash in the cutscenes and in game.

Aauu3uuu

To accept this hair or not.

Anyone also had basically to restart a bajillion times till you got the amount of flaws you want perfect and the amount of flawlessness perfect?

Thing is this hair and those tattoos make him look like a way better realistic Fenris, lol.

Ugh *stares at hair like a moth to a flame and really contemplates it]

I'm really almost certain of choosing the hairstyle with the choppy bangs that looks like it was stolen from FF, I've loved the hair, just no one has been able to use it until now. Carrion does  look good in CC, just afraid of those initial cutscenes.

Unless it is a female character, I always go with bald.  Of course, in RL I have been shaving my head since I was 19 years old because, well, women like bald heads.  I can't count how many times I have been "rubbed for luck".

Go with bald, watch the ladies swoon.  lol

No, all he needed was a FF style haircut, lol.

They do. Like his profile is gorgeous. And I liked the FF haircut in the interogation, but then he gets outside and I'm like do I hate it or like it. I like it, but I hate it, but not enough to try and fix it for a fourth time.

I feel your pain.  I'm on my third character now and I'm only now finally somewhat satisfied with what I have.  Every other time there has just been a feature of two that was bugging the heck out of me.  The second time I got about 7 or so hours into the game before I want "Nope!"  I can't handle this anymore and started a new one.

The third one I'm on now, she isn't exceptionally beautiful or unique, but she looks good enough and doesn't irk me at every turn when placed on particular side angles.  I'm not totally crazy about the hair colour but.... *shakes head* nope definitely not doing it again.

Love OP.

First few times my make up looked perfect in the CC and like a clown in game. So it took me a while to balance between invisible and "kid crayon art in your face"

The problem is I don't always remember what I did with the sliders. So it's the same character, essentially look twenty times different every time.

I'd just like a decent male cut.

Males want bangs too.

I'm sticking with the FF cut, IDK, something in game is bothering me about his hair. But its like grrrr just let me play this game and not be bothered by something.

His FF cut is as I said earlier, I love it in some scenes, he looks amazing. And other scenes with his hair he looks god awful. I don't get it.

Its like Bioware essentially made us who like aesthetically pleasing characters, and I don't mean flawless don't mistake my words here, be tortured because every time there is essential one detail that bothers me.

I love hate this hair.

Some cutscenes as I said he looks great.

Other cutscenes he looks god awful.

The colours change a lot depending on the lighting. I built a dwarf with medium brown hair, and then in the first cutscene it's red.

My first character was supposed to have slightly grey black hair, but it looks brown when he's outside (it still suits him, though).

Why didn't we get a full colour palette for hair like we did for eyes and makeup?

I feel fortunate, the only reason I had to restart my char was I realised his hair was clipping into his ear, and not in a semi believable "it is running over his ear," but it was actually sticking through the upper part of his ear.  I didnt notice until I got outside the dungeon, even though in my recording I see it the whole way through CC and early cutscenes XD  I was too enamoured with the beauty to notice it right away!

For me, it was the nose. OH MY GOD HOW DID I EVER SIGN OFF ON THAT POTATO NOSE.

Second try was the charm though.

I suggested the very same thing.

A outside hair color and the highlights.

My character's neck is too thin but that might just be an elven issue. I always go with bald or shaved because the hair styles are uniformly gawd awful IMHO.

It's true. I mean there are a few "Decent" and decent is the nice way of putting it.

My biggest issue is skin.  NPC skin textures look amazing.  My character's skin texture looks terrible, no matter what I choose.

I'm on maybe my fifith.  Of course I lost the last two to crashes during the numerous cutscences you have to go through before your character gets saved. I think I'm done until the game gets patched.

Fortunately i took maybe about an hour and created a pretty good inquisitor, and i'm liking him so far.

Dreading redesigning Hawke when i bump into him though. Trying to recreate him to look as close as i can to what he looked like in DA2 could be painful

My character looked OK in the CC...I swear in the world he looks like a taller version of Sandal...

Any second I expect him to look at the "camera" and say...

"ENCHANTMENT?"

I feel you.  I've just "rolled" character #7.  She's still not perfect, but it's as close as I'm gonna get without an in-game editor.

PS: males always deserve makeup.

I did that for my "me" playthrough of Origins. My one small, but oh so irritating gripe with Inquisition is the lack of a character portrait for the Inquisitor. Why just a hand? Lazy
