Awkward Dialogue I guess

For me I would have changed some of the dialogue amongst the party members. To me some of the responses sound weird. Especially in the beggining. Leliana is one of the weirdest.

For example when she is first talking to Rodrick in what is essentially the tutorial:

"We served the most divine and just. As you well know."

Maybe it was the direction she turned her head as if she were addressing the party, I would have just had her continue to look at Rodrick because well as I don't know for my character.

Or in the tutorial mode when you choose to take the mountain path

Solas, "What is this path? An old mine?"

Cassandra responses as thus, "It's a dwarven mining...." can't remember the rest

Why couldn't she have just responded, "Yes,"

Seems weird to me. Solas didn't ask for a giant paragraph or history and she essentially repeated what he just said.

IDK, THIS really Isn't a Complaint. Just something I found odd.

Sounds like video game writing to me.

Leliana actually says "We serve the most Divine Justinia, as you well know." Divine Justinia is the religious leader (like the Pope) who organized the peace talks, and was sacrificed by the Big Bad after they were blown up.

I know this, but why does she stare at the party when she says as you well know?

She be telling this Rodrick.

Regarding your example between Solas and Cassandra, remember that the writers are trying to both appease to Dragon Age fans and new players alike. Solas asked an introductory question, and Cassandra answered with further information to let new players catch a bit of extra knowledge about the area, or dwarves, etc. That's very common in media, particularly in games because the "viewer" is actually an active participant, and it's easier to miss subtleties and key information that you otherwise would probably notice while being a passive participant in watching a movie.

Mass Effect games had characters looking the wrong way sometimes. It was a glitch.

Awww.... you cant blame her for not wanting to look at Rodrick. Maybe if she looks at him too long, she cant control the urge to stab him.

Nothing Leliana could say that I would find awkward. She could be tell me about her special pancake recipe during battle, and I'd be like.XSYP833.jpg

Also concerning the dialogue wheel with the Herald. If you Investigate and ask questions in what seems out of order and then respond to what they inital said, talk about even more awkward.
