The title music, the music you hear at the start screen, is a dead ringer for "Pippin's Song". The fact that's the song that plays before the "event" can't also be coincidental.
Not trollin'.
Just sayin'.

Inon Zur did with DA:O very obviously, but most of the stuff in DA:I feels like it has its own identity IMO.
I have sworn its that song almost every time I've heard it.
Nope, next question?
It does sound a lot like Pippin's song, but I wouldn't say it's ripped off exactly. Both use instruments and motifs common to a lot of folk songs from the British Isles. It conjures up that soulful medieval feel.
Everything from the medieval fantasy genre rips off LOTR.
In all seriousness, everything in this genre follows a bit of a forumula. It's typical epic fantasy sweeping string instruments melody with a big brass rush and drums when you want to give people goosebumps.
But yes, the melody has some similarities to Pippin's song I suppose.
The melody is identical except for a few notes at the end there. That this wouldn't be seen is really pretty hilarious. In fact, I thought they must have bought the license for the song in order to use it. It's not quite Vanilla Ice levels of similarity, but it's not as far away as it should be from that.
It's very much the same Pippin tune until 0:48.
Trevor Morris did a great job, but that first part honestly feels lifted.
It's not the same, but it's similar enough that I thought it was the same song when it started playing on my soundtrack the first time.
