Yes, lets all tell Bioware to fix this straight away, nevermind those whos games are broken and wont work at all. The immersion of those who can play is much more important than those who spent money on a game just for it to not work. Go on Bioware, focus all your efforts into things like this, leave those people who are content with simply getting to play in the dust, you don't need them. (Sarcasm, if it wasn't already obvious)

This is RPG game, immersion is its most valuable asset. Furthemore, I do not think that people who are responsible for the bugs that you and other people are experiencing, are the same people who work with the character models.

Do you feel better about yourself, now? :)

Now scuttle along. *makes shooing motions*

I did not need to seem as bitter as I did, but my point still stands, a small issue such as this one should not be focused upon over game breaking bugs. The next patch will hopefully be full of major bug fixes, not full of minor bug fixes or changing design choices simply because some people shouted louder about minor things than than the others about major things.

Like Lord Surinen says, major bugs like yours involves coding and programmers. Issues with rigging and arms sinking into the body involves modelers and designers. Those are two completely different pieces of a game development team, and in no way impede on each other.

Thus...your bugs can be fixed and our bugs can be fixed without either preventing the other.

And so your initial statement seems unnecessarily rude and unproductive to the point of this topic.

I understand this, and I apologize for being so rude before. I just fear the Bioware will only see threads like this and ignore major bugs because threads like this one overshadow them.

You have no reason to fear. From what I've seen, Bioware has offered more acknowledgement of those bugs then they have so far on our rigging bugs. That's where in our concerns lie.

However, the apology is appreciated and you are forgiven. :)

Yknow, this discussion has in fact reminded me of my Femelfs arms glitching out in the Josephine romance, and the fact that Joise kisses me Femelfs forehead because she is smaller than Josie. Well, now I sort of want character models fixed to be honest, haha :D

It is the other way around. We receive almost no attention. For some reason we are far behind social 'issues' in BioWare poster's priority. I have no right nor I wish to insist for an example BioWarePoster1 where he/she should post and focus his/her gaze, but we are supposed to spend about 100 hours in this game. 100 hours of broken arms, awkward cutscenes is 100 hours too much.

As someone who's playing as a male elf, I feel like the most loser man compared to all the tough looking dudes. :(

Come on, don't you enjoy your broken arms, sweet time with your ribs? Even Solas seems to be interested in your mystical massage technique. If it is not the spirit of esoterism than I do not know what is.

[Hey model-responsible people! If you read it, fix it!]

What can I say? My elf was a massage specialist in his previous life. I know Dorian will certainly appreciate it. ;)

If I'm right then it is saturday today, almost sunday for me. It takes them long to fix bugs. I guess the week that starts tomorrow will get us a patch. I guess.

Hmm...well, to fix bugs, you have to gather the team, discuss the issues, test and thuroughly research what is causing the bug, try to fix it, and then break the code a few times before you finally figure out it was because of a dumb letter q after a semicolon. Proceed to bang head on wall till blood blinds your eyes, then fix it and move on to the next bug.

At least...that's my experience when programming. :P

Maybe their team is already on it. Maybe they were working almost 24h/7d for the last week. Maybe they are ready to deliver the most fixing fix in the history of gaming industry!!!!!! Probably not, but I would not mind it at all. I just can't wiat to see a proper arms.

My programming skills limit me to stationary bicycle.

I bet someone in Bioware right now is lieing on the floor with a concussion. Programming is a deadly profession. :P

As for modelers, they will have to possible unpack the model, check the rigging, check the animation screen by screen to see what's going on, and possibly converse with programmers or the cutscene dedicated team to figure out why the arms are sticking.

So it can be a long involved process. Sometimes fixing one thing actually can cause 10 more bugs to pop up. *shrugs*

Then they better don't cause 10 new bugs. From your description it looks to me like one day of 12h work. It should be enough to check it. Anyway, why did they release it in this shape in the first place.

One day at best. Sometimes, it can take a rediculously long time to spot the problem. And if new bugs pop up, they have to test and fix those or risk putting out a broken patch that breaks the game further.

As for why they released in this condition? Probably EA. Money limitations and forced deadlines. It seems with the introduction of dlc and patches, more game companies are being rushed to get the product out and then worry about fixing things. And EA seems notorious for forcing a game to be shipped.

I have a bachelor in game design and I'm close to graduating and getting one in game programming. That's why I know a little bit about this stuff and the process behind it. ^_^

Then two days, let's say three. Model guys got week already.

I know 'why' but I ask 'WHY', as in 'how dare they(...)'.

I say: monday's patch will fix broken arms. Yes, we will get patch this monday. Positive thinking engaged.

Hee hee. I hope for a patch soon to. For you and me and everyone.

Just remember, if EA is involved, then all your questions are usually answered with "EA." *sigh*

Only if it is not "Soon TM". You can only walk with broken arms for so long, if the bones set wrongly then it will require planned fracture.

So this is what the downfall of Dragon Age looks like. Idiots whining about barely noticeable aesthetic details, all the while praising Bioware for absolutely butchering the combat system.

I won't be preordering the next Bioware game I buy that's for damn sure.

Oooh, look! A prime example of an ***hole with lots of time on his hands and a need to laugh at others to feel good about himself. A fine specimen.

Look, if you have a genuine problem with the opinions of others, such a problem that you get really worked about the fact that they actually think differently to you, such a problem that you go off topic and mention a different aspect of the game just to insult them, and such a problem that you act like an insufferable c***, then you really should not be going near forums.

Yep. Gotta be careful. Them forums are just full of adverse opinions and viewpoints.

People having differing opinions? People not blindly following what one person believes? How very dare they.

I have always thought that Dragon Age series were known for its rpg elements. these  'barely' noticeable things impair the most important events during gameplay by completely ridiculing the situations presented.

Still, two different teams responsible for two different things.
