scared of going out into this new Thedas?

I got through the prologue and got the main quest assigned, but now I hesitate in taking any further steps.

Everything feels almost too large, like if I don't stop and look through the areas, I'm going to miss everything.

It's a strange feeling. I didn't feel this way with Skyrim, Watch Dogs, or any of the AC games. My completionist streak is going into overdrive with this game.

It made me very happy... until I realize they force you to get in and out of maps all the time, a big let down. I would explore a world ten thousand times bigger if I could enter it and explore it all, but having to go in one map, another, then another, then going back to the second, then a new one, then back to the first just feels messy and incomplete. Also respawn completely prevents any feelings of "completeness".

As of now the different maps don't bother me, but that could be because I've only actually started the game. I'm over 5 hours in and as I stated, I've only now gotten to the area with the first main quest. It's difficult because, I want to do all the side quests before doing the main ones, but this game doesn't work like the other DA games. I could step into an area i'm horribly unprepared for because the quest is actually meant to be down much later. Damn my wanting to go do a (more or less) blind first playthrough.

Either way, I'm grateful the weekend is finally here, maybe now I can sit down and get something done other than talking to every single person I come across or plucking every elfroot I see.
