Why is the MP designed this way?

Hey guys so I decided to try out MP with a friend of mine for the first time tonight.

What the heck?  First off the store and the pay to win stuff is a complete splash of cold water.

All of it.  The potions and the equipment chest stuff.

On top of this me and a friend want to play and there is no way to queue as a group?

We are limited to 4 skill slots.  As if the 8 skill slot limitation was not bad enough.

This game suffers from consolitis and if it wasn't for its great production and world this is very much the MAX PAYNE 3 counter-point in the DA3 series.

I would like answers to these questions as well.

TC, have you even played the MP? You realize you get gold for playing the game and can then use said gold to buy the chests, right?

You can absolutely play together; start a private lobby, send invitations to your friends, profit.

The 4 active skills were chosen to encourage strong teamwork.

I have no idea what you mean invoking Max Payne 3, though.

It's not pay to win because you still aren't buying anything specific as it's all random crap and you can play one run of Routine not even clear it mind you and buy some sort of chest or clear two runs and you can even buy a large chest then just hoarde your potions like everyone else and save them for higher difficulties and before you know it you'll max at like 255 or whatever and start getting more rare drops in their place and then you'll be like wow this is totally awesome and kickass and stuff

@OP - Stop smoking whatever it is you are smoking, and start exploring the options available to you instead.

My ONLY concern regarding the multiplayer is that VoIP is turned on by default, with no options to set a push to talk button, and no way of automatically turning that "feature" off so you have to mute people individually.

Very annoying, it's something they need to get sorted ASAP on PC because I am so tired already (And I've only played about 15 maps total so far) of open mics for no reason at all.

It might work that way on console, but the PC Master race demands more.

MP feels like just another cash cow and rip off, and for pr of course but the gameplay is terrible and the prices for the items are ridiculous.

EA seems to think that they can do everything with us, but that is over friends. Last EA game for me, and dragon age also. Consider a true die hard fan since the release of the original DAo gone.

Messing around with the players, like sh1tty ubisoft, hope that DAI sells will decline and that bioware and ea are forced to do awesome games like KOTOR or DAo again.

the store is exactly the way the store in me3mp WAS/IS. If you're shocked its because you haven't been paying attention.

Real money is completely optional so if you have something against it then don't use it and work your way through hard earned progression like the rest of us. Honestly, it's not even that hard. Just play, earn some experience, die. Go again. Eventually you beat it and you move up dificulty. I can solo routine now.

If you don't like the gamestyle then switch to singleplayer? Multiplayer is completely optional and a lot of us find it to be quite fun. If you don't like it then you are naturally welcome to share your opinions on it, but you should really do some more investigation before calling it pay2win.

I'm not sure I'd call a system "pay to win" when paying brings you very little winning. I get about as much personal time with the rng store in 25 minutes that someone gets for a chunk of money. Same as with Me3, the microtrans seems hilariously ineffeciently for what you get with the amount of money.

Well yes, they did think very hard on how to milk money from players, and the beginning 3 classes are tedium defined.  But, should you win the lottery, you will finally unlock a fun class and it will be enjoyable

Someone apparently doesn't know that you can craft classes.

It's always the people who know the least who complain the most.

Craft how

You should be careful with your attacks.  The game is not worth playing at all without the fun classes.  If the katari had not unlocked at the time that it did I would have stopped playing entirely.  If you want people to be playing the game

So, about that crafting.  Tell me how to craft a Reaver immediately

Go in game, MP, crafting, click craft armour, select reaver, craft armour.

Can you imagine how stupid it would be to only play the prologue of Last of Us and then make a post complaining because there's no way to fight the infected and claiming that the game is just a movie with no interaction at all?

Because that's what you're doing.

Jumping to conclusions before you've ever actually experienced the game.

TC made two topics pretty much exactly the same and, I'm assuming, hasn't actually tried playing any of MP. People who are complaining because of the Platinum or not knowing how to unlock classes seem to just be looking for something to complain about and aren't actually trying it.

I have no plans on paying any actual money for Platinum. The only reason I did it once was because I had like 3 dollars on my PSN account for whatever reason, so I got some and opened a Large Chest. And I'm saving up Materials to unlock the Elementalist first. Damn Cloth!

I'm not saying I wouldn't love to have even 1 more active ability slot, I'm saying that is what the devs said during the MP streams. It was a design decision to promote teamwork and to prestige your classes to try out different builds, not that I necessarily agree with that choice.

Fail analogy.  The correct conclusion would be that the Last of Us is a bad game and to stop playing.  I don't complain like a little ******.  I have better things to do.  Like play another game instead

Why don't you tell people how to craft reaver instead of having everyone just quit the game, leaving it a barren wasteland.  You have me confused with someone who cares

I absolutely love MP. The character backgrounds are amazing. I love that it fits into the whole Inquisition story (that your character is apart of the Inquistion), i like how the all talk to each other and the fact that there backgrounds are almost as interesting as the companions on single player.

Love the grinding too, crossing your fingers hoping to get better loot ever time you open a chest. Im about to promote my Arcane Warrior to 5 I love him that much :)
Also, ive made some nice friends on MP. My Origin account isnt empty anymore and actively play with my new friends.

MP has potential. I recommend everyone come join me in me3mp & we can return in 3 months when multiple issues are resolved.

RIght now the only thing I dislike about the MP is the fact we are limited to four skills. It works for classes like Reaver, but for people like Assassin, Legionnaire and Templar? I need more tools to bring to the table to have fun. Also the dodge roll takes up a slot, what is up with that.
