Ugh I really can't decide between siding with the elves or drinking from the well.

When you say side with the elves, do you mean having Morrigan drink instead? As far as I know one of you has to do it, but I could be wrong.

Maybe. I just entered the well and some elves popped out and said If I leave they will fight by my side against corypheus and morrigan said i may want the well for myself.

Hm. I would refrain from having anybody drink if possible just because of the possible story implications, but it sounds like you might not be fully through yet. Did you do the rituals instead of following Calpernia, and does Morrigan have Kieran?

Well... If my quizzy drinks it and she is romancing Solas, does that end their romance?

Can't say for sure. Solas doesn't seem to care that much, it's only a disapproves and not a greatly disapproves. He will confront you about it if you talk to him, but he seems to forgive you at least slightly. Shouldn't end the romance. The most notable relationship change is Vivienne; she'll greatly disapprove if you let Morrigan drink and will do the opposite if you do so.

Where are you guys getting the impression that Flemeth took the OGB's soul? She did something, but it's never said what. Did I miss something?

After the Inquisitor and Morrigan walk out of the eluvian Morrigan explicitly says "she wanted the old god soul all along." Kieran also mentions that he feels "lonely" implying that his second soul is now gone. It's also pretty easy to infer based on the fact that Flemeth takes this glowing blue thing out of him. What else would it be if not the old god soul that made him so special?

I let morrigan drink and I am slightly regretting it tbh, mainly as I am a dalish elf, so it would probably be the best playthrough to do it myself on!

Okay, I suppose that makes sense, except why "second soul?" Everything up to this point has implied that the OGB only has one soul, not exactly something that can just be torn out of your body.

One soul is that of OGB but co existing is the soul of the child himself, the soul that incarnates into the body both exist in one body

Yeah I also played a Dalish and letting Morrigan drink from the well is a bit strange.

I let her drink because my Dalish was tired of people seeing him as a "Chosen One" and the thing in his hand was enough , he didn't feel like gaining old elven knowledge.

But I may replay and drink , afterall this Inquisitor had (what I think) is Mythal tatoo on his face and being a servant of Mythal would be a great honor for him.

Wait, but what happens if Morrigan drinks from the well but does not have child?

(since I did not do the dark ritual)

The Eluvian scene is just a conversation between her and Flemeth.

So what would be better as a big Morrigan fan? having her drink from the well with a child, me drinking from a well instead or just having the conversation scene without the child?

So is it possible to have nobody drink from the Well?

Personally, I went with having the Inquisitor drink, as if Solas has inherited Mythal or whatever like the after-credits scene implies I think our Inquisitor will be less likely to suffer harm under Solas than Morrigan is. Plus, more power for you if you care about that.

So Morrigan/Inquisitor become a slave to Solas? Lol. . .

Does anybody know if this choice affects Solas's romance? All of the videos of it have a certain outcome I dislike, but they all chose to drink from the well themselves, also....

That ending you dislike (I assume you mean him leaving?) happens regardless of whether or not you drink from the well. The only difference is that he doesn't get angry when you don't drink from it, so the dialogue at the beginning of that last romance cut scene is a little different.

I think the Solas/Flemeth thing at the end was partly put there to repair the negative consequences of either choice. That and the fact that there might be a question over whether Kate Mulgrew would want to do more work as Flemeth, or whether Bioware could afford her to.

I think Flemeth is officially dead, but could return if Bioware wanted, and either the Inquisitor or Morrigan is now partly controlled by the man with less hair than Homer Simpson. Hopefully some DLC will resolve this, rather than a wait for DA4.

I'm just happy that the game was a lot better than I expected and I was allowed to leave my home town this time :)

It seems this is why he disapproves of the Inquisitor drinking from the well...for whatever reason this is. Maybe the preferred choice was Morrigan.

However, if I was playing a Female Elf Mage romancing Solas, I would definitely drink from the Well. That would make things...interesting.

My only disappointment with the Well quest was that if you drink from it yourself, the dragon that appears and joins you isn't Macho Man :)

That's a top priority mod right there. How much more awesome would the final battle be if the Skyrim Macho Man dragon got involved? :D

I think this is most likely true. BW has made it evident they're tired of South Thedas and the characters we know, which I'd disagree with personally because it's much harder to have consistent quality and have people make an emotional connection across each game with a new batch of companions and a new protagonist each time but I digress. This is just another loose end tied up so they don't have to bring up Morrigan, her romance and her son again.

Just as we can import Hawke from the Keep, so we can with the warden with a romanced Morrigan.

I´m sure Bioware is well aware of how much uproar they could get with the whole Morrigan romance (damn, they even created a whole DLC for her to close Origins) so I guess they have things in store in that regard.

Plus, Morrigan is a David Gaider character, she will not end well in the very, very end (remember Viconia?)...

Here was me hoping for a story that could eventually, not end with suicidal despair....
