So if the story is.... the same old *****, what do you propose ? What kind of a story should we have ? Maybe we should have a farming simulator... that would make a great story. Not saving the world.. just cleaning stables in Thedas. ;)

That is not up too us we pay lot of money for it. They have too come up with a good quality game that is worth playing over and over because that was dragon age originally all the different choices and outcomes that was fun. What is worth the money and how they present it. I am already bored after 2-3 playthroughs thats not good. With origins I had like 20 playthroughs or more. Like they rushed it too much for the release.. I dont think I will buy a da4 or any dlc's. Also if people say too fast that they are doing a good job then nothing will change. If you are too easily satisfied.

I am not easily satisfied.... and while I played and loved DAO, I don't think that it was all that great. The story was shallow if you ask me. I did not love it for the story.  DA 2 had a much more interesting story, but the horrible small, and repetitive world pretty much ruined it, for me at least, but I loved the idea of a more personal main story.

The idea behind the story in DAI was good, but the execution is a bit lacking. For me its enjoyable. It's a good game. Not jaw dropping, but good.
The loot system is TERRIBLE

Armor models are lacking heavily and their variety is just horrible. The mobs have better looking armor and some of them wear some nice models from DAO and DA2. Why can't we wear them too ?

Exploration is not revarding at all... If I find a hidden chest all I get is a useless belt which I can't even sell for decent gold.

So yes... DAI has some flaws, but claiming that DAO was all that great is far fetched and unrealistic.

I love DAI, great story, great characters, amazing environments I loved exploring. The only thing I wish, was that the main quest line was a bit longer, but that is only because I enjoyed it so much and I was sad when it was over :)

On my second play through now and still enjoying it.

20 playthroughs? Boy, I dunno if I could stand to go the distance. Once I got the "Stupid-Evil" playthrough out of my system, it's been difficult to really get through it again. I'm slowly making my way through the 4th playthrough as a mage, and I suspect it may be the last for many months.

But then, I'm one of those goofy people that replays DA2 many more times than DA:O, and ME3 far more than either ME1 or 2.

PC port was shameful but I enjoyed the game immensely.

Was the story great? No. Was the gameplay perfect? Definitely not.

But it was fun, engaging, and touching (in some parts) and honestly it's what Bioware needs after Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2. This game proved they still got it even after the last 4 years.

I wholeheartedly agree with this post.
There was some good elements with DA2 (and I did...it pains me to admit...play it multiple times), but it, IMO, had more flaws than it should have.

I hate revisiting BSN trends (been doing it alot lately), but back in the days of Origins, people complained that the story was overused and overdone (there's a bioware flowchart for storytelling).  The point:  at least it wasn't completely in line with a flowchart that's gotta be at least 5-7 years old.  (cough me3).

Nope, but I hate the mountains though. Maker damn the mountains!

....I like that there isn't those invisible walls, but I'm not sure the mountains are better.  For some reason, I always find myself stubbornly attempting to climb what is obviously not meant to be climbed.

Is OP just stupid? I felt like I rushed the story and I played for 52 hours. There is no way you can be at the level you would need to be at to beat the end game boss in 17 hours unless you totally ignored all lore and companion dialogue/quests to only grind mobs.

Yeah...I came back to these forums after my first PT (60+hrs) and found out that I had missed sooo much of the companion quests it wasn't even funny.

This is good.  I thought there was something wrong with me because I couldn't really stand to play Origins anymore.  I mean, it's literally a chore, IMO just to get through the Origins.  Though I can't say I played DA2 more, by the time I'm bored with DAI, I suspect I will have played it more than any of them.

Hehe yeah that was when it first came out. With every race starting in there own place like orzamar or in the alienage. Was different every time. That was the fun of dragon age for me. Dragon age 2 was also all right. Not too bad

I join that goofy club :D Though I liked ME2 more then the 3. The 3 was good but too depressing for my mood at that time.

The game is amazing and I think people who actually hate it (and I'm not talking about a few gripes here and there.  All games have something we don't like) either:

a) Had ridiculously unrealistic expectations

B) Just get off on ripping into things because reasons.

Hell, the majority of the reasons you stated for hating the game can be stated for like 90% of all RPGs LOL.

Personally, my only major gripe about the game is the bugs.  Other than that, it's been a terrific experience.

Yeah.  They can make your eyes roll, but I have yet to play any Bioware game without a ridiculous bug or two.  And given the trend this year, it's refreshing to see a game that overall works in spite of a few bugs. LOL

Go on and run back to your witcher and your skyrim kid. One fan leaves is easily replaced by 10 more.

I don't hate any game, just think it's a mediocre game. Probably because most of the things that are important for me in a rpg, are implented rather poor in this game.

Story- and characterwriting, atmosphere, choices and consequences, questdesign.

For me only the writing of most of the characters is good, the other above mentioned points are either average (story, choices and consequences),underwhelming (atmopshere) or horrible (questdesign).

Especially the questdesign is killing any motivation I had to replay the game. Can't remember a single (offline)rpg, which contained soo many poor designed sidequests.

And don't tell me I should just skip them. I don't see the point in skipping 70-.80% of the content of a game and the story and choices are in my opinion not a big enough reason to just replay it for them. Actually, my main reason to start a second playthrough was to see the templer mission, but arriving  in the hinterlands and seeing the assassins creed style map full of symbols I lost any motivation to continue playing. So I just watched the mission on youtube,

I think people who like mmo's will definitly enjoy the game, but for me such a big amount of poorly designed quests shouldn't exist in a single-player story driven rpg.

No, why would I hate a game I am thoroughly enjoying?

This game utterly destroys Skyrim (I played that game to completion, just an FYI), and it has a good story and great combat. And you seem to just be looking for every reason to hate the game. If you enjoy the Witcher so much, go play it. I know I will be picking the new one up this year.

You want to play a crap game? Go play Watch Dogs or Destiny.

That's because I haven't played a Bioware game and ever hated it (to be fair I never played DA2, but I like ME3). I will be getting those as well. Witcher mainly because the developers have some integrity lol

EXACTLY!

And DA2 is a great game.

All of the criticisms are valid, but having played it, they never really bothered me too much.  If you play DA2, you NEED to get the Legacy DLC and that's ALL I'll say. ;)
