Hate is a word that is tossed around too much in the gaming community to a point where the word loses all power and meaning. There are plenty of games that deserve to be hated due to overall poor quality and the audacity of their publishers to even release such a thing. DA:I is not a perfect game, so I agree on that point that some review sites had their lips a bit too far up the game's posterior. That said it is not a bad game, it has terrific set pieces for the most part, and the musical scores are wonderfully done, even if the main theme loops a bit too much for my liking. The story I grant you, is wafer thin, there are only a few main quests to progress the story and dozens of hours of side missions that really don't amount to much. I felt that for an inquisition that is supposedly shaping the world, I had very little say in what actually occurred in said world. Ultimately regardless of what you do during the story, everything culminates in the exact same way. You can send your advisors on all these little table missions but just like in ME 3 and it's resource gathering, it all means nothing.. There is no sense that you really have to build up your forces because your final success depends on it. You can ignore almost every wartable mission  and you won't be the lesser for it.

There are also tons of bugs that have not been addressed yet and the game has been out for some weeks now such as crucial npcs not even appearing in companion sidequests. Several times i have encountered game areas not loading properly and thus having to watch my character plummet through where the ground was supposed to be. Companions vanishing from the map when you're trying to go speak to them is especially annoying, forcing you to have to reload the area. Open fade rifts that don't spawn demons even when you're standing directly underneath them and therefor being impossible to close, again forcing you to reload the area.

I do miss the  variety from previous games since the ending of DA:I ends up the same way no matter what you do. I miss the multiple origins from the original game and was let down that you only get 1 origin per race. I would have loved to see a playthrough as a qunari who was still bound to the Qun and your dialogue responses reflect that.  My nitpicks are too many to list, but they include limited voice options, only 2? while they are alright, it just felt like the voices didn't fit the racial choices at times. They could have easily made it like saints row where you could raise or lower the pitch of the two voice options to make them sound a little different at least.

I don't hate the game, that just seems unfair. I've put in a good amount of time playing it and it is enjoyable, more than worth the money I payed. I can only liken DA:I to a Marble statue, while overall it is a sight to behold, when you look closer you will see dozens of cracks that start to add up and mar it's overall appearances. It's a worthy sequel and I don't feel "cheated" for having bought it, but it could have been so much more. More emphasis on the main story and not so much on MMOesque side missions which add nothing to the plot. Tighten the controls for pc and make combat less awkward, especially when playing a class that relies on positional combat like the rogue etc etc. Many of my issues with the game could probably be addressed with a patch, while others can be taken into account when creating dlc or saved for the next game in the series.I really hope Bioware takes heed, I know they are capable.

The game is radically different from Origins in terms of gameplay and focus.  Change  does not imply a bad game by itself. However, I do not like the changes, since the current gamplay focus is not the reason why I play Dragon Age in the first place.

My god ..what a crybaby...

Go on and run back to your witcher and your skyrim kid. One fan leaves is easily replaced by 10 more.

This is hilarious, because a friend of mine that I used to play with on Destiny had this problem. He was very disappointed in what the game's story ended up being like, and while I've already stopped playing after completing the actual "plot" of the game, he's always in the Crucible and repeating raids.

Hehe yeah that was when it first came out. With every race starting in there own place like orzamar or in the alienage. Was different every time. That was the fun of dragon age for me. Dragon age 2 was also all right. Not too bad

The human noble and city elf origins are the ones that I truly enjoy. The dwarven commoner does have its charm, but it doesn't really hook me in like the others. The Circle mage deserves a mention, but I really don't like Jowan, and that it gives his character more exposure is a minus. It's even worse that I have to see stupid Jowan's face at the Temple of Sacred ashes. It actually drove me to get him executed XD

Oh, go and munch on a butt. I'm 35, my favorite games are Fallout 2, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III/VI, so no "zombie generation" here, and this game is effing wonderful.

20 playthroughs? Boy, I dunno if I could stand to go the distance. Once I got the "Stupid-Evil" playthrough out of my system, it's been difficult to really get through it again. I'm slowly making my way through the 4th playthrough as a mage, and I suspect it may be the last for many months.

But then, I'm one of those goofy people that replays DA2 many more times than DA:O, and ME3 far more than either ME1 or 2.

I allready replayed Me3 and Me2 DA and DA2 too much so I was excited for this game waiting for it to come out and then totally not what I expeted. But well nothing too do about it.

Hey, I loved skyrim but I always wished that its main story quests weren't such a bore. DA: I has made my dream come true.

Excet Skyrim has better sidecontent than inquisition AND can be moded.

True that. the guild quests tends to be the best parts of the elder scrolls games.

I was able to beat ME1 in 9 hours, could prolly push through ME2 in close to the same amount of time. I only beat ME3 once, so idk about a speed run of that.

I could never do that. As much as other people hate driving around on the planets, that's one of my favorite parts of the game as it really makes the game world feel real and fleshed out. I just wish the terrain was flatter.

It means when you like and dont bother hearing the same dialoge over and over also whatever answer you choose and the same voice for every race. Bit simple but if you guys are satisfied with something like that no problem.

mmo style side quests really put me off doing re plays. Go fetch X amount.

i found the game alot more serious , as in lack of funny /joking moments. Always good to go 'remember when Morrigan used the doll on alistar ?'  did we have a moment like that in DA I ?

I really dislike Josephine and Cullen being LI , not because of the characters but because they were not party members.

I think main thing was the lack of a Morrigan or even Isabella , a Black sheep type character. Maybe i'm getting old and a young mischievous LI in games brings back my youth.

I suppose I would be farther on the "dislike" side of the spectrum (though I'm typing this while I have DAI minimized), but I gave you a like for "much on a butt."

For the most part like the game. But I do have a couple of issues. 1 is pc controls. 2 It's not so much the fetch quest themselves I expect and accept that in an rpg, it just seems some quest could have been more intersting. An examplke of this is the whole tranquil thing at redcliffe. I would rather had to investigate that as opposed to some of the other stuff. 3 lack of armour styles is another gripe it's a small one but still and the merchants never seeming to update their inventory.

I'm 30 and like this game.

The argument that it's the "console kiddies" that enjoy it is far from true.  Or MMO kiddies.  Or Skyrim.  Or...whatever other brash comparison trolls can come up with.

What it, IMO, comes down to is whether or not you're egotistical enough to believe that BioWare should cater to your specific desires.

Yes, the bugs are a huge problem, however, as is evidenced in previous titles (cough Origins), they have always existed.  It doesn't make this game somehow lesser...

2 things I'm actually greatfull for are the absence of "shuffling" and parachuting re-spawns.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there! Most console gamers don't want to think, have an immersive story, rpg, etc.  Every game that began as PC and turned to console gets dumbed down.  Some examples.....Thief - the original thief you had to FIND items, you had tons of ways to complete your mission, you could shot rope arrows anywhere they would stick, etc.   From deadly shadows to the newest thief relaunched,  items are glowing so you don't have to look, you only have 1 way to complete a mission you can only climp and shoot climb arrows in the designated spot so you don't have to think at all.

In DAO tons of possibilities, TACTICS, customize how your party fights, etc, in DAI only 1 possibility for anything, no tactics, just button smashing 'zombie' mindless game.

I don't think the game is for just everyone. If you haven't played DA:O and DA2 you're gonna be completely clueless on a lot of stuff and basically you're gonna have to do a lot of codex reading.

Heck I played both and had to read a lot of codex.
