I will mention that OP's title screams for attention as if trying to prove that all the reviewers were bought out by EA and that everyone is obligated to agree with with his opinion on the game.

You hate it? Fine. But don't presume that everyone else has to be same and act like YOUR score is the right one.

If you type down 'dragon age inquisition' in Google and select news you will see nothing but praises for the game even the PC ones but that was before the EU relased of the game.

I don't see where you're going with that.

My point was that anyone who's played a lot of different games -- you know, the way a reviewer would -- wouldn't be likely to get hysterical about DAI's PC control scheme. I've played games like this myself, and I don't even play MMORPGs. Hell, I think controls similar to this were an option for NWN1, although not that many players preferred the mode.

I do love the game a ton, but I completely agree with the sidequest thing. It was disappointing that some maps didn't have ANYTHING to do with the main quest line. Also the lack of face to face cutscenes made it feel like the quests you were doing weren't worth it. Even in DA2 they talked to you and you could clearly see their face and feel like it was part of the story, this one just seemed impersonal. I wish they had utilized every map they offered us somehow in the main campaign...or well, any campaign. I enjoy wandering around, but I eventually got tired of that and wanted more main story to play through.

I am super excited for the DLCs to come though. :) Especially one with

I'm enjoying DA:I alot. I freeze after I respec, but a reboot fixes. No biggy. And truth be told... I love Dragon Age 10x more, than freaking Elder Scrolls. Tho games' story are only like 5 or 6 hours. DA:I hasn't yet made me change my feelings for DA. The stories are great, there's humor and sorrow, hatred and regrets. I haven't felt things in any other RPG.

How the heck did you finish the main story in less than 20 hours? I really don't see that being possible.
Anyway no. I prefer DA2 for it's central intimate story but Inquisition is beautiful and addictive.

I am no where near finishing the game, but everyone I know who has finished says no way could the main story be done in this amount of time without power ups. So calling BS on this.

There are some issues with the game, the only one that is jarring for me at the moment is the frame rate on wider cut scenes (ones without dialogue) and as I've played a lot of vanilla Skyrim, controls aren't an issue for me but I can see how it might be for others. Story wise, seems pretty good so far, and others playing who views I trust are pretty happy with the story telling too, but that's a ymmv. I'm getting the feeling that the hinterlands might be like the 'deep roads' or 'the fade' parts of Origins - where some viewed them as a bit of a chore.

The mention of Witcher 2 by the OP immediately has me suspicious. I've yet to complete TW2 to exactly find out how 'awesome' the story and choices are (according to fanboys) because I found the combat horrendous, I tried but gave up after 8hrs play and couldn't be bothered installing the mod that supposedly improves it.

Positive, 'professional' reviews got me again, just like with DA2 (I did enjoy ME3 though).

My issues with the game after having completed it.

1) The main story-line can be completed in under 15 hours if you avoid sidequests (took me 17 with random sidequests here and there).

17 hours?...power gamed through it? pressing space bar throughout the conversations? played on casual difficulty? what was your level when you finished the game. Screenshot your save file for us please.

I think they made some terrible, TERRIBLE combat choices. No auto attack, no moving with WASD in Tactical mode, no over-the-shoulder tactical mode, no tactics, no attributes. I feel like I'm being gimped and forced to play combat in non-inclusive manner that Bioware desires.

Outside of that, though, this game is incredible. Exploring is actually enjoyable, crafting seems unique (haven't gotten into it yet), and I think they struck an excellent, almost perfect balance between player control (through dialog, tone) and cinematic direction. Plot is way more focused than pretty much most Bioware games out there.

One major WTF thing (SPOILERS HERE): Corypheus. What the heck, Bioware, turning your DLC boss into the key antagonist for an entire game. Maybe I'm wrong, because I've only just reached Skyhold, but that's incredibly, incredibly stupid.

I will say, though, every scene after he and his dragon leaves (Inquisitor going through the cave, trudging through snow, leading the Inquisition to Skyhold) was excellent. Some of the best cinematic direction I've ever seen in a Bioware game. Feels way grander than ME3, and ME3 was the end of a trilogy.

I'm not usually one to tell people that they are playing games wrong. But if you blew through this game in 17 hours - you're doing it wrong.

I agree about the PC controls for tactical camera. It's absolute garbage and Bioware needs to address it.

Although Corypheus being a key antagonist didn't bother me. If anything, the criticism should be that Corph should never have been just a DLC villain in the first place as I think he has enough weight to have been hinted in the main game.

Is he the best Bioware villain? Nope. Is he the worst? Naw.

He's an adequate villain that plays a good role in a decent story.

Only issue I'm having now is the NPC spawning in Skyhold.

I can't seem to get all the NPCs to spawn so I can interact with them and Cullen just doesn't seem to spawn so I can;t turn in his quest.

Not hate, no. A little dissapointed - yes. First few hours were the worst - basically, it was an online RPG without online - and i am not a fan of MMO at all.Monotonous side-quests, aggravating controls (playing on PC), no auto-attack (for me it's a minus), castrated RPG-system (no attribute points allocation - event during character creation), the fact that we have to loot for recources if we want to craft something decent that will upgrade our attributes, no social skills for unique dialogue options and lot's of huge space to run through filled with generic combat....

The truth be told, developer warned about most of it. I expected more DA:O and it was my fault. So, i forced myself to move foward the storyline. And it got better. Epic conclusion to "Act 1", Skyhold, stronghold conquests, judgement, dialogues with companions (yeah, Wheel Of Horror is with us again, but at least it's better now), missions and so on.

So, for now, it's 7 out of 10.

p.s.

I wish DAI has some sort of flying spell. Maker, sometimes i trully i HATE seek entrance to some hard-to-reach point on the map.

My issues with the game after having completed it.

1) The main story-line can be completed in under 15 hours if you avoid sidequests (took me 17 with random sidequests here and there).

2) The ratio of side-quests to the main plot is ridiculous.  It felt like I was playing a single-player mmo, (where the majority of side-quests are fetch quests).

3) I haven't started a second game, but I get the feeling that my decisions don't really matter and that the conclusion to the game would be largely the same regardless of my choices (contrasted against an older RPG like the Witcher 2, where you could miss HALF the game because of your choices - now that's roleplaying.  Witcher 3 is supposed to have over 30 different endings...)

4) The main storyline is TERRIBLE.  Felt like I'd already heard this story with the Oblivion gates... Only I can save the world - blah, blah, blah - constant RPG tropes.  I expected more from Bioware.

5) Controls are brutal on PC - I realize this dead horse has already been beaten... but even the controller setup ain't great.  My ranged units still just sit there firing arrows into the distance while getting pummeled by melee enemies.

6) The romance plot-lines are ridiculous - poorly written fanfiction is what they remind me of.

7) Unintuitive UI and menu after menu after menu.

8) A closed 'open' world where I'm constantly trying to find out how the hell to get past invisible barriers.  The world just feels like a crap-ton of beautifully created corridors that funnel me in random directions.

Tons of other issues I had with the game, but honestly, feels like regression on Bioware's part - like they're now chasing the RPG industry rather than innovating.  I enjoyed DA:O, but even that game paled in comparison to BG2.  I also enjoyed ME for its storyline/setting, but this team that's been working on the past 2 Dragon Ages... my word.  It's like they've never played any of the games that made Bioware the RPG standard in the first place.  Compared to the ME series, that series felt connected throughout its iterations.  Choices truly mattered game-to-game, while here?  Blights and Breaches and personal stories in between - there's hardly any connection at all - it's like Bioware is just throwing random plot-lines and mechanics at the wall and seeing what sticks, with a few dragons thrown in here and there to justify its namesake.

The KillScreen review on Metacritic is the only that really hits on most of my qualms with the game, and even that review was far to generous in my opinion with its 75% score.  While I'll be in the minority here, I wouldn't give this game higher than a 5/10.

This was as holy and divine as the Chant of Light. Speak the truth, that's the word of Andraste. listen to him brothers and sisters!

I've been playing it straight since Tuesday - had the whole week off and on the dreaded PC as well and i love it.  The side quests are appropriate for the type activity going on in the main quest. I love the crafting and the companion missions. I'm having a great time.  My only complaint is the I have to go back to work soon.  Sorry you don't like it but I think they hit it out of the park.

Sorry OP but I don't belive that You finished game in those 17 hours. To get story forward You need to do side quest to get Power points and unblock content. Also what's yours level? I playnig 15 hours right now, Im doing side quests and Im only 6 lvl so even can't close some rifts in a Hinterlands ( there are 12 lvl demons). Any cheats or trainers in use probably?

Anyway I like this game so far. I have no problems with control, lack of healing spells and I don't have any bugs. I like large area of the Hinterlands and I have fun with a side quests. I also enjoy a fights more than I thought before game release ( and Im using tactical view a lot). My only complains are that I didn't sleep a lot since Thursday

I feel  your pain. I've been on "holiday" since Tuesday... No way I'm making it through this game by Monday... I'm at 50 hours and just got past the grand ball/wicked eyes and wicked hearts.

I've been on vacation all week myself. Monday is going to be rough to go back

Personally, I'm very much enjoying the game so far, but I do have to question some of the decisions they made.

I enjoy my side-quests, but I think they went a little nuts. I really think the main story should have been longer and the side quests toned down just a bit. I'm thankful for all the different locations this time (Forbidden Oasis and Hinterlands can go to hell though).

Tactical mode (on the PC at least) is atrocious though. The controls don't feel right and the camera doesn't zoom out anywhere near far enough. Not to mention your view can sometimes get blocked by things in the environment. PC controls in general just feel bad, especially trying to navigate through the inventory menus and stuff that was clearly designed for consoles.

And while the story isn't edge-of-your-seat amazing or ground-breaking, I think they have done a much better job this time around.

Of course, the characters are all (for the most part) amazingly well done. Some I loved (Cassandra, Iron Bull). Some I liked at first and then later not so much (Solas, Vivianne). Others I didn't like at first, then grew to like them (Sera, mostly). Cole was the only one I didn't really like for various reasons. But overall, props to Bioware on all of them.

Not a comprehensive list of stuff, but enough for now.

Overall, I feel it's WAY better than DA2 was, and probably on par with Origins, or at least a really close 2nd place (for me, anyway). Could have been better, sure. The devs have certainly earned some of my respect back. Not all of it. Lets see if they can continue along this path and improve even more.

And now after having one of Bull's quests hopelessly bugged I'm going to stop until they release a patch for the game. I like it a lot, but these bugs are turning even that into intense dislike. So, rather than allow that to happen, putting it down for a week or two. Hopefully by then most of the **** will be gone. I might just zerg my way to the end with this character, my first characters are always throw aways, just to say I've done it. But I'm not hopeful.

My main critics:

1) Bad Menu /UI design. took me several hours to figure out crafting and upgrading. Looks like the 12 year daughter of a Bioware employer designed it.

2) Horrible tactical Cam on PC. In some interiors you cant even zoom out.

3) No auto attack if not in that unplayable tactical cam

4) Sidequests feels like grinding.

The first three points kills the game for me. That was my last Bioware game if that doesnt get fixed.

People only seem to want things.

More open world and what would an open world be without content.  But then it is stupid content filler.

Not enough story, just 15 hours.  A lot of games don't even provide 15 hours.

Romances, I cant have that someone, I wanted the one I can't have.

EA is a big bad wolf and multi nationals are but they are comprised of people.  Often ordinairy people with good hearts.

And on and on it goes.  Discontentment seems to be a new fad.  I'm sorry but the perfect game will be the one you will make yourself and you better see to it to never lend it out or you will be very surprised by the reaction of others.

Not hating it. I am enjoying the game well enough, and I think it is better than DA2. The combat is worse, though. Spawning enemies, so much flash and effects that I can't tell which character is doing what to what enemy, and vice versa. Rotten combat. Everything else in the game is pretty damn good. Exploration is great. Graphics are damn good. The followers seem interesting, as well. I have only just gotten to Skyhold, so I can't really comment on the story as a whole, but it does seem rather forced and linear so far. Too much auto-dialogue in the game, I'd say. The Inquisitor doesn't feel like my character at all. Hawke 2.0.

I love the game, 33 hours and I just got to Skyhold, I also reloaded a lot for romances, choices, quests, so it's probably 40 hours. And this isn't a perfect play-through, I just do the quests I want or on the way. I'm not telling you how to play the game, but I think it'd have been better if you didn't rush though it.

So far all that has really frustrated me is the Oasis zone, with all the up and down and multiple levels it was rather annoying trying to complete everything and find those damn shards... Also, the fact that my companions keep trying to kill themselves by jumping off cliffs and taking fall damage is rather frustrating :P I adore the characters and haven't really found anyone that I really dislike yet, although I seem to keep accidentally pissing Sera off, which is sad because I wanted her to be my bff, lol
