I'm new to the Dragonage franchise and this might be the dumbest question on here. But I have no idea where to go. Is it in the menu. Is it the world map icon on the map? (Can't be cause there is a rift there that spawns level 12 creatures that kill me with 2 to 3 hits. Can't go near there.) Been playing for 12 hours and I want to move on with the story. Help a noob out!
Help. How do I get out of the hinterlands and back to the war table?

pause the game, in the middle of the screen there is a fast travel option that will bring up a map. From there, just move the cursor over haven and hit travel.

And if you ever can't do that, or forget, all the zones have exits in some fashion or another. Look for pentagons with arrows on them near the borders of the zones.
