My Diplomatic Hawke seemed so depressed and tired.

Yeah, but that was pretty much how I pictured my Diplomatic!Hawke would be, so I thought it was great! xD

I've only just met my Sarcastic Hawke and I did think it was a little odd that Fenris wasn't with her except that I took from what she said about it that she was fairly confident

She did seem a little cranky, but I imagine life on the run when you're the posterchild for 'Why the World Sucks' can't be sunshine and kittens, either.

Yeah, also, given how Hawke reacts to a lot of things in the game, like leaving their LI behind, and just being generally cranky, I have a feeling that Hawke had fully expected to

Yeah. I also feel this is a lot of what's going on.

As far as I can tell, Hawke feels like they're responsible for everything. I know that feeling, being the oldest child who has a mother who is very much like Leandra, and I don't think they ever considered any other decision than "my mess, I need to clean it up".

Whether that's true or not isn't the point. The point is (diplo and snarky, not sure about red) Hawke tends to have an overly strong internal feeling of control (which, I gotta add, is part of the reason I love DA2: the protagonist still has a lot of the "I'm the hero of this story so I'm going to change things" urge, but the amount of power they have over the situation is pretty close to nil.

It's funny reading this thread, because when I first met Hawke, I was afraid I had screwed something up what with how nice she was being. "Oh, we all made some bad decisions, Anders was ~ trying~." I thought my aggressive mage Hawke who fully drank all of Anders' kool-aid would have been way less apologetic about what had gone down.

She did seem more aggressive once we hit Adamant.

I really wish the love interest played a larger part though. Just a war room quest like the Zevran or Sebastian ones would have been nice!

Yeah Hawke was not the same for me. He was sarcastic but in DAI he was serious. He was against blood magic, killed Anders, and sided with the Templars. I just see it as Hawke going through something major.  I tried to be sarcastic with him and he looked like he wanted to kill me. lol!

DA:I Humerous Hawke is still sarcastic. S/he's just kind of pissed that Cory is out destroying the world, because of them, and that they had to hide for Templars from Templars for years. Forgive them for not giving you a chuckle on demand.

Honestly I loved meeting Hawke again, only thing that made me sad is that she have more personality then the Inqusutor so I almost wanted to play her again. The "Is there a horde of rampaging Qunari I don't know about?" line in particular seems very in character for my middle option Hawke.

I was wondering if anyone who has met purple Hawke can tell me how she acted with them.  Because the Hawke I met seemed more diplomatic than sarcastic.  I checked my playthrough state and she's imported as a purple Hawke.  She also referenced her romance and Carver's fate correctly.  However, aside from one line about a hoard of Qunari she didn't really sound like purple Hawke.   Basically I have no idea whether this is a bug and I've got a diplomatic Hawke or if her dialouge is reused across Hawkes.

(in case this information helps: I used a custom Hawke but she's listed in my playthough worldstate as the default (with the correct personality) which is a whole different bug; and I took the option to use the CC when I was asked).

F hawke he could act like a drunken monkey and I still wouldn't give a sh.

All of my hawkes were bipolar as hell I think they are all some form of aggressive I would always start out trying to play nice then my sister would die or go to the circle or wardens then my mom would die and I'd just flip out and turn into a total lunatic.

Yep, I agree. Reposting something I wrote earlier on another thread:

I'm not too happy with Hawke's dialogues though. Sudden changes of tone, fragmented personality, always serious, angry [spoiler stuff], few jokes with Varric (I expected them to be a riot) etc. Yes, there are conflicts everywhere and holes in the sky, but her experience in Kirkwall wasn't exaclty idyllic. If she looked sad or guilty after [spoiler stuff], it would have been understandable, but she was almost always serious and came off a bit out of character compared to DA2. In DA2 you could see purple Hawke be genuinely happy, sad, angry or tired through the jokes and deadpan comments. In DAI everyone seemed like a pissed diplomatic Hawke.

I think this mostly has to do with recycled lines for all three main tones. The few times she said something snarky it was perfect.

The only thing I don't like about my Hawke was that he was a diplomat, but from his voice he actually sounded more aggressive.
