Hello fellow gamers,

I am also trying to get to that last piece, said to be in the wolves hallow.  I would like to just cheer on the people here that are so creative in their game play :)  It was fun to read this forum!

GO GUYS GO

(okay yeah that was really corny.. but it was from the heart)

I managed to complete 3 of the Mosaics in my last pt keep in mind i didn't search for them explicitly i just stumbled on to them.

(The 1 in Hissing Wastes is the easiest to complete i think).

I had : Archdemon, invasion and another 1.

I would have to check how far i got some of the others, but most of them i got 10/12

However i wonder what the use is of them? I expected some sort of reward but nah... nothing? Or only when you have them all?

Als the 'interpretation' of the mosaics is rather meh..

According to the list of achievements there is nothing related to the mosaics?

A little different issue I have here. Read my explanantion below before you respond to this next bit, I currently have 7/12 pieces of the fall and only 6 are found in the guide below.

Mosaic locations from the wiki
http://dragonage3.wi...m/Mosaic Pieces

  • 1 Piece in Winterwatch Tower after climbing up two ladders.
  • 1 Piece in Redcliffe Road by entering a broken tower (and climbing up the ladder), just southwest of the Blood Brothers quest encounter.
  • 2 Pieces in Valammar. One next to the second gear piece in the Hall of Elders, the other inside of the Vault.
  • 1 Piece in a ruined house east of Fort Connor along West Road.
  • 1 Piece in the Fort Connor landmark.
  • 1 Piece in the Dungeon northwest of Redcliffe Farm Camp in Dead Ram Grove.
  • 1 Piece on top of the Dungeon northwest of Redcliffe Farm Camp in Dead Ram Grove. Guide on how to reach it
  • 1 Piece in the locked farm house just northwest of Redcliffe Farms Camp.
  • 1 Piece leaning against the house where you recruit Blackwall in Lake Luthias area (south of Upper Lake Camp).
  • 1 Piece at the top of the western tower in the Grand Forest Villa.
  • 1 Piece in an unknown location. (Supposedly Wolf Hollow, but unreachable due to an issue)

The problem is by the guide I should only have, the crossed out ones, only 6. I have not been to valamarr or forest villa, nor do i have deft hands yet. So I know where 11 out of 12 are located, but I have not found any in wolf hollow or been able to get on top of the dungeon and look up there.

Where I found number 7 is the front right corner based on the front door inside the farmhouse where you get the irritating find the druffalo quest, I decided to rob the guy and found it. Can other people find this piece?

Edit:
I just got the piece on top of the dungeon for 8/12 and with known locations for the other 4, I can complete it once i get deft hands. Can someone with deft hands confirm this? I need 3500 influence to get the next perk point.

Edit 2: Disregard the above, I thought I got a mosaic piece in a previous playthrough in a mastercraft locked building but I must have confused myself over which building was which.

Varric has Deft hands so you can use him in your party if you don't have it yet

Confirmed that the 12th mosaic piece in the Hinterlands isn't accessible?

And is in Wolf Hollow?

I currently have 11 of 12 pieces from the hinterlands and just wasted 2 hours running around confirming each location on the two maps from the first pages. Have the two in Valammar, I just did that tonight.

And ARRRRGH!!! Can't finish the mosaic in the Western Approach due to a block blocking the cave opening after killing the dragon. Tried fade step, but didn't work. :(  Missing those two......

So wonderful.....two mosaics I can't complete.... :'(

Get a warrior with the grappling chain ability and wedge them into the side of the rock, then use the grappling chain, it will break the rock.

Any rogue can open those doors, but the Deft Hands, Fine Tools perk has to be chosen first. Varric does not have Deft Hands, Fine Tools prior to obtaining that perk. It would kind of defeat the purpose of having the Perk to begin with.

Since it wasn't mentioned in the notes of patch 3 can I assume nothing was changed regarding the unobtainable & glitched pieces along the visual error in Skyhold?

Yeah, it's not fixed in the latest patch. I investigated all of Wolf's Hollow with no success. It sucks. The other collection issue, the 21st Region in the Exalted Plains, did get fixed. But still no mosaic...

^ that video was already shared earlier, and many of us used it to attempt to get to it. those who got close to it unfortunately could not stay in the rock and instead get pushed through and into the hollow area

anyway, I came back to see if anyone made progress or if the patch fixed it but it got no mention. looks like a no to both of those. that rather sucks, but I think we might have another patch before I could finish an entire playthrough so I might be able to return later. i actually dropped the game for a while due to this and the Dorian quest bug affected me on my second playthrough. at least one of them was fixed...

Guess I am lucky I have not been affected by the Dorian bug or the Solas one. Romanced Josie, Cass, and Bull so far. Thinking of making a Qunari woman next for Sera.  The missing/UNOBTAINABLE mosaic yeah..  With them adding the EP 21st region and deathroot seeds I am happy.

So I have no idea how to internet (read: upload a pic from my pc) since this is my first post, But!  I may have found us an entrance to the fabled 12th piece!

If you go up on the ledge where that crate is for the whatever quest in Wolf's Hollow (don't hate me, I'm 107 hours in, I can't remember the name :( ) and then begin to proceed (faceing the crate) to your left, carefully around the hex-stones, you'll notice an opening in the stones that appears to lead behind the cliff face.  You'll also notice what appears to be a larger opening a little higher up and slightly to your left.  I am going to use the same cine tool the person that found piece 12 used and see if I can map out a route.  But in the meantime, anyone that wants to try finding a way up there (I'm terrible at wall and cliff jumps) and see if you can find a way in, that's awesome.  Best of luck everyone!

Edit: welp, that sucked.  Definitely cannot get up there that way.  I did see someone managed the mount-jump trick at the hex steps to the left of the entrance to the hollow, and managed to continue on to the Right side once up.  Has anyone else managed this?  I cannot, sadly, do that, I have to keep going around left, then hit a place where I cannot find a way to keep jumping around (which would bring me almost right above the crate where the 12th piece is in the cliff).  If someone finds a way to go to the 12th piece's "cliff wall" via the right, maybe they can try some stuff to get in there?

If you're referring to Safeguards Against Looters crate at Wolf Hollow in Hinterlands, that area has been searched many times. There's no such opening among the stones.

The mount trick doesn't seem to be needed anymore, as in my last two playthroughs, I've found that piece inside the Cave instead. Sadly, Wolf Hollow is still a no-show, leaving it stuck as 11/12 for the Hinterlands.

They really need to fix it and that bug that causes some of the mosiacs to appear as incomplete even if you find all the pieces.

Third patch, and an issue that's been on the first page of this subforum for the majority of the time still hasn't been fixed or even addressed at all.

Good job.

Not fixed the mosaic piece, not fixed the Solas personal quest bug, not fixed the Cullen disappearing bug...

But at least now the gold/influence dupes have been fixed and the game has lost replayability! Right, guys? :wizard:

The Solas personal quest and Cullen disappearing are bugs that are not effecting all consumers, so they are not being given a higher priority. The missing mosaic and the EP zone as well as the deathroot seed does effect all players on all clients (pc/console), The EP zone and the seed being added in the coming patch will not take as much work as the mosaic piece all three are in the game just the seed and zone are not being triggered where as the mosaic tile will require them to either move the piece entirely or take out the outer stones to make it accessible. The gold/influence dupe should not effect the games replayability it just means people will have to work harder to get their Perks and gold in the game, my first playthrough I did not use them and ended the game with plenty of gold and my perks were max'ed. People will need to start doing the acquisition quest from the quartermasters, and before people say those quest do not yield influence points they do around 250 for the first time you do that particular quest and I believe 225 on any subsequent turn ins.

Only issue I have with patch 3 is so far it is PC only, and I have yet seen any talks about them making a console patch to fix the mess.

I've only been getting 100 influence myself. Whether it was the first time doing them, or consecutive. Needlessly to say once you hit Inquisition Level 7 or 8, it stops being a sustainable use of resources, particularly rare ones. Not to mention repetitive actions dozens of times for a single perk or two is not exactly "fun".  Not saying they shouldn't have fixed what was technically a bug, but acquisitions are hardly the same thing as that was.

Anyway, on topic. I get that having to edit the terrain for accessing the last two Hinterlands pieces takes a bit more time, but this is something that has been broken since Day 1, not to mention a quest. Had this simply been a visual glitch, or some form of mundane hiccup, I'd understand it being put in the back burner. Taking 2 months and with 3 patches under their belt and not doing so however, seems silly. Particularly when you think "Did no one bother to get all 12 pieces during testing?" Seems like they would want to make sure all quests are working properly. In any case, I will just continue doing play-throughs, and not finishing that particular part until it is fixed. Doesn't mean I'll be happy about it though.  :P

It is baffling that so far as I know this issue hasn't even been brought up by any of the devs and as others have said it is odd that a quest from Day One has not been fixed or even mentioned yet. What the devs need to understand is that running around collecting mosaic pieces takes quite a bit of time like most collectables and by not fixing the last piece it makes alot of that time feel wasted which leads to frustration.

Please Bioware just at least take notice of this issue even just to say you know it exists and will eventually fix it :)

The Solas personal quest and Cullen disappearing are bugs that are not effecting all consumers, so they are not being given a higher priority.

But they are, arguably, essential to the narrative, and Solas' quest bug is effecting the majority of consumers, to the extent that some players don't even know there is a final Solas quest.

So, I take it that there is still no way to get the piece in the wolf's den?

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that I will be releasing a Community Patch to the Nexus soon, that fixes the Wolf Hollow mosaic being unaccessible (There is absolutely no way to get to it, its actually inside of a stone mesh, as far as I could see from viewing the actual level in another tool, please do tell me if there is indeed a way to obtain it). It places the mosaic down in the little Wolf Den in Wolf Hollow. See screenshot below. It also fixes another Mosaic "The Dragon" having the wrong Plot ID, so even though you could complete the quest, it would not complete the Mosaic.
