I can confim that there is nothing up the ladders in the dragon valley as far as I can see.

I got up there by using the "f" key and some camera angling to get the ladder in sight after that there is another ladder up there. I got to the next platform with the fade step skill.

But yeah in the same boat as you guys would be so nice if we could get some word on the matter if its just bugged or if the pieces are outsite of the hinterlands.

I hate this stuff as annoying as the 20/21 regions in exalted plains problem

pic of me being up there http://i.imgur.com/mK3ANDe.jpg?1

awww, just made this account to tell people that i didn´t find anything after making it up there.

Thanks to you both for this!

Maybe it's just me, but at this point it would be really nice to get an official response on if this is bugged or are they really just that well hidden. If it's the latter, cool, we'll just keep looking. If it's the former - at least me and others will stop wasting our time looking and just wait for a fix.

The mosaics and the last bottle collectible are driving me a little bit crazy now. Think i have covered the hinterlands 5 or 6 times now, not to mention the same for the western approach or even the dales. 10/12 for invasion, 10/12 for the fall, 11/12 for the archdemon and 11/12 for freed are slaves. Surely they were not meant to be this hard to find.

I'm wondering if the one secrets perks that supposed to reveal logging stands and the like also reveals mosaic pieces locations

It does not, only quarries and logging stands, arguably the most useless perk in the game since after those 3 upgrades to Skyhold + the first ever requisition you get at Haven there is nothing that uses those resources.

Also, anyone saying they are not bugged sure is lucky. The ones in the Western Approach for example are impossible to obtain for me, because after the dragon fight I left and now the stone blocking the cave is still there with the dragon dead. There is no way to tell if I have already gotten one in my travels, forcing me to go back to every. single. place. marked on these maps. On those maps, they are useless, since they didn't steal Skyrim's map for some reason, when they should have. It's impossible to tell if the pieces are in a place like Valammar or the Tevinter places in the Western Approach, or in a cave, due to the design they chose with this map. And to end my rant, due to bugs people have reported with the mosaic in the Hinterlands Wolf Lair for instance, its impossible when going back to those places to know if I really collected them or they're just not showing up due to the forementioned bugs.

Just please don't say this system is good/working as intended, it hurts my soul a little bit to read it.

I'm struggling with this, too. The Prima e-guide shows 9 on the map, not including the 2 in Valammar:

1. Dead Ram Gorge (the "Dungeon" in the northwest, which also has a veilfire glyph)

2. In the cabin east of the landmark in the middle of the farms (Tyrdda's Lover); you end up here at the completion of Hinterland's Who Who.

3. The cave called Wolf Hollow (where you go to defeat the wolves to prove to Master Dennet you can keep the horses safe)

[this is possibly bugged and/or does not appear]

4. On the roof of the western guard tower in Grand Forest Villa (the mini-fortress to the southwest)

5. In Fort Connor (not really a cave, just a half-collapsed tower of sorts just northwest of center)

6. Inside the square cabin just east of Fort Connor (you'll have to do a bit of jumping over fallen planks to get this)

7. East of the Templar Camp (IIRC, this one is either actually in the templar camp, so you can pick it up as part of the related quest, or it's in one of two places west of Upper Lake Camp: the cabin where you find Blackwall, or the two-tent mini-camp just north of the wall by that cabin)

8. Directly northeast of the Crossroads, but you have to go up the tower at Redcliffe Road to get it (I think). This should also be almost directly south of a Bottle of Thedas.

9. In one of the towers in the mini-fort that leads to Winterwatch Cave (on the western side of the SE Hinterlands; there's a related quest in which you have to seal a fade rift to convince some religious people you're the real deal).

10-11. In Valammar: one in the Vaults and one in the big room where you find the second gear.

12. unknown

Any help with the last would be greatly appreciated (as would any corrections). It would really suck if this thing were glitched... (Unfortunately, I think it might be, as I've checked the 11 known places but have only 10 tiles registered.) It would also be very helpful if we could see which tiles were missing. The mosaic image under the menu (Collections > Mosaics) doesn't accurately reflect how many you have.

ETA: All 12 of the Archdemon tiles were found in the Western Approach, so I think it's restricted to the Hinterlands.

Also, I'm wondering if it's in that room that only

Spoiler

can open as part of an Inner Circle quest.

This is all Correct except [3]. You see what the Prima guide shows is not in Wolf Hollows, but rather in the Astrarium Cave (which is accesed through the mage hideout). That piece though is part of "Freed are the Slaves", NOT part of "The Fall".

Most (All?) locked dungeons, astrarium caves, and "small world" locations have "Freed Are the Slaves" mosaics (e.g Villa in Eerald Graves, Tevinter Dungeon with time frozen demons in Western Approach, etc) except Valamar which has pieces of "The Fall".

I caution you though that I and at least one other person have experienced a bug whereby a completed mosaic will not properly display in Skyhold (http://answers.ea.co.../4061969#M19466). Specifically I have completed 2 of them (Archdemon and Survivor), they show as such in the journal, but one of them has a missing piece when displayed on the Skyhold wall. So be careful in investing too much time. You might end up ripping your hair out in frustration and anger!

There is a tower in the Grand Forest Villa that goes higher and has ladders up beyond what we can get to. I wonder if a second piece is hidden within there. *shrug* since no one can seem to find the 12th mosaic tile....including me.

Could you show me screenshot of the mosaic piece in that astrarium because it is not there for me. The only things there for me are herbs and the loot container.

On a related note with these mosaics ...do they appear anywhere else besides the throne room hall? I've got one completed, but have 4 others I'm working on. I noticed that aside from the one fully completed, there are two other partially finished mosaics hanging on the walls now when I come back to Skyhold. If they are starting to be hung up and I have 5 total, I'd like to see where the other two are hanging if they are not with these three here :D

Thank you! I've edited my list to reflect the "Wolf Hollow" piece is in the astrarium cave.

I've also run into the completed mosaic display glitch. At first I thought it was because Skyhold hadn't completely been fixed (that happens around Here Lies the Abyss/Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts), but that hasn't fixed it, so I've given up on it being resolved except through a patch.

It must suck for the developers that all their hard work in designing and implementing artistic extras like this is being marred so severely by glitches (both world-wise and display-wise).

The other two are on the wall across from Vivienne's area but only after the scaffolding is removed.

i also don't have the mosaic piece in the astrarium cave. can somebody confirm that it's there? if it is indeed bugged it would be interesting to know at what point in the game you opened the cave (i always open it before skyhold)

I would love to give you a screenshot as would, I'd bet, most folks here who've posted; I'd say most of us can't provide one because we found and looted the mosaic piece already.

Pretty sure I got the piece in the astarium cave after I got to Skyhold.

Any luck from anybody on the missing mosaics in the Hinterlands?

I know I'm missing at least 2, maybe 3. The guide book shows 9 not counting the 2 in the mine.

I did find a tile in the Wolf Den. It was on the second level. If you are having trouble finding the second level, I can replay that area and post with specific details. However, I am still stuck at 10/12. I will go back and try the high dragon area. I thought I scoped that out though.

Ok, 10/12 on "The Fall", just like everyone else. 12/12 on "Freed Are Slaves", can confirm those all exist and are mostly in side quest areas I've noticed (like the Dirthamen Temple). I'm also 12/12 in the Western Approach, but I'm 11/12 for "Invasion". Anyone have 12/12 on that one?

Yes please do and a pic of where you found the tile in the Wolf Den would be awesome :)

VLad, I don't think anyone realizes this.

Does this stem from you finishing the game and finding them due to a plot twist we haven't gone through, yet?

Astralpulse, on 24 Nov 2014 - 11:02 AM, said:

You managed to find all 12 of the Archdemon ones in Western Approach? I have all the Landmarks, all regions discovered, but am only at 10/12 there for mosaics. I guess I'll keep looking around.

Also 10/12 here for Hinterlands as well, so as to remain on topic.

There are 2 that are only accessible after defeating the Abyssal High Dragon, so spare yourself some effort if you haven't gotten there yet. I'll update this post in a bit with locations of all 12.

OK, here goes, spoilered for those uninterested:

Spoiler

1. In the small-ish cave called Sand Rock Mine, just to the east of the southern entrance to the Forgotten Mine

2. In the Venatori stronghold (The Still Ruins dungeon) in one of the treasure rooms; IIRC, you need the masterwork lockpicking perk from Leliana to open the door.

3. In a cave directly west of your first camp, SW of the Still Ruins. There is a landmark here for the Lost Idol.

4. In the astrarium cave (that is, the one unlocked by all three astraria) underneath the crumbling wall with the Bottle of Thedas. There should also be a glyph here.

5. Directly west of that cave, down a set of stairs that gives the landmark the Hidden Stairway.

6. In a cave in the hillside NE of nos. 4-5; there is another landmark here, called The Thing in the Dark.

7. Underneath Griffon Wing Keep in the cave you can enter through a magic barrier. There is a well here through which you can infiltrate the keep and the eponymous landmark.

8. Between Echo Back Canyon Camp and the Andoral landmark. In order to get to this one, you need to have completed the darkspawn operation at the war table and cleared out Coracavus. (There is no tile for the Archdemon in there, but there is one for Freed Are Slaves.) That dungeon spits you out right in front of Echo Back Camp, and most of the quests in this new area (just north of your first camp, formerly blocked off by the Gates of Toth) take you to the southeast, so this tile is easy to miss. Instead of SE, you want to head SW from the camp until you get to a mini-settlement with several tables and tents. The tile is propped against one of those -- I believe it was on the right as you face SW.

9. In Echoback Fort, SSE of Echo Back Canyon Camp. IIRC, you have to climb the ladder on the east wall and turn south (really the only way to go once you're up there). It should be in the square lookout tower there.

10. In the Chantry cave that is literally the feature farthest south on the map. I don't know if this cave appears before you follow the Chantry signs to it (there's a side quest that makes you examine each one), but once you get there knock down the magic barrier and help yourself. (Also some very interesting codex entries that tie into one of Cassandra's personal quests.)

11-12. Defeat the Abyssal High Dragon, which requires a ton of side quests for Mssr. Frederic (manuscript gathering, hunting pattern identification, text translation at the war table, destroying traps, resetting traps, et cetera). As soon as you do, a monolith blocking the entrance to a "cave" right in the area where you fought her disappears, allowing you to enter the ruins and grab the last two. There is no cutscene or anything, so it's easy to miss the fact that a new area has been opened. I'm using scare quotes on "cave" because the entrance is really like a hallway into the ruins, not a natural cave. If you have trouble finding it, the entrance is directly north of the Chantry cave icon. Anyhow, there's some loot in there for killing the dragon (albeit somewhat minor in comparison to the loot from the dragon herself), along with the last two tiles.

this is a copy off the first page, fighting the Abyssal High Dragon and defeating it come later in the game. I found this out because I am still sitting at 10/12 in the Hinterlands for this, and searching several sites. The quote I added comes off the first page, from Vertas753, and I greatly appreciated that person for adding this.

also if someone knows where the last mosaic piece is located in the Hissing Waste, it would much appreciated. I have went to all the locations located http://i.imgur.com/9N26DFM.jpgin here and I have there are no pieces. Which baffles me since the map shows all twelve.

I know the quote I added is for those in the Western Approach, so I looked up to see if others were this way as well and there are
