everyone realizes that the last two pieces do not show up till much later in the game...

when asked for clarification on this post you replied with the quote below

this is a copy off the first page, fighting the Abyssal High Dragon and defeating it come later in the game. I found this out because I am still sitting at 10/12 in the Hinterlands for this, and searching several sites. The quote I added comes off the first page, from Vertas753, and I greatly appreciated that person for adding this.

I know the quote I added is for those in the Western Approach, so I looked up to see if others were this way as well and there are

then tried to explain yourself with this ...which doesn't actually explain anything other than you were quoting about the Western Approach and the fact that you can get all 12 pieces (or rather you did get all 12 there)

This has me (and maybe others) confused. BECAUSE this thread is not about finding mosaic pieces in the western approach but about finding them IN THE HINTERLANDS.

so while I'm grateful that you confirmed what someone posted on page 1 of this thread (which that poster should not have said anything about WA in a thread about hinterlands imo) would you and others mind keeping this thread for JUST INFORMATION ABOUT MOSAICS IN THE HINTERLANDS ...thx. yes I used caps because peeps are getting off topic talking about other mosaic sets. if you do have info about other mosaic sets ...START A NEW THREAD. :D

a little anal retentive are we. I used the quote on the WA mosaics to show precedence for my statement, that to obtain the final two more gameplay i.e. questing is required.

Or perhaps change the title and OP to be inclusive of other areas. I don't think we really want multiple threads about single mosaic sets, do we?

For those curious, I managed to get on to all that scaffolding near the dragon in the hinterlands, there's nothing up here, let alone the mosaic pieces we're looking for.

You can actually access the mosaics before AND after you kill the abyssal dragon. Get a warrior with the grappling hook ability, wedge them in the space on the left side of the rock blocking the way and have them use the ability through the rock. It will burst the rock and grant you access to the cave I had to do this myself because I found it on another forum. So if you missed the chance with the dragon like me, or don't want to do the quests for it yet, you can get those two pieces. It only took me one try,

so the last two require fighting the abyssal dragon before they are open on the map??

I couldn't post a pic unfortunately, but head to wolf hollow.  In the first clearing, turn left. Your mini map should be showing north. Circle around to the right and if you tilt the camera up, you should see a wooden walkway above you. Continue around to the right and you will see a small dirt path that leads up the rocks. Take the wooden path to the right toward a statue and there is the tile and a loot chest. I think I found a tile in the mage hideout also. I still only have 10/12 though. Hope that helps. :)

To make it clear, the Mosaics are all zone or region specific except "Freed Are Slaves".  They even say so in their description.

All of "The Fall" pieces are in Hinterlands (and its dungeon), 2 have not been located possibly due to a bug.

Western Approach has all 12 pieces for one Mosaic.

Hissing Wases has all 12 for another Mosaic.

The "Dales" (emerald graves and exalted plains) have, between them, all 12 for another one.

Freed Are Slaves are all located in Astrarium Caves and Dungeons.

Decided to start a new play thru ...just to see if I can get some accurate info out on where these mosaics are in the Hinterlands. Will be taking pics and posting so folks know exactly where they are and to get an accurate accounting of which are missing :P

i think there might be more spawn points than pieces or something. i was randomly loading up some old playthrus in hinterlands and in one of them there was indeed a piece in wolf hollow...but in that playthru (it was my first one at release) i hadn't attempted finishing hinterlands until after i'd done arbor wilds. in my most recent playthru, where i didn't find the wolf hollow or hinterland's astarium piece, i found an extra mosaic piece in still ruins (western approach dungeon). both primaguides and game-maps show only 1 piece in the ruins, but i got two for the slave set...

either that, or the mosaic pieces are just totally bugged

i'll be starting a new playthru soon. we should compare notes :P

Both my playthrough's the pieces where in the exact same places.  Neither had one in wolf den, in both cases I got all the pieces except the 2 in Hinterlands nobody can find.

Also, prima guides doesnt show the locations of Freed Are Slaves if they are in dungeons and there is only one Freed Are Slaves mosaic inside Still Ruins.  There is also one just outside Still Ruins but that is for ArchDemon mosaic.

Here is where I found all the Mosaics both times through:

The Fall is the last one I have remaining to complete. It must be bugged I've found just about all the other collectibles besides this one.

I don't know whats worse, the fact this seems bugged or that fact that the nice fancy Prima Guide... seems more like a book of suggestions then an actual guide.

Pray to the Maker, the Seven, the Old Gods, and the Drowned God, that they patch it.

I'm certain there was at least one or even two in redcliffe dungeons when you're sent to the future if you choose the Mage mission (and most likely the same are available if you do the Templar mission instead)... can't confirm whether they're both from The Fall though. If you miss these, you don't get a second chance.

But the templar mission isn't even in Redcliffe!  Grrr... I really don't want to go back to do that again.  Please provide proof.

All mosaics are in places you can return to at any time. (except the ones in the Abyssal Dragon Cave since that is bugged)  You wont find them in any special quest instances that are not accessible once you complete that mission.

Why would so many people all miss the same 2 mosaics in the "you're in the future" segment, and we wouldn't get anyone with 11/12, either?

No, it HAS to be that these two mosaic pieces are nonexistent. DLC? Maybe. Doubtful. Patch? Yeah, sure, but where to put them.

"Sorry, fans - check again! We're sure they're out there this time!"

Hrm. Making them available at the dude in Val Royeaux that sells the oddities that you've missed, maybe? Seems lame. Make it 10/10? Doesn't fit the mosaic tiles on the wall like the rest of them anymore... but who's complaining?

Maybe they should add an operation in a patch, containing the final two pieces, but still part of the vanilla game. Make it like a 1.1 patch including some conversation bug fixes (Solas after Wicked H/M) or something.
