I've been testing out the upgrade tor Grappling chain, Give Them The Boot, with Blackwall, but the ability never stuns the enemy. The target falls to the ground, but does not have the stunned status effect. Therefore, I cannot perform detonations / cross-class combos. Am I doing something wrong, or are others having this problem as well?
Warrior ability Give Them The Boot fails to stun

I also noticed that grappling chain does no damage at all, just pulls the enemy (if possible).

I thought it was me. Grappling chain, if you aim very well, does pull the target to you. However, I too noticed little to no damage done by this skill. I'm guessing the damage done is so low when compared to the higher HP's of the bad guys in DA:I that you can't notice it, even if there is some damage being done there. Even low level bad guys have thousands of hit points, whereby the grappling chain does a couple of hundred points of damage at best. I think its an insignificant amount of damage that maybe hard to tell while in the midst of combat.
Or it is simply lame or broken. Lol.

It does work, and it is a knockdown, stun.
Which is much better. It synergies both with stun and knockdown damage bonuses.
Your first attack you recieve, which knocks down and recieve extra damage on knocked down targets, works well after a pull, boot combo.
Already at level 5 I hit an archer for 1000 damage with that combo. Pull, Knockdown, then the massive knockdown blow that gives bonus damage on knocked down enemies. Now I have that attack also buffed with the bonus damage to knocked down opponents.
Those 3 ability points should be the first you spend on a 2h warrior. basically its 3 ability points for a 1 kill combo on anything early game. Especially vs spell binders and archers.
The damage it does is not that strong but it should not be either, 200% weapon damage or so, and yes it does do that damage.
I just had to start a warrior to try it out, as I otherwise play an Archer. And that combo alone ment I had a ton of fun.

The pull does no damage, no numbers show up, but the kick does damage however. It only knocks downthough, doesn't stun.

Seems like there are conflicting reports. I wonder if it is a bug related to companions. I've only tried it using Blackwall. Waagabond, I assume you were using the player character when you had success with this combo. When you hovered over the stunned enemy using tac-cam did it say stunned? TK8, what character did you test the ability with?

I used it on the PC, no damage on chain, only on kick, and no stun, only a knock-down.
Oh, and I noticed kick does 100% damage, not 200%.
