Glad there are mods to fix this. What I am using for the different races so far..
Qunari Male
edit: was deleting and cleaning up all my pics. removed links to pics that are gone.
Honestly, only qunari's here look good enough to beat the actual armor we can get to wear via cheat engine.
And I will refrain from commenting on what the elf is wearing... ![]()

The problem is that Cheat Engine crashes my game out ever since the latest patch. If it was only one CTD every hour or so I could deal with it, but it's several within 5ish minutes. There is a more "lore friendly" elf jammy replacement:

Hint - don't use it if you don't like it.

And I can't run DAI manager succesfuly lol.
Well, at least I've got the dalish scout armor for elves.

I meant only that the mods can't beat in-game content and if BW won't do something with this bs it ain't end well for them in the long run.
Modding and Bioware go hand in hand. The games have been modified to suit players taste for a very VERY long time. KOTOR was heavily modded. DAO was modified even more. DAII has quite the number despite not having any sort of toolset - fan or otherwise. I think Bioware is fine while modders do their thing. But I guess that's why you struck that out.And I can't run DAI manager succesfuly lol.

Yeah, I guess someone forgot to tell BW that when they teamed up with EA and moved to the new engine.
I can't really say that modding added anything for me in DAO or DA2, despite I never had a problem with installing them. Clothes mods were useless and I could live just well without the appearances tweaks and such. Nothing beats devs creations in the end, some mods can be good it's true but majority are but a feeble attempts, they don't look natural for some reason. Skyrim and Witcher somehow gets better looking modded items, and so does dark souls.
And depending on modders alone doesn't help the fact that BW getting lazier and lazier with each game and don't even try to provide decent armor or hairstyles. You like the mods? Good for you. But it doesn't change the fact that this game sucks regarding the charcter creation (because of the hair) and armor representation (which is ridiculous for an rpg game) and the mods alone can't help it.

I'm actually ok with the hairstyles. I'd glady keep them if that meant I could have higher rez hair and armor.
But... there are too few of them.
The same could be said about the armor, most of them are just the variations (except for race specific ones, such as the dalsih scout armor and such). I'd be ok if they just gave us the access to the companions hairstyles and companions and npcs armor. Or at least the mp armor for singleplayer.
I also don't like that we can't change all of the colors of the armor if it's not T3 schematics (and I absolutely hate the fact that we can change some colors only by using the masterwork cloths). And the fact that there are also too few colors we can change it too and some of them have hideous patterns like silk brocade. In fact I ended up using only silk brocade, white samite, highever weave, ring velvet and royal sea silk for pc. That's depressing. I don't even want to start on the fact that we can't change some colors (like leather parts on the formal attire) for no reason at all. And some colors look bizzare on that as well (white is never white and black is never black).
I just can't even. My perfectionism is killing me.

But the most infuriating of all, which was mentioned many times - blasted companions look just fine. Their clolthes, their hair and faces - it's all look natural and unique. Heck, even goddamn venatori mages look good in their robes. And why? Either because people responsible for them were different people from that who made the pc stuff or they simply don't understand what the players will be looking for in a pc, so that's why all we have are so hideous. Because pc is a carboard puppet for them, not a character unlike Hawke for instance. Their looks and armor (champion set I mean) looked good, all three variations ofit. Because he was planned and they knew what they have to look like, what he should be. With the Inq I feel like they had no idea what players would've liked to see at all. I really, really like the setting, the lore and the story in DA,but all those little things prevent me from enjoying the actual gameplay in it's fullness.
Yeah, several people asked the mod author in the nexus thread on it and the author said no. However, they do provide the means of making the modifications yourself. Alas, I am not a modder so I have no idea how to do it on my own.
The provided source files make it pretty easy to make a no-keyhole version...

Spoiler
but yes. Thank God for mods. There's a new human female on the Nexus that looks great and stays in lore.![]()
I grabbed that one to see what it looked like in game. It does look nice.

To be honest, the first mods I installed for DAO were mods that fixed bugs and glitches and enhanced the story - especially stuff that was in the code but not in the game due to bugs - and not the visual mods. Leliana's bugged romance, all the missing triggers or misfiring triggers, and the stuff that was written and intended to be in the game but weren't due to bugs and glitches? Hells, yes, we need those mods. DAI has plenty of those kinds of glitches (Morrigan's 'eflsplaining' to a Dalish Inquisitor, Alistair's missing codex card, and entire conversations that are missing because they simply aren't being triggered), and I hardly think those are high on the list of 'things to fix' for Bioware/EA (especially EA). (And that doesn't even mention the many bugged quests!) So please, gimme dem mods, especially the ones that are true bugfixes. Or UI fixes (like getting rid of the awful font they chose for codex entries).

Whyyyyyy haven't you shared this with your adoring fans? I don't like that window on the female armor from the mod you got the source files from, but that looks perfect!

Well, that's nice - if you know how to use the modding tool and any other tools needed to edit source files. Not everybody knows how to do that. I like taking beautiful screenshots and putting the wonderful mods that people make to good use. We all have our niche. ![]()
At this point I can't even get the modding tool to work. I get a crash right as it gets to the end of reading all the files upon initial start-up (which is a pretty common problem based on what I've read). My old version from the beginning of January still works - not sure if I can still use that one though.

A new-new one was already released, likely due to the issues you cite - v1.20 is available now. And the new one is necessary to use to build mods in the new standard. But you should check out the new v1.20 - i was crashing with 1.17 and earlier, and since 1.16 came out this morning, it seems like it really went through a lot of revisions quickly. I've been using it now for a while, and it seems pretty stable.

Yeah the one I tried is 1.20. It runs for about 30min the first time scanning everything and then crashes.
Even if I could get it to work, I have no idea how to edit source files. What I know about modding couldn't even fill a thimble. I'm an artsy-fartsy photographer, not a modder.
It's no big deal - I can deal with what I have til someone posts it up. Either way, anything is better than stock pj's since CheatEngine no longer works for me to use armor in Skyhold.

Yeah, that's understandable. I'm just using it atm to extract resources and freakin' change the font for the codex. Haaaaate that font. I like to be able to read my lore thank you. And yes, even the Nugjamas are better than the stock pj's (well, the Nugjamas are kinda cute actually). But the Beige Skyhold outfit? *shiver* I think they put those in the game to spur the modders on without making it obvious that's what they were doing with EA's 'oh this can't be modded' stance about Frostbite. Riiiiight.
That, or they have a secret DLC that allows you to use your armor in Skyhold that they'll sell for $9.99. Instant best-selling DLC, guaranteed.
For me, it's the way the PJs fit that bugs me so recolors have the same problem. They look like they are spray painted on poor Quizzy. CE lets me wear armor in Skyhold and, that's better than spray paint.

Now that I can't use CE anymore, I've learned to live with the jammies. Since you can still see them under armor, I now head-canon that the IQ shucks off all the armor pieces upon entering skyhold, leaving just the jammies - sorta like kicking off your work boots and leaving them at the door:

god i wish xbox had mods ![]()
Doesn't the article say that there were plans for different outfits but they are not planning on adding that any longer?

I finally nabbed some screenies showing my guy's jammies. This mod makes it look like my Dalish elf attacked the original set with a needle and thread galore. I love the subtle sense he made the jammies his own, and to heck with this whole human-esque propriety thing:

I love the female jammies with the cutout, but I kinda wish the cutout wasn't there. My inquisitors have a wide range of skin tones, so I couldn't pick one and have it work for everyone. Although... thinking about it some more, maybe it would work if I chose the darkest. That way, the dark insert could be an undergarment.
