Had a few games, so far things have been stable and pretty fun. I have been playing the keeper. The one problem so far is the groups themselves I have entered games with guys higher than me and they just run off at top speed into battle without waiting for the keeper to get in range to help. Have been victorius in one game and croaked on the last wave of the others mainly due to poor team work. No one with a mic so far. This is on the Xbone.

tried a few games. lagging as hell, as well, some shitty players. keeps kicking people for being level one, despite the fact that the game only just unlocked a few hours ago. huge turn off.
also controls are horrible. feels like a console port. and yes, i play on pc. i also played on ps4 at a friends place, frankly, DAIMP on ps4 was easier to control. if it's that bad, then why not just make it a cross platform mp game. since the argument against cross platform was always PC players gets the advange. well you know, it's not a shooter

I've been enjoying IMP (because DAMP is a goofy acronym) so far despite the weird controls, always on open mic "feature" and quite frequent blackscreens and join game stucks. I wouldn't say it's better than ME3MP but then they're too different to be comparing them to begin with.
Also on a side note, F*ck the demon faction. Bastards make geth look like amateurs with their stunlock.

It's definitely a different experience than ME3MP. Here's a few notes from playing (a bit too much) MP this week:
- The controls are definitely awkward as hell w/ KB+M. I made some fixes w/ AHK that work well w/ Archers/Melee folk etc, but not so good if you need to AoE target. Also adds personal mic muting and a few other things: http://forum.bioware...s-w-autohotkey/
- While there are some steps backwards (no icon showing lack of mic or push to talk), there are some nice UI improvements - notably, there's an in-game kick and per-person muting (seems to be 2-way, so when a person is muted they automatically can't hear you either, which is less than ideal but fine).
- The mic stuff in general is still a problem - there's no way to control mic levels/loudness so me an my friends basically have to turn down dialog/sfx/music sounds all the way down to communicate in-game. You can audio options in-game at least (this is a pain if you are playing MP+SP since you have to keep switching)
- Back to ME3MP UI improvements, another big one is that when you're joining a game you always get to the lobby screen, even as a drop in which is pretty nice - lets you scope out the situation before you join. Still no ping or connection info, or a lot of info on your lobby folk in PUGs (gear is a lot more important than level)
- Which leads to the biggest issue so far - joining a game successfully seems to be an adventure itself. When PUGing, I seem to spend as much time in loading screens as in a match. Here's my summary of what I've encountered: http://forum.bioware.../#entry17839640
- Also, the game/MP is crashy as hell. Me and my friends get dumped unceremoniously to the desktop fairly regularly.
Now, onto the game itself (if you can host or connect to a game):
- The game is much more loot oriented, and your equipment plays a much bigger role in how well you do, especially as there's basically no healing (a couple potions), so how efficiently you take down enemies (DPS) plays a much larger role.
- The classes are fun, and play very differently. Success in higher levels requires good teamwork (tank, good barrier thrower, etc) in a way that say playing Gold in ME3MP doesn't, although that might change w/ gear. For example, your base weapon might be 50 DPS, but a high level rare or epic weapon might have 250-300DPS + all kinds of bonuses, and that's just in the first week w/o any weapon crafting
- The inventory/crafting/upgrading UI is terrible (you have to dive in and out of multiple menu trees to get anything done) but the actual effects and progression is a lot of fun - you need to craft armors to unlock characters, and then you can upgrade armors for different looks/better abilities, and you can upgrade weapons (and craft upgrades and eventually weapons)
- You can basically buy a "large chest" after every successful round, and even though most of the gear is useless you can "salvage" it to get materials for crafting, and at least early on, this is more fun than frustrating. Hopefully there isn't too much UR effect where you're grinding and getting nothing since you can presumably always be "working" towards something. What is frustrating is that weapons are a combination of rarity (Purple uniques having lots of awesome attributes) and level. I've gotten some uniques, but they are low level and I'll just end up using a higher level common weapon because the DPS outclasses it so much. In that way, getting a high level unique is almost impossible. I don't even know how you'd calculate the drop rates.
- Getting to level 20 takes quite a bit longer than in ME3MP (XP requirements increase as you level up) although that'll probably be faster once you can do Perilous (Gold equivalent)
- The skill trees are DA style and a much bigger tree (2) of passives and abilities - there's a fair number of ways to build your character. I guess the way to go is to try to try different skills the first time and then promote for what works w/ more passives - you can only have 4 abilities at any time...
- There is no respec card so you need to promote to respec; exploring skill combinations is gonna be a drag
- Promotions (Prestige) do actually give you a bonus though so they're not totally pointless. Every time you promote, you get a +1 attribute to your toons. ie, you start w/ 10 Cunning (crit chance), but once you promote your Archer you'll have a permanent 11 Cunning for all characters. Not sure what the limit is, but presumably if you promote 100 times you'd have a pretty godly Level 1 character - this would take hundreds of hours so part of the long game.
- I'm not a big MMO guy so for me the combat is new and not as appealing as a shooter. Mobility (any sort of dodges or escape) are special skills some some classes don't have at all. That combined w/ the 4 ability limit makes it feel pretty limiting.
- Currently some classes seem OP, but I hope they don't overbalance things too soon - ME3MP I think suffered a bit from that, but I think DAMP has a lot more skill/cross combos left to explore and because of the class system (needed not just for roles, but also for opening doors to get loot), so hopefully the MP team will be a bit more hands off
- While you have a third person view, combat strategy is definitely more action RPGish - there's no cover mechanics or right hand advantage. Strategy is more about drawing aggro, kiting mobs/adds, etc. Staying behind corners is good though b/c the archers in the game are fricking deadly.
- One thing that's a real bummer is that with low armor/health/ways to recover health and enemies that do a lot of damage, if you don't have guard or a good barrier caster, you can go down super quickly and there's no self-revive or potioning when you go down. It makes things a lot harder than it should be, and also is annoying for the OHK characters (the stalker and demon commander have basically OHK teleports)
- Also the "sprint" is a joke. You can barely tell that you're running faster.
- There are currently 3 "maps" (tilesets) which are pseudo-randomly generated dungeons. It gives a little variety but is really limited. Hopefully there are more tilesets from the SP areas queued up, or more layout pieces get introduced. We'll have to see how the replayability is on that one.
Overall I like the mechanics of the game - certainly enough to play enough to unlock/level 20 all the characters at least (and maybe to try to get some decent gear and be able to master Perilous), but the bugginess of basic stuff like connecting to games is pretty maddening, and that's coming from someone that remembers all the ME3MP beta issues (and create a pretty comprehensive ME3MP open bug list).

It doesn't really compare. If I want fast, dynamic action, headbutts and blue babes running up close to enemies, then nothing can beat ME3MP.
DAMP has some early issues, quirky controls on PC but some nice ideas, it's challenging and brings some fresh rewards to the table. The SP is surprisingly good, too (haven't played a lot of it, though).

How addicting is this game? And what about longevity?
Looks like it's built to give ample opportunities to collect and craft stuff.

I haven't had any problems that way. Only thing crashing has been me to the ground. Dying.
It's sloppy coding. I had to lower the graphic settings below ultra and could play for roughly 5 hours nonstop before I crashed to desktop with another Direct X error. I had ~45fps on average before, now it jumps up to 200fps sometimes, despite being capped at 60 (vertical sync). Just weird.
The most hilarious error was when DA:I crashed and insisted I didn't have enough RAM. ... cause clearly, 32GB are not enough. Haven't had that again yet.
I am getting used to the controls and the loot mechanic. I had to change the keybindings extensively to make it work but at the moment the game feels like Skyrim light.
I think tomorrow I'm ready to have a look at the MP. I just hope it's not a gigantic time sink...

It's fun, the way new things are. I like that promoting characters is rewarded by more than some silly abstraction, that there's no medi-gel and no missiles and no reset power cards, that you can gather/craft equipment instead of playing lottery in the store (the process is still random, but doesn't feel all that random, and doesn't seem to take too long).
I don't think it has the potential to turn into a long-lasting obsession like ME3MP, though.

I'd say just wait until the new year and I'll put you both to shame, but I bet you scrubs are playing it on xbone, aren't you.
Also, how did you beat me to 1000 posts?! you've only had that account for 6 months!

I just spoke with some people who have had this game presumably for more than just a couple of days, and they said "All respec-ing does is increase your stats by 1 every time you prestige."
You don't have to prestige to reset your skill combinations. Just remap the newly acquired skills to the X, Y and B buttons.
