I am curious what happens if you became a Tempest or an Artificer. Anyone has any idea ?
I did reaver but the only special dialogue I remember was Iron Bull saying I smelled wonderful and "dragony." Apparently Qunari really like the smell of dragons. Someone else commented (I'm sorry I don't remember, marathoning this game has made some convos a blur) about how my abilities are similar to bloodmagic, and I was given the opportunity to express my opinion on bloodmagic. I think it was Solas.

Funny enough it is a form of blood magic lol.

It'd be kind of lame if only 2 party members said anything about it. I mean, I feel like Reaver should be on par with Necromancer in how controversial it should be among your companions and their reactions to it.
Can someone please explain to me, what reavers are story wise? I know they drink blood, but what do they get from it?
Right now im tinking about letting my Inquisitor become a templar (even tough hes pro mage) or a Reaver. But im playing him as a good guy, so im not sure about the whole reaver thing yet.

Basically you drink some dragon blood which unlocks the ability to use your own pain to make yourself stronger. It's basically a very specific subset of blood magic, but to the best of my knowledge it doesn't involve actual demons so it's not as bad as "actual" blood magic on that front.

Ritualized drinking of Dragon's blood that gives you heightened aggressive combat abilities.
It's "icky", like Blood Mage, but way less stigmatized in Thedas. People don't like it or anything, but Blood magic has the whole Tevinter association/I can control you/I suck the life force from you thing. Reavers just use Dragon blood, so...

Don't Reavers do that, too? Or is that just a game mechanic and the lore is different, like how rogues and warriors mostly don't have actual super-powers? (Templar/Reaver/etc... skills aside)
Sera called my Champions Standard a flag, such hearsay.
Also you and Gaspard get along better if you're a Champion too.
Being a Champ allowed me to get into a dick-sizing contest with Gaspard. That was cool.

Question for anyone who has gotten far enough...
Do you have to do these quests again on subsequent playthroughs to unlock them, or do they stay unlocked for good in your game?

I doubt it, to get a spec in DAI is not the same as the past games. There's lore to it, you have to do stuff before you learn it. To give an example if oyu want to become a templar you NEED to create a phillter for your lyruim. You must make that so oyu can learn the spec. I just can't see that being unlocked for good as you have to do something that fits the lore of each spec to learn it.

Do you remember what he says?

It's pretty much a dick measuring contest that then ends with laughs and drinking. Great bonding moment.
Picking Knight-Enchanter, Vivienne was proud (she seems to think my Quizitor sees her as a mentor figure), Solas commented that he thought the ancient Elven Arcane Warriors would be proud that their abilities had outlasted their culture, Sera was dismissive and thought it was a little scary, and Josephine commented that since Knight-Enchanters are normally elite guards for the Emperor/Empress and Divine, it might make relations with Orlais and the Chantry easier. No comments from anyone outside the inner circle.
What? Solas never responded when I became a Knight Enchanter. I harass him all the time. Since my Lavellan romanced him.
I also got a response from Leliana about them being the Divine's guards.

Next story, how the Inquisitor suffers a slow lyrium related death.

You're completely right, and I should have phrased that better. They do that in their way.
But not by being a Mage, so a lot of people who who would have a problem with a person using Blood Magic are A-okay with another being a Reaver. 'Cause Thedas!hypocrisy. That's what I was trying to get at.
Solas discussed being a Rift Mage with me, but that's about it so far
By matter I mean: does it have any appreciable effect on the plot? If I become a Reaver will some characters instantly be disgusted with me? Or is there just the occasional bit of flavor dialogue?
I'm not sure of Reaver. But if you're a necromancer, almost every companion commented on it lol Cole hates it you're toying with spirits ![]()
Doubt it will affect plot but it might affect companion's affection or have interesting view from npc on you.
Cassandra's reaction to the Inquisitor becoming a Reaver was actually interesting. Essentially she reveals that it used to be pretty common for dragon hunters in the Pentaghast family to become Reavers to better fight dragons but the practiced was stopped as the people who did it became unstable as they kept wanting more and more power and ingesting more and more dragon blood. She does mention that that's only a risk if you can't control yourself and says that the Inquisitor will likely be strong enough to master uit.
