I guess i overleveled.. This game is having a koar effect and with 12 potions i am not even at risk of dying on hard.. i loot while i fight.

I don't like a huge challenge, but i like SOME challenge.. I tried nightmare and i just got rolled.. used like 8 potions in one fight to survive it.

Wish there was a "very hard"

I just hit lvl 9 and I've been doing hinterlands/storm coast quests.. I'm doing the soldier thing now and haven't done the quest after redcliffe yet. mobs are lvl 8

Nightmare is not so hard if you stick to the enemies/territories close to your level. Even high level enemies you can handle if they are not swarming you. I was having an easy time clearing 3/4 of the Hinterlands map but when I got to closing that second rift on the farm I was just WTF? Had to face a horde of high level demons at once all of a sudden and the result was as you imagine... :lol:

Just play it on Nightmare, you'll get used to it -- plus it'll put some hair on your chest.

Goes to show how bad I am at the game if I struggle on normal. Lol.

As the difficulty level has no game impact, just roll with what you enjoy best.
I got told off for suggesting that saying Nightmare is easy is just waving your e-peen.
Difficulty is so situational as well - with great choke points vs open terrain - any difficulty setting (and there are four so how many do you want?) cannot cater for every individual encounter. Some will be brutal, some will be popcorn fights.

And to be honest, they're supposed to be this way. Some fights in DA:I are not really meant to threaten you - but they can weaken your party and strain your resources. I found out that mainly boss battles and Rifts are really out there to kill you - Rifts (even your level) are just brutal on Nightmare.

Oh, and fun fact - at level 7 I encountered some stray level 3 enemies in Hinterlands - they were barely able to damage my mage - dealing like 2-4 damage per hit.

It seems that armor is just plain damage reduction - so 100 armor means you're reducing 100 of every incoming physical damage, so more than lower level enemies are even able to deal.

You class choice makes the game harder or easier aswell. If like me you play as a tank you can't damage the demons coming out of the rift by using your Mark while anby other character not supposed to have aggro can do so. I play on NM and I find the difficulty to be just perfect. The game sanctions your mistakes and you've got to use tac cam quite often. I do believe though that it will be easier once I unlock other ranged companions to replace Cassandra. She just gets beaten every time by AoE targeting the tank...

You still in the Hinterlands? Yea, I was there too until level 11.

I did get killed on nightmare and had to drop down to hard but it was early on when I didn't know how to use tact cam. Now every fight is tact cam, I might go back to nightmare since I disable most skills on mages. I let the other classes do what they want though if I need to bring them somewhere for personal quest etc. My only problem about going back to NM is that I am playing 4 mages standing the bubble a.k.a barrier and things die extremely quick on Hard but we can't take a hit. So NM might just be two hit kill for any of my squishes...

@2NDPerspective

Yeah I'm still there, just jumped from time ot time to Val Royeaux & the Storm Coast just to grab some companions but that's it.

The game is quite easier now, I have 2 mages (Inferno and the other Lightning+Ice) both with barriers. Varric as my rogue and I do the tanking.

Only issues are those bloody Lesser Terrors. One is okay, but three of those little pricks? I just can't bear so much stun/knockdown.
