Seriously, I've seen so many people neglect their grenades since they were basicaly useless in previous DA games. In Inquisition, they're pretty freaking good. Like having spells for everyone that dont require mana.
They've gotten me out of tight spots and helped think our large groups of enemies for my damage dealers.
So uh....yeah...use your damn grenades!
Use your bloody grenades!

Bees really are quite fun. I'm looking forward to seeing more grenades. The fact these do 4000 damage is pretty nice when you just keep pelting them though. 100k HP? Here's 4% of it gone in one spell - niiice.

The first thing is you need to unlock the perk for extra slot, because going on hard or NM with only basic HP pots is a big no-no, you need the regen pots (bleeds / poison / burning etc start to show up frequently), then spread grenades of various types on your party for maximum variety ![]()

Nightmare is the only way to play, For that regen potions are quite necessary, yes. Doesn't stop the bee grenade from being fun when it allows.

The bees do a good job at stripping guard and for an added bonus it causes panic. I had a big battle near the last camp in the hinterlands. I was trying to get to the camp to set it up and got ambushed by three grey elite bears, a regular brown bear, a little while later a couple of rogue smugglers show up because I'm not otherwise occupied with the bears. Then a few more two hand soldiers show up, I'm hanging in there getting killed but getting revived and then when I think it can't get any worse 4 mabari decide to come and check what's going on. The battle was epic and there's no way I'd have even a slight chance without the bees. My rogue was last man standing and I was able to set up camp. That was definitely a "Wow" moment. That last camp in the hinterlands Is the toughest one to get because enemies in that area respawn constantly. I tested out the bees on the druffalo in Haven and was quite impressed on how fast the bees stripped the guard. Instead of taking minutes to kill those things it turned into seconds.

This. I've got my own crazy Hinterlands battle story in which a bear decided to join in with some enemies and my team was saved by the bees. The best move I made in this game was selecting the extra potion/grenade slot as my first perk, because those grenades are incredibly useful. I mean, the Jar of Bees is literally a "break glass in case of emergency" item.
I feel like there's been a lot of carping from people about things that the game provides solutions for.
There's no healing! Well, there's barrier and guard to keep you alive, you can disengage from battle, use regeneration potions, go to a nearby camp, fast travel, use mounts, or travel to anywhere on the world map when you're not in combat.
Combat is too hard! Well, among other things, grenades are cheap are really eff up your enemies.

If you're playing with Friendly Fire on, which is also the only way to play, it's tough to use grenades effectively much of the time. The enemies tend not to kindly hang out in clumps away from your guys.

That's probably only the case if you have the bear claws quest. I didn't have it when I opened it up and there was nothing there.

This grenade works with friendly fire on which is odd because it represents AOE when throwing it but only attacks one enemy. If it does damage more than one character I've not seen any appreciable damage on my party or other enemies except the one I targeted.

Every time Pull of the Abyss is up? ![]()
Although I do play with FF on, is "the only way to play" some sort of search for realism in a fantasy game?

As a matter of fact I did have that quest on. I've found this area to be the toughest in the hinterlands with the exception of one other that shall remain nameless because I have no idea how to tackle that mess.

The problem with burning through potions is that you have to farm herbs. I stopped playing in NM mode because of that reason alone. Spending too much farming elfroot.

Antivan Fire grenade doesn't affect party members.

If you invest in the perk that gives you a 10% chance to gain more herbs that can help getting your stocks up pretty significantly. I've had some x9 when farming herbs granted it doesn't happen all the time but I'm sitting at over 200 elfroot right now. I tend to farm my elfroot in the Ostagar ruins and in that area east of where the soldiers are training in Haven. I was tired of farming as well so decided to invest in that perk which to me was worth it.

They don't, and no, it doesn't make any sense.
