I was pleasantly surprised the first time I walked into a tavern and heard the female bard. I hung around for a while just to hear her sing. This is definitely something Bioware got right. Huge props to the composer and to the singer (such a lovely voice). I  happen to like these songs so much better than anything I heard in Skyrim and I was disappointed to find that these songs were not on the soundtrack.

Here are a few of my favs...I hope Bioware does not take them down.

Once We Were -This song is just so beautiful, I love it.

Enchanter - The first song I heard in a tavern, It fits the world of Thedas very well.

Does anyone know who the singer is? She's excellent.

Maryden Halewell, that's all I know about her. She reminds me a little of Emiliana Torrini, but without the accent.

The bard songs are great and really add to the atmosphere. One of the cool things I thought is that in Val Royeux the same songs are sung in French instead of English.

Enchanters is probably my favorite of the bunch.

It's surprisingly good. I enjoy the sera song. Anybody know if there are more songs dedicated to companions?

I'm listening to Rise right now. Maaaaan.

Finally a game where the bard is actually nice to listen to!

I love Skyrim, but even I got sick of that bard, if I ha to hear 'age of opression' one more time

I love Skyrim too, and honestly the songs the bard sings in that game aren't bad. Just very repetitive. The best thing about the bard in DAI (other than her voice) is  not just the quantity but the quality and uniqueness of each song. So yeah, pretty much everything about her rocks or should I say "folks" lol. Sorry for the bad joke, I had to work today and needed to release some tension with some corny humor.

Yeah I thought the bards in Skyrim were good quality wise. It was just that there wasn't very much material at all, so you quickly kept hearing the same songs repeatedly.

Something I noticed, on my game when I was in Val Royeaux I heard the song "Enchanter" being sung in French. It actually sounded better imo. Anyways I found the attention to detail impressive.

I thought the French (Orlesian) version of Empress of Fire sounded a lot better as well.

Agreed it is good.

But one thing, I do wish there was more music and singing in general i.e more locations. Creates such a nice atmosphere, it always makes me stop.

I agree I liked the bard songs actually much better than the sound track. My fiance isn't very big into Sera but even she found her bard song very catchy. I need to collect them all.
