Huhu!

I havent even bought this game yet because of the control bugs and problems and stuff. I am waiting for at least 1 good patch then I will probably buy it :)

So when can we expect the first patch? Next week I suppose?

God bless you all

I really hope that they get a patch out next week for some of the simpler issues but we don't have any information on a release date yet. Smart to hold onto your money until you see some patch notes. c:

If they're smart, they won't tell us when it will be until they have it ready to go. Gamers are notorious for getting pissy if they miss a deadline, even if it's just an estimate. With all the issues, though, I'm a little disappointed we haven't had a patch yet.

As a PS4 player I have had no issues.

Though I hope the patch comes soon. Kind of tired of all the negativity.

Yeah well apparently the main problems are the controls of the PC version. Of course with a PS4 you shouldn't have these probs :)

The tactical view has to be smooth I understand that. They have to improve it or perfect it then I'm in ^^

I expect we will receive the first patch within the next couple of weeks.

The much-request PC patch could hit earlier, though.

If I may barge in. Whatever they are going to do, they must fix broken arms of elves.

Anyone that has played the PC version of DAO and DA2, that was part of the play-testing, had to know the PC version of DAI is flawed.  The fixes for the patch should have been ready at release.  I cannot believe they are acting shocked, that only the customers have noticed the problems.

No doubt they "believe in" the choices they made which is why I worry the patch will be cursory and not comprehensive, because they still want us to play it their way.

The game went gold October 31.  If they were serious about fixing the PC issues there would have been some kind of day one patch.  My guess is there will be a patch designed to fix any low hanging technical stuff released in early December.

Since they didn't do anything but port it to the PC in the first place, they may never fix stuff like no attack, click to move, tac cam being dogshit, UI not being optimized for KB+Mouse, etc.

If its going to take weeks to patch, then the game should not have been released.

No doubt they "believe in" the choices they made which is why I worry the patch will be cursory and not comprehensive, because they still want us to play it their way.

More like the way it is worth given the context. Seriously, people, why don't you ponder the issue objectively for even a split second? Do you think is it REALLY possible to have a full point and click control scheme give the complexity of an open world as the one generated by Frostbite? Do you even ponder for a single moment how difficult (if not impossible) a task as that could be (and even if you can make it work it will never be perfect) to do? Do you think it would be feasible to invest a lot of time on something you don't either know you can make it work properly?

The choice Bioware made is a good one: give the option to have combat played on a point and click scheme in tactical mode. This is a very good choice given the context. There are some issues now, but pretending something that CANNOT be done doesn't do good to anybody.

The world, characters etc. have always been the focus point of Bioware for their games. As such for them it made perfect sense to privilege those points and build other things around them (and not the contrary). If they focused on having a point and click interface then you would never have had a living world as the one of DA:I.

Without the issues there are now the input scheme would work well given the context. However stop pretending a full point and click scheme because that's an idiocy (it is so easy to judge things without taking the context in consideration, isn't it?).

I hope they add an option to remove the quest tracker completely, I don't need a reminder every time I unpause. Stop treating me like I'm stupid. It's like if during Breaking Bad they played "Previously on Breaking Bad..." after every commercial. Wouldn't you feel insulted? "You paused the game? You must've forgot what happened!"

I also hope they remove "LOOT" written above everything. What is the search button for if everything is labelled?

At least add options to remove these. All I want is a continuation of the Dragon Age story with nicer visuals. Adding all this stuff for people that obviously don't enjoy RPGs is strange to me.

The PC patch will be quicker because there's no administrative hurdles to overcome like on the Playstation and Xbox.

However, the PC patch will be slower because only the office cat and the tea lady are working on it.

So it's the same people who did PC port. They already know the stuff, so I would expect the patch soon.

... Unless the cleaner disconnected power cable from the "PC VERSION WORKSPACE" computer, because she couldn't find a place to plug in the hoover. Happened to SWTOR a few times.

I would not expect the patch too soon (or at last not a full patch on controls immediately),

For example if they want to eliminate the "swing at mid air" then it is quite possible they will have to create new animations to cover the gap quickly on certain classes, as rogue. Elsewhere every time you attack you will have to see your rogue running behind the target (and if it is a warrior probably never reaching it) while you do nothing.

In short they will have to come up with solutions and then ways to implement those solutions with correct implementation. This takes some work. If I would be the one working on it I would first focus on the tactical camera since that's probably the easiest one to adjust and if working well it would already be a great step forward.

You people just hope that the patch doesn't break more things than it fixes, because that's the trend right now with most games.

I would like to get it as soon as possible. I still have not started to play because of the male elf broken arms (also known as vejita's syndrome) bug.

Game crashes every ten minutes or so on xbox 360 (disc unreadable error- which can't be fixed by clearing cache or other fixes)- can't play at all- Panda did good job of setting up a thread on this- no response from Bioware at all. This isn't an issue- this is a game that simply will not work at all. Many of us can't play at all until it's patched.
