Hey there, Bioware.

Is there the possibility, that you will bring out an Savegame-Editor regarding the choices in ME1?

After I've seen some material in different Live-Streams and such, I'd like to change some things, but staying at the other decisions.

For example:
-Change of sex.
-Negation of Romances in ME1

It's just so many things I want to try out without making a billion Playthroughs with just one decision to change.

I wondered about this too. The amount of choices is mind boggling and to think a 20-30 hour play-through might be required for each ME2 play-through... A save game editor would make things so much simpler and more enjoyable (ME1 is great, but not that great).

I doubt Bioware will release a save game editor, they would have built it into the importing process otherwise. I've got my fingers crossed for a 3rd party program, though. 2 years and so save editor but maybe ME2 will speed things up.

Why would they put out such a thing? I'm sure someone on the PC side will come up with something like this, but I've NEVER seen a developer put out a save game editor (tools for level / world building, sure, but not something to muck around with a legit savegame).

it'd be nice to have from the modding community though

It's just, that I played ME1 so often, that I can't enjoy it anymore.

I played arround 15 Sentinels(with 2 Harddrive-crashes no wonder).

I played a fem-shep, which was a pain in the a** since the german voice of fem-shep is less emotional as legions.

I played two soldiers.

And Always I liked the choices I made.

I kept them. But now...so many new LI's, so many possibilities.

Making the same game with, each time, one decision changed is not amusement anymore, but anoying.

Therefore a possibility for at least ME1-LI-removement would be great.

There is a very friendly person who maintains a savegame swap site:

A few dozen different Shepards are already up :-)

A game with just about any choice set you wanted is available, so short of a full save editor I'd take a name editor...

Thank you for this. My harddrive went kaboom so I only had time for 2 renegade playthroughs.

Found 2 paragon saves I wanted.

It's called a Hex Editor.

I will check the site out when I get home. There were a number of saves I lost that would take alot of time to "rebuild."

Most of us can't hex edit, or at least do so comfortably without worrying about ending the world. D:

Indeed, a savegame editor would be grand. I'm loving every second of ME2, I just wish I hadn't romanced Liara or Ashley in ME1. Miranda, Tali and even Jack are way more interesting. However, I don't want the complications this implies for ME3, so it looks like I will be playing through ME1 *again* to get a clean save.

Dragon Age. All savegames are editable in the toolset.

Hey ThunderBlaze, have you used a Hex editor to take a look at a Mass Effect save? Try it.

www.masseffectsaves.com. You can get finished save games, and there is a link to the ME2 savegame editor. It's pretty basic and raw, but you can change things like your name, input a new facecode if you have one, change your background/reputation from ME1.

I'm very interested in this too, as I have played ME1 three times and I was always extremely thorough with my savegames, so I would often reload multiple times after talking to someone/making a decision just to see the alternative dialogue or outcome. Over 3 playthroughs I have pretty much experienced every possible decision. I'm playing on Xbox though, and the idea of having to go through yet again is just too much to stomach as I have a whole pile of other 360 games I've barely even touched!

A good idea in ME2 would have been to include a greyed out "Edit Imported Decisions" option in the new game menu that only activates once you have completed one playthrough of your imported ME1 character. You would then be able to set your decisions for the next playthrough. It wouldn't edit the ME1 save file, just the decision flags for the ME2 game you're about to embark on. Effectively, playing ME1 without actually playing it.

You can now use the editor to change ME1 decisions.

To bad the Sirta foundation decision is not yet present.
