Hey folks!

So i reached the point where the new divine election seems to be underway and i would like to put Vivienne on that position.

From what i have gathered, it seems who gets chosen depends on some choices that arent apparently clear.

Does anyone knows exactly what you have to do for our orlesian mage to get elected at the end?

So far both Leliana & Cassandra had cutscenes about it, i tried to be as against the ideia for both of them (Let the sinking ship sink/Why care about the chantry). But Vivienne had none of that. Does that mean she gets elected by default? Since the other two wouldnt be interested?

Also, my approval rating with Cassandra is high (after some careful juggle of dialogue options throught the game), in the meantime Vivienne hates my guts.

I have so far helped the mages and picked otherwise the options that show me that i am against the chantry. I also helped Gaspard in his throne taking endevours.

I hope someone can help me

Your choices throughout the game matter, especially in conversations. I was against the chantry in most conversations, supported Cassandra and ended up having Leliana as the Divine.

I figure, if you are supportive of the status quo, you would get Vivienne and if you express the want for change, Cass.

This seems to be something of a mystery, at least as of now it seems.

Another user posted that he didint supported either 2 of them and got Vivienne at the end.

How did you approached Leliana? Did you told her to let the chantry sink? please tell me more specifics, if you can.

I want Vivienne to become Divine manly for the fact that i think it would further cause the chantry to decline. A Mage Divine that support the status quo? nothing would make the Chantry seem more of a contradiction than that.

In short, i dont want them to be restored or reformed, i just wanna help them go down their spiral of decadence.

There's discussions about this in a lot of threads. Trying to figure out what causes what by comparing playthroughs. Problem seems to be that theres a LOT of crossover with decisions and nobody can really figure out which decisions carry more weight and how much small things (like private conversation with companions) effect the outcome.

Personally, I'm really trying to stick Cassandra in the position, especially after discussing her views on the Chantry and such. I think she's the best middle ground, and I really don't want to put Leliana in a position to lose even more of her life and autonomy to the Chantry.

I played a dwarf-atheist, who renounced being associated with the maker or andraste in any way. If the dialogue was about the chantry, my character mainly went with "The chantry is ****" or "The chantry has to change" or similar things. Was friends with Cassandra and Vivienne, not friends with Leliana.

Additionally, I supported the mages (free) and Celene, those appear to have an effect as well. So apparently, if you free everybody and are reformative, you get Leliana.

Again with the supporting of Celene, and again with Leliana as Divine. I'm really starting to wonder just how much these other decisions actually matter.

I supported the elf woman (name escapes me), Figured i would leave Orlay as weak as i can (and 2 antagonistic people ruling "together" is a sure way to keep them weak), its all better for the Inquisition.

But from what you guys are saying, it seems i will get Leliana as Divine, which is a pity, since i really dont like her character overall (since DA:O) and would rather not put her in a position of power.

Wish you would get somekind of War Room quest to overrule any of these decisions, coaxing Chantry clerics with Leliana's methods or Cullen's blunt approaches.

But oh well... at least she seems to be the one that will do most good for Thedas
