It dropped for me.

Also I just got the schematic drop on the Exalted Plains, in Var Bellanaris.  The dalish graveyard, outside in the container back towards the locked door in one of the alcoves on the right wall.

Does anyone know where I can get vanguard mail from? The thread creator said a merchant in redcliffe sells it. Yet, the only available armor is the non-schematic version and you can't change the color on it. How did he change the armor color, lol.

Vanguard schematics are bugged, it will only give you the mage or rogue models.  And you need the schematic to change the colors.  Battlemaster Mail is the only option close (a bit more armored) until that gets fixed.  And that will involve save scumming a treasure chest that drops t3 schematics.

Says that the armor merchant in redcliffe sells a Masterwork Battlemaster mail for 14k yet I don't see it. I've also heard that having a Josephine perk allows you to see the better stock? Anyone know if that's true or if there's another way of getting the mail?

Either you need to progress into the story a little bit (and level up) or you do need a Josie perk.

That's usually how stocks gets updated.

I just tested it with the Short List perk and it worked. Masterwork Battlemaster mail shows up at the armor merchant in Redcliffe. The only problem is, it's pink! This is so silly. I guess there's no merchant that sells the schematic.

Yeah you either have to farm a chest that drops tier 3 schematics or just wait for a patch to fix the vanguard model. Annoying, i know.

Dude! I just got the sturdy battlemaster mail schematic as well as battlemage mail schematic from loot boxes in Sulevin's keep! Every loot box has a chance to drop tier-3 schematics. I saw it in some video. I think also got battlemaster mail arms schematic and so now I'm just getting greedy in hopes to get mail legs schematic(which I already have a premade one of) and possibly a superior version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's called the Refined Greatsword (there is also a rare item called the Knight-Enchanter Greatsword that has the exact same design). I don't know where the schematic is, but the swords themselves are ****. Not saying that you couldn't craft something way better if you found the schematic.

Don't know about that armor but you can use the battlemage armor from the dog vendor, craft it with silverite,  Dales Loden Wool or Snoufleur Skin to remove class restriction!

To change the belt you need to craft the battlemage armor with dales Loden wool, the arms would be blue, but it doesnt matter because the battlemage arms replace that color to default! then use with any class you want!
here is a pic of my warrior wearing a battlemage armor!13zagpf.jpg

The wool makes the collar look like a brick red. Is there no cloth that can make it look red/crimson like in the PAX PRIME 2013 demo?

If you want red/crimson, you want fade-touched highever weave or highever weave if you're using the battlemage version.

The cloth using in that demo was orange, however it must have been a rare material as it had a pattern overlay.

What arms are those with the shoulders and where did you get them.

Arms = Sturdy Battlemaster Mail Arms (Schematic)

Legs = Superior Battlemaster Mail Legs (Can get from Hissing Wastes dog vendor)

Armor = Sturdy Battlemaster Mail (Schematic)

I got the arms as well as the armor as a random schematic chest loot from Cradle of Sulevin using the method on this thread: http://forum.bioware...0fps-available/

Since it was random, it really depends on luck. As far as I know, the mail arms, legs, and armor are not available for purchase in merchant shops.

I have the armor already. Pure dumb luck looted it from a chest in exalted plains at level 12. Ill buy the legs once I get to hissing wastes and try to get the arms from the temple if I dont find them before.

Not Fade-Touched Drakestone?

Not Fade-Touched Drakestone?

Drakestone is metal, it won't change the clothe parts of the set.

Also looking at the designs, it seems to me that each version of an armor (battlemaster coat, mail, and armor for example, or the prowler and battlemage) is supposed to have the same general look with slight differences.  Each battlemaster item should be plate armor, with the armor being the set with the scale metal and groin protection and the mail and coat switching out some of that extra armor for leather and cloth.  Like the picture above you see that the character has a leather jerkin under his armor rather than a shirt of scale armor like the arms.

You can see it on the rogue models we can get from the Hissing wastes, there are slight differences.  It looks like so there are visual differences to using something that gives you the option to add the cloth and leather slots for their stats rather than metal.

To get the rogue model as a warrior or mage, you'd have to use one of the materials that remove class limitations like silverite.

According to the game guide, the merchant in Redcliff does not have the schematics for any armor higher than Heavy adventure armor. He has for sale, masterwork battlemaster mail and scout armor and superior vanguard and hunter, plus others.

The exalted plains have schematics for the warden warrior armor and battlemage armor, and also the superior version, plus others.

The hissing waters has the schematics for the sturdy battlemaster armor and superior venatori helmet, plus others.

Those are the highest ones I see. I guess that means that the improvements you make on them have to be high quality to get them like the ones on the cover and/or trailer.

Also, check out this thread.    http://forum.bioware...from-the-cover/  It also includes pics

Not at all. If you want the armor worn by the Inquisitor in the breach trailer:

https://www.youtube....h?v=jJqxfkgSUog

You need need either the regular Battlemaster mail schematic or the Sturdy Battlemaster mail schematic as seen in the pictures I posted above. Nothing needs to be high quality so long as you have the schematic.

What my inquisitor is wearing is Sturdy Battlemaster mail which has the leather chest underneath as opposed to the Superior Battlemaster Mail which has chainmail as the chest as well as some extras at the bottom as seen in the heros of the thedas official trailer. The battlemage version looks exactly the same so I can only guess the rogue looks exactly the same as well. It's pretty evident that they start with a base armor and tack on extra crap which each version (Regular, Sturdy, Superior, Masterwork) Although, Superior and Masterwork look exactly the same. I'm assuming the masterwork version that is sold in Redcliffe is the superior version with a masterwork crafting item.

I actually just found the Superior Battlemaster Mail 10 minutes ago.  I'm in the middle of the Suvedin Blade quest so I can't go check what it looks like, but I'm positive that's part of a bug where models aren't being put on the right names.  There are issues there, as we see with none of the armor schematics matching up to what they look like when you find them (or having the rogue's model.)

When you find or buy the actual armors, they follow the template of mages having the coat, rogues having that half coat and armor look, and warrior stuff being armor.  The schematics are just bugged.

PS:  Just checked.  Superior Battlemaster Mail schematic is the exact same model as the sturdy BM Mail.  No chainmail.

Anyone reporting theses issues with the schematics to Bioware, since a patch is incoming for Dec 9?

So like many of you I've been searching for the Helm of the inquisitor and the armor from the trailers, I'll explain where I've found them!

To find the Helm of the Inquisitor you need to go to the Emerald Graves in Orlais, find the Greater Mistral Dragon it's a ice dragon and it has a level of 17.
One you killed the Dragon it'll drop the Helm of the Inquisitor along with the armor 'In War, Victory' for mages!

Now to get the armor from the trailers, you need to go to the Hissing Wastes to the dog vendor and get the battlemaster armor! The other one is the Vanguard Mail you can get it with the merchant in Redcliffe Castle. Also if you want the same breaches and arms of the trailer with the armor, craft the battlemaster breaches and arms then modify your armor with those!

To remove class restriction you need Silverite, Dales Loden Wool or Snoufleur Skin!!
With that you can match the colors from the trailers!

You can craft your armor to use with any class!
here is my warrior wearing the battlemage armor crafted with Dales Loden Wool and the battlemage arms and legs (note that the battlemage arms replace the blue color of the Dales Loden Wool to default!)

And the Vanguard Mail

Here is where to find the Dragon:

And a pic of the In War, Victory armor and Helm of the inquisitor:

Once I find the schematics for the Helm of the Inquisitor I'll update.

Got the Inquisition Helm schematic from Emerald Graves. You get a mission from a guy name Fairbanks, you end up going into a mansion. There you make a right turn, but before opening the door, the treasure chest on the left should have it. Then again most loot are random, so if you don't get it then sorry!
