Does it matter which crafting materials I use to make armor? For example, If I need a metal, does it matter if I choose Iron or Drakestone? Should I be saving the higher-tier materials for anything else?

Thanks!

I was wondering about that as well. As far as I experienced when crafting the actual armor, the Tier and rarity of the materials do not matter nearly as much as when you are crafting upgrades.

I actually crafted the advanced Templar armor with only Tier 3 materials and out came a 79 armor item with the usual 2% dmg reduction, not much better than the original. After that I crafted the second Necromancer armor with only cheap stuff and out came an epic 78 armor (but also the same 2% dmg reduction).

When crafting upgrades there is a significant buff from Tier 1 to Tier 3 items, and the utility of the upgrade itself strongly varies with the materials used in creating them.

I would save all the better materials for Upgrades and craft armor with the cheap stuff.

When making character armor there doesnt appear to be any significant buff (likely, as there is no way currently to recraft it with better materials).

But the components do have a noticeable effect on weapon upgrades and such.
