First of all, yes: Like many hardcore fans I do have the "get all companions" OCD. However, I had a really hard time enjoying DA2 after Origins and I just wanted to see and affect the story by myself, and not relying on the keep or youtube videos.
I only figured out I missed Fenris when I was finishing Legacy. Needless to say, DA2 didn't really scratch my DA itch. What are your thoughts on this? (Also, please don't kill me Fenris fangirls/fanboys :3)

Well, I would've picked him up if I weren't kinda going with the mindset of "Just get me to Inquisition already". And of course after Act 1 he's bloody gone. /facepalm
Not going to replay DA2 for one character 
I wish I had never picked him up. First bioware toon that I ever wanted to leave the party, but not bad enough that I would sit through any dialogue with him. Oh you want to stand in your empty mansion and be moody about magic, OK.
Then I killed him when everything went south at the end of the game. BEST part of the ending that was.

I just imported default DA2 state.
I decided to go with my original playthroughs of Origins and 2 for my world state and in my first go through DA2, I wasn't fond of Fenris and he died at the end. I've since grown o like him and even romanced him in a playthrough, so I regret that he's dead now.
DA2 Spoilers - - - - I killed him at the end of DA2 when my Hawke went fully with the mages, so he won't be in my DA:I game. Can't say I'll really miss him at all.
I never recruited him, so no, you're not the only one OP.
The OCD appreciates this empathy :3.
But yeah...I get what everyone's saying. At the end of the day I made the decisions that were most important to me and I experienced the game without lazying out. Playing Inquisition so far hasn't made me regret that decision yet.
