yes.. i think.. i believe the only time you lose approval with your comrades when they arent with you, is when you do a war table mission that is about them, and you choose the wrong person.

So it doesn't matter whether bring them or not. Ok thanks.

No, it will not save you, when I made a decision during one of the plot quests ALL of my companions weighed in on my decision. Frankly, I like this because whether or not they are in the party should not influence how they react to my decisions. If I hear that a buddy of mine treated his gf poorly it would not matter if I was there or not, I would have an opinion on it. Same should go for Inquisition, but that's just my take on it ![]()

Like everyone said, they still hear about and approve or disapprove of your actions. Also you don't have to take some of the companions with you when doing their incidental quests it seems. Like Blackwall's first one where you have to find certain things, if he's not with you your PC just says Blackwall would of liked to be here, then you go talk to him and he says I wish I had been with you, but you still get the approval bump.

Random stupid question pertaining to the thread somewhat loosely:
Where the hell do I see my companions' approval ratings? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

You can't. There's no meter to see. It only comes through with how your companions act towards you.

Interesting. I kinda like that. Though, it makes assessing the situation more difficult.
Maybe that's why Solas never talks to me. ******.

I'm having the same thing with Bull. Dude's kinda neutral to me, now.
And, yeah, I agree that it's nice to not have a meter anymore. Makes it feel like you're interacting with characters and trying to earn their respect, as opposed to earning friendship points.

Their tarot cards in the party gathering screen changes depending on their approval rating.

There's different art for each character, if they like you or dislike you, the art changes on the card to show that. Like Dorian seems to love me now and his card is very bright and white, where as before it was dark and shadowy. He's also wearing a bright white robe now in the card

In that case, I should check out Vivienne's card. It's probably super dark and angry right now. Haha.
