Been playing the game on PS3 for about.... 25hrs??...... all went mostly fine.

Ran into lots of small bugs...... but nothing that could not be fixed by restarting the game.

Sometimes I would get game freeze for about half a second..... one second somtimes.

But when I got to the Forbidden Oasis..... all was fine at first........ untill I went into the underground tunnels.

Then there was exxxxxxtreme laggggggg.

The frame rate dropped to about 1 frame a minute.

Figured that maybe the PS3 RAM was full.

So I restarted the PS3...... same problem.

But I could access the map... so I warped back to camp.

But still the frame rate was attrocious making that map unplayable..

Anyone else having this problem??

Yes! And it's frustrating and saddening. I have even gone back to an earlier save and still with the extreme lag! I have begun calling it the "Fallout syndrome". I only get partially into the map and then it starts acting up. This is the only map I have had this kind of trouble with too. Maybe it is truly forbidden...I MUST explore this map, Bioware! (I'm playing on PS3 as well)

Exact same issue here.  Also started when I hit the underground tunnels (shortly after passing the breakable wall and fighting a stray spider), map is now unplayably laggy.  Menus accessible using start button function at normal speed, as do 'change party' and 'requisition' interfaces.  Main gameplay is the same as you describe - 1-2 fps, tops.  Seems fine everywhere else.  Not sure what triggered this but it's real disappointing not to be able to explore Solasan proper.

I have to back this up... A crash now and again (and sudden other random things, like not being able to switch character until game reboot) I can accept, but the Forbidden Oasis map is just unplayable because of the lagging. Perhaps the area was not picked appart enough to match the PS3 like the rest seem to be...

I say help. I say hurry. I say I spent lotsa money on this in hope of minor bugs, not game breaking lag...

Use the map function once your weapons are sheethed then port to another map, like haven or something then when you come back it should fix

I have The same problem on PS3, although it didn't hit me until I got to...the something something pool? I think it was.

This is the only game-breaking bug I've got so far in 40ish hours of play...

Same... I'd been having a few issues in other areas but everything came to a head when I got here. The first fade rift in the desert wouldn't trigger, then when I got to Elizabeth's Garden the lag you mentioned hit hard, textures wouldn't load and finally everything would freeze, usually after porting to or resting at camp. I was able to make it through 'the door' and explore around a bit, but overall that entire area was a struggle to get through with constant hard resets after the game would freeze even while standing still and allowing the save icon to finish flashing on the screen.

After the oasis the rest of the game would lag or freeze completely. I tried a new save, porting in and out and nothing resolved it.

Many, many issues in the oasis for me as well. So many that I can't quest there. I hope this is on the list of fixes coming soon, cause it sucks.

I am also on the PS3.

It just happened to me in underground tunnels.  Rage quit afer saving.    Started game up today and it is still super laggy making it unplayable.

Unlike most of you, I know what is causing this.    When you are on the edge of the map in Forbidden oasis, the game becomes super laggy to prevent you from going further I think but if you do it just brings the map up like if you would leave at a exit.

Thing is.  We are all experience this very same lag elsewhere on the map where we should have no issues.

This needs to be fixed ASAP.   The map is broken.

EDIT:

Underground tunnel I speak of is "Spiral Mine."

I have this same issue. I'm roughly 60 hours in and finally went to check out the Forbidden Oasis. I felt like it might be important, but I guess I'll never know since I can't actually move. After it started lagging in the tunnels I had a very long and slow journey to get out just to be able to fast travel to escape it. It was utterly horrible. If this place is important I really hope they actually fix it.

as someone else said, just port back with map . it'll get fixed.

as for me, it started doing that in the heart of oasis , at first I thought it's a hang but then realized i can bring up the menu.

I think this only happens when the area starts going into evening phase. the lightning changes and it gets heavy on the system.

or it could be some kind of graphical leak.

at any rate. It never happend to me again since I tried not to play more than 1 hours straight in oasis. I would either rest in camp or go back to haven to empty inventory.

I've never restarted the PS3. not even the first time it started slowing down. just had to go back to haven more often.

also this DIDN'T happen to me in the tunnels. not even once. the map needs to be fixed but its not completely broken, it can still be completed fairly easily.

It's February and still no patch for this. I've had it in and out of the caves. First one hit before I even explored a cave. BioWare, we paid money for this game, the least you can do is properly beta it. If not, don't release it. This is buggier than Skyrim. And I say this as someone who cut her PC geek teeth on Baldur's Gate 1, well, outside of grade school and Oregon Trail. . . .

I've had this happen to me as well previously although not on that map, it's happened on the map for investigating the shards and emerald graves, but between abandoning those areas for a while and deleting/remaking characters it fixed itself. I would suggest what other people have, change maps save/reload go to another map then back or something similar.

P.S I am also on PS3
