Does the game do this like the previous games, or is it one character/world state, and any new characters overwrites the save folder?

I backed up my save folder just incase.

My brother logged into his origin account on my computer, created/imported a worldstate, and exported it into DAI and created a character. Would this mess up my worldstate and saves? He has also bought a copy and have it on his origin account as well, but can't play it due to blackscreen on his computer.

Save files are tied to the character, same as previous games. Each save file has a single world state that it's imported from the Keep and can only be edited before importing within the Keep itself. The only time Inquisition and the Keep talk to each other is when you press the "do you want to import from Dragon Age Keep" button when you start a new game. He could even delete your world state in the Keep, and you'll be fine unless you want to start a new playthrough with that world state.
