Ps4. We can not hear the voices unless we turn the tv up to 40 or more. We must turn down fx and master in controls to 40. Voice is set at 100. We do have the setting on "tv".

Please fix.

I agree with that, I had to do the same thing, considering just playing with headphones on, but my P11's are too quiet on PS4 as well

The sound is pretty quiet in general on PC, too. Don't know if it's because it was developed with 5.1 or smth in mind and doesn't handle well simple stereo setups, but it's a bit frustrating.

Sound is "quiet" because of the huge dynamic range. Same goes for voices. You can set it to low in the settings. It was the same for ME3 and I for one appreciate that Bioware doesn't go for loudness over clarity and detail.

The voices are too low when I play then on just my Tv, but Ican hear perfectly when I wear my surround sound headphones. Not sure why the discrepancy.

Set the output to TV speakers or whatever in settings and dynamic range to low.

Unfortunately there's no such option in the PC version. There's "dynamic range mode" setting which cycles between things like "TV", "home theater", "headphones" and "night", but even the "headphones" option is pretty quiet overall and others even more so.

I have a headset on and my character is loud and clear whereas the other characters whisper.

I got things mixed up then. Sorry.

I agree too. My workaround has been using the Headphones mode... with a stereo pair of speakers lol.

I've found no solution except turning up the manual volume control. Kind annoying because then ofc I have to turn it back down again so everything else on my computer isn't deafeningly loud.

Using the night setting helped an imperceptable amount. The issue still exist. Is there no patch to come?

Same issue. Other sounds are fine, but I had to turn down everything but dialog and them crank up my speakers. Still inconsistent. Makes it unpleasant if I forget to turn the speakers down when I'm done playing.

I have this issue too, with voices turned to 100 and other sound options turned much lower with the headphones setting. I find myself moving the camera around so I can hear them optimally, usually placing it behind them so I can't see their faces while they speak.

Are you sure? I definetly have that feature I think. Though I run an HDMI cable to my TV so maybe that matters?

On my headphones the Inquisitor just comes out of the center speaker, so seems a lot quieter when in conversation cutscenes.

I can confirm this problem on PC and PS4. Even in "home theatre" mode there is no true 5.1, as no sound ever comes out of my center channels. This means the vocals were mixed into the front channels and poorly done. I have moderate to nice audio systems and you can tell a dramatic difference between this game and games that have been properly mixed, even within the Frostbite 3 engine (the last 2 battlefield games come to mind).

Either the vocal tracks need a boost, or the time needs to be spent to properly mix them into the stero and 5.1 tracks.

I've got 5.1 set up for my PC and voices are still very low and it's been like that with ME3 for me as well.

What is curious is that it only apply to BioWare games, all the other are fine.

I have an HDMI cable running. It does not help.

It seems that Bioware doesn't mix to 5.1, but an expanded stereo or perhaps 4.1. I only hear vocals from my fronts, never the center channel (ME and DA both). This would contribute to the tracks muddiness.

If you have stereo speakers, make sure dynamic range is set to headphones (restart required). Otherwise you may get a 5.1 surround output, and if you have a stereo setup, voices would come out of a non-existent central speakers with only the echoes coming out of the left and right speakers.
