Problems with the choice of colors/brightness in the game!

Is it just me or is the game way too bright PLUS having a very bad choice of color palette? Even at gamma on 30% where the dark parts become so dark that i can't see anything, the bright parts are still so bright that my eyes start hurting. The whole feel of the zone (Hinterlands) just goes to s**t because the zone is so bright that half the things are just an unrecognizable blotch.

The problem is definitely not my screen, because the colors on all my other games are fine (and so is the brightness).

So anyone else noticed that the game is just not right when it comes to the choice of color palette and the amount of brightness?

I noticed some of that; some really dark areas and the color is a bit flat. I was going to mess with the Nvidia control panel settings; digital vibrance, along with my monitor settings.

It's becoming very annoying, because no amount of tinkering with the NVidia settings or my monitor can fix it. I can make it darker, i can make it brighter, i can change the colors, but the problem is that the game's use of lighting is not proper imo. If i make it bright enough to see in the dark areas then the bright areas are too bright and vice versa. Also as a whole everything just looks like we are on a planet whose sun is too damn near. The grass is so bright you can't see most of it and everything else is just.... too bright.

The dark areas are supposed to be really dark until you light a torch

Makes sense about the torch. I haven't found/used that yet.

The characters also have kind of an ‘invisible torch’, a circle of lighter vision whenever you’re in a dark place. It’s about the same radius as the torch will be. I’m actually quite happy that there’s a game that actually uses somewhat realistic darkness for some of the gameplay.

I’ve personally not had an issue with the brightness or gamma, either, but that depends so much on your card and monitor—and personal preference… The vid card control panel is probably not a bad place to try to adjust thing.s

I'm glad someone else can see this.  It's so bright in the hinterlands that the grass is almost washed out in the sunlight.  Dropping the gamma (or changing any other setting) to almost nothing doesn't fix the washed-out contrast problem, despite the darkening,it's still "blown-out."
It can't be my monitor or something like that, because this is the only game where it happens.  "Shady" or overcast areas look fine, or should I say, like natural light.  The fact that it _only_ happens on this one game makes me think it's just not my settings, but rather the game.  But then, not everyone notices it, and it's so bad in the hinterlands that I can't understand how no one could not notice it.  So I'm torn.  How can it be my personal settings, but, only on this game?  It makes no sense.
