I´d like to add a few things to the technical side of multiplayer, in the hopes of someone taking notice of the issues at hand, and I can tell by people playing online that they experience the same issues as me.

1) Rubberbanding/High latency:

Edited in: Seems this problem was caused by me. I had crashes in Singleplayer, so I started the game with "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60", so the cutscenes would not crash. I found this bit of advice in another thread, in regards to problems with multiplayer. Further testing is needed, but a test game after removing this parameters from the startup went just fine. Very strange indeed.

Edit end.

At the start of the match there is sometimes a high delay from placing your character to finally being able to control it properly. YOu are allowed to shoot/attack, use your skills ( which do not drain energy/resources ) but you simply cannot move for about 30 seconds. As a matter of fact you HAVE to do some sort of "warming up" swings with your weapon until you are finally allowed to move. ( I didnt participate in this one game as a test. After ten-twenty attacks my fellow püalyers were able to head out, while I was still stuck. Then I took my attacks and then I was able to move. Kidding you not. Sport is healthy for you, kiddos! )

WHEN you finally are able to move around, it is kind of "chunky". YOu move forward, backward a bit. We have seen this kind of movement quality in ME3 multiplayer with high latency games. I dont know wether its a real lag issue ( choosing far away hosts ) or if it is a technical kind of bug. I suspect the latter, because this kind of movement impairment is present in round about 80% of the games for me.

HOWEVER, if you jump around ( which seems to be already the preferred type of movement because its faster than running... PLease, look into this, this is rubbish. ) movement seems suddenly to be fluid and free from rubberbanding. It makes NO sense at all. If this was a lag issue, jumping should be affected evenly.

2) Not being able to damage enemies or invisible enemies outright.

Nothing more to add - just maybe elaborate a bit. I was chasing around one of those golden rabbits that spawned in my fifth game: I could shoot it all I wanted, it showed me lots of damage numbers, but the healthbar just wouldnt go down. Even though of the rubberbanding issue, I could keep up by permanently jumping, still 30+ hits would not impact it.

Sometimes I would be able to see my companions fight thin air, just me not being able to see what they were actually fighting against. It´s invisible Banshee time again! Woohooo!

3) Not being able to ressurect people in "rubberbanding" matches.

Seems to tie into the network/latency issue here. I was able to pump the revive circle up to full, but it just wouldnt revive my teammates.

4) Random porting away from the group into the next area

No idea how this happened. In two of my matches, i would be just ported to the next area, away from my group, without a reason whatsoever, not being able to leave the first room of this area without any enemy in it. What the hell...?

Also there are a few issues with connecting to the game and random disconnects, but then again what game is free of that? Overall, Multiplayer feels very unfinished from the technical side. Gameplay seems to be fine, from what I can judge from the one game I was able to play.

Not going to bother with it too much for now in its current state.

@Purpguy1

Diablo 3 is a one time payment, Path of Exile is entirely free. TERA has an optional subscription.

Also your last comment, firstly it's just plain insensitive. Secondly, I'm not complaining about those who can play alot. I'm complaining about an unfair business model.

@stysiaq

1. That's an opinion, stop stating it as fact. Just because you don't enjoy co-operative experiences as also being competetive, doesn't mean that nobody does. As I've said, tell that to top guilds in WoW, racers in Path of Exile.

2. Look at Path of Exile if you want proof of peoples disposable income. Players literally throw money at that game and get very little in return. Why? Because they can, but at least it doesn't give them an unfair advantage in the game. Imagine if it did? The game would be ruined.

3. You contridicted yourself so badly. If there so cancerous, why don't they bother you? You said yourself, they suck. Yet your okay just settling for them.

4. In that case it shouldn't be monitized so heavily, if it's tacked on content and they admit that it's tacked on, bordering on unfit for purpose then it's not fit to be sold.

5. This has nothing to do with Envy, I don't intend to play much more of it. I don't care what items people have, because the gameplay at the core is pretty horrid to begin with. My issue is with selling items on a bigger scale than this multiplayer mode.

6. It's not competetive because nobody plays it, there aren't any leaderboards. There are no tournaments.

7. You can't just ignore this, it's a big deal. You said it yourself, cancerous. Yet your okay just settling for it. Don't settle for medicority. If people put up a fuss, EA couldn't pull this crap in the first place.

8. If your okay with being carried, that's great. Personally I find it dreadfully boring.

9. The level process is the least offensive part of the game and before long, everyone will be level 20. It'll come down to gear, that's why I believe speeding up the levelling process which will be considered nothing more of a chore is less offensive than openly selling end game items.

10. Compare DotA2 to League of Legends business wise. Compare TF2. For the most part, Valve games are cosmetic only.

11. Clearly you see that it's a problem, yet you just settle for it. Accept it. Roll over and get kicked by EA. If people straight up said this isn't good enough, it WOULD be changed. Proof of this exists all over the place, a business model only lasts while people will put up with it.

12/13. It feels like early access. You know what? Blizzard got called out on their terrible business practice of selling items didn't they? People said this isn't good enough. What is Diablo 3 I ask? Oh that's right! A co-operative dungeon crawler. What did it have recently, a race! Competition!

It feels like an early access mode that we're paying to develop, after we already paid for DAI to begin with.

You seem to agree that it's bad, yet your okay just settling because complaining about it is too much work. You know where we'd be if nobody had ever complained about anything they thought was unfair in the world because "we can live with it, it doesn't suck too much."

@Samerandom

Yes, I've experienced most of these problems as well. Was forced to jump the entire map as it was the only way to move at a decent speed. It's just ridiculous honestly.

He still can't understand that bioware/ea is not a nonprofit organization and the business model he's complaining about is the only reason DAMP and this forum exist.

Planetside 2 is a good recent example.  Free to play, with optional purchases.  It's a good business model really, because it allows everyone to give your game a try without having to buy it first.  And if they like it, they can contribute, but if they can't afford to, they can still play, and the entire game world is better for it because there are more players.  I really don't see a problem here.  It is the way forward.
