Is there a comprehensive list anywhere of the companion tarot card changes and why they happen?

Varric's card changed to something distinctly creepy after Adamant and I'd like to know why. I'm on good terms with him and definitely did NOT let him keep the shard in DAII

I did not! That's another part of why I was confused.

I saved Hawke (lol bye Stroud). It just changed after that quest with no real reason. Though he gave me a personal quest right after so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

It changes because of Bianca. It'll change again after "Well, ****." Much more cheery

Do his personal quest and it will change

Oh, thanks. I can't seem to trigger his quest, though. I've been taking him to do nice things for people and have been seeing "Cole approves" but he won't talk to me except for his prophetic ramblings.

You have to do one of the critical path quests (the Grey Warden one) after getting Skyhold to unlock it, I believe.

I've almost finished that one, so it's good to know. Now I shall have to drag Blackwall around to get the last 2 warden artifacts and finally talk to Cole again.

Well, I guess I have a question. Do both Sera and Cassandra's Tarot cards change after you complete their personal quests, or do you you have to romance for them to change?

Sera's does not change until very late in the game, once you get another scene with her. I believe Cassandra's changed after I did her quest? Maybe not until after I talked to her, right after doing her quest? She has both a personal quest and a fetch quest. (not all characters have fetch quests)

The Tower (which is ungodly terrifying if you know anything about Tarot motifs) if unromanced.

I have no idea when or why it changes, though... could be approval, could be a companion quest. If romanced, he becomes The Hierophant.

 I'd actually be interested in learning what all of the tarot cards relate to in regards to each character. It sounds fascinating.

I'd love like a chart or visual representation of what all the cards can change into for each character... you know, someone way less lazy than me would be perfect for that.

As far as Solas goes,

The Hermit is... exactly what it sounds like. It represents solitude, introspection, reflection. Solas's initial card is all about ~enlightenment~ and broadening the mind.

His romanced card, The Hierophant, represents knowledge, maturity, and [spoiler alert] bridging the gap between humanity and the divine.

His unromanced card, The Tower, is all about chaos, ruin, and generally fcuking sh1t up. RUUUUN WHILE YOU CAN.

Well, I wouldn't it's entirely negative. It could also be about revelation and positive change at great costs. Revolutions are always messy, but perhaps they're sometimes worth it. I didn't romance him, (was playing a guy) but I liked the way his arc played out and Tower seems very appropriate given his final, friendship conversation with the Inquisitor. He'll keep trying, even if things haven't yet worked out...

True - it could also be referring, not to the cataclysmic changes he'll bring about, but to a more personal transformation. The world he sees is so unlike the world he wanted, so his headspace has gotta be... weird, right now.

But I'm just saying, I've never once made a happy face when The Tower showed up during a reading, lmao.
