Ok, recently I got to the point in the game where Varric introduces Hawke to the Inquisitor.

I noticed that there were two different options on how he/she could be introduced, in which the choices were to either have the default Hawke or a customized Hawke.

That being said! I think I know how the Warden could return in Dragon Age Inquisition.

That of course would be having a specific DLC for him or her, which would be cool.

OR just a simple cameo appearance in a future DLC as well, assuming that your Warden became monarch alongside either Anora or Alistair.

Now given that Dragon Age Keep allows you to start over when it comes to choices you made, including what race and gender your Warden was, all that Bioware would have to do is apply the same thing to the Warden that they did with Hawke when they had him/her reintroduced. That of course being to either have the default Warden that we saw in Dragon Age Keep or a customized Warden. And like with Inquisitor, who only has two default voices to choose from (Four if you include both genders), one British and one American. They could just do the same thing for the Warden as well if he or she were to make an appearance. It's that simple!

SIDE NOTE: Depending on the choices, since I my warden was a human mage that romanced Morrigan, I would most certainly love a DLC that would involve the Warden and this calling with Morrigan coming along to help find the Warden. Or if you romanced Leliana, the same thing could apply. As for others such as Zevran, Alistair or Anora, they could either write to the Inquisitor or meet with him or her and ask for a favor, which would be finding the Warden and help him or her stop "The Calling".

I would love it if Bioware were to respond to this thread btw.

In the meantime, tell me what you all think everyone! :D

I don't think you'll physically see your warden with an actual role in game. It's not the physical look, that can indeed be catered for to an extent but the biggest and most jarring difference for a lot of people would be switching from silent to voiced character, there are just too many possible variances as to how people played their wardens to all of a sudden make people choose between 1 of 3 set personality types ala Hawke, which is what they would pretty much end up having to do. It's either that or as a cameo, they would stand there and basically say nothing. Bioware have already said that voiced characters are here to stay, so a silent warden has no place anymore except for mentions and notes :)

One of the biggest reasons IMO why I doubt we are going to see hawke or the Warden again is because we are going North in the next games. The devs have stated they want to go to the northern lands, Tevinter, Rivian, the Qun, Antiva and so on. All of the action before took place into the south, Orlais/Ferelden and the free marches. Keep in mind that the Warden's story is over, he/she does exist and still is important but there story is done. Add into the fact that each new game has you playing as a new character. I look foreward to playing someone from tevinter :)

so in short: your warden is not returning.

I do wonder how long it will take for during DA4's production for people to go "i want to play as my inquistor, not this new character"

You do realize that the Inquisitor has multiple voices as well right. They could just use two default voices for the Warden (one for male and one for female) if he or she were to make an appearance. Just saying. :)

but that is not the voice my warden would have used! people will complain.

But I think it is best to let it go. The warden's story is over.

I doubt that people will complain about something like that. Also, I edited my post that you quoted, so you might want to re-read it.

Glad that Hawke's story is over now btw. Hopefully we will never see that character again!!

I hope Hawke becomes a constant character in the Dragon Age series, and raises herself(himself) to godhood.

Whining about Hawke isn't a great way to make a case for more Warden, you know.

Oh haha! Seriously?  -_-

I wasn't whining about Hawke. I was just giving my two cents on the character. ^_^  No, if I were to be whining about Hawke? Trust me you would know. I could label so many reasons why I do not like that character in an awful lot of minutes. Namely when it came to Hawke in Dragon Age II, but I won't!  B)

I'm not sure if that is possible for character in the story to achieve. lol. But I get what you are saying. Maybe both the Warden and Hawke's stories aren't yet done and I do hope that Bioware does something along the lines of a DLC that involves all three of them, The Inquisitor, Hawke and the Warden!

Personally I'd rather not see my warden return in person. I'd like to know what happened to her as she seemed to up and disappear, but I'd rather she didn't make an appearance, too much could go wrong there. A letter from her perhaps, or a brief cameo in the distance in a non-speaking role maybe. The difference with Hawke and the Warden is that the Warden has no set personality or voice.

Well, if you romanced morrigan, she mentions The Warden went to find a cure for the darkspawn blood that kills every warden early.

They would make a DLC about that story (which wouldnt require the Warden to romance morrigan or even be alive) and do a cameo of him at the end said DLC.

Personally i would love to see something like "You kill the big bad darkspawn related enemy and find cure, everyone is celebrating and you just see The Warden in the distance (with his love interest). That would be kinda like his/her final departure from the series.

Personally, i would just love a scene of him, Morrigan and their son together, since i felt kinda annoyed i didint get that at the end of Witch's Hunt.

That or the fact that in DA:O the warden actually had a voice selector and we can use that as his voice. Sure, its only the combat voice, but still, it would work and we could have a full comeback of the Warden.

The Warden's story is super not over, after Witch Hunt it's super clear we're supposed to see him or her again (though that was probably covered in DA:I). I think we will see the Warden again, not play as them for a game again but they'll be there along with the Inquisitor and Hawke.

Damn. I guess romancing Alistair means nobody tells me what happens to my warden, That's actually a bit disappointing.

That's exactly the kind of DLC I was thinking of! Please Bioware make it happen!

No mention at all?

Morrigan has like 3 or so "Ask me about" options where she mentions the Warden, she even says she fully intends to rejoin "Her Warden" once the inquisition stuff is done.

Alistair doesnt even mentions a romanced Warden? thats harsh of him...

I would honestly like the Warden to have some sort of appearance. It wouldn't need to be a DLC, anything would work really. Even like an interactive comic or something would be completely amazing. I would like to learn more about this mission to end the Calling, but if it doesn't happen I guess I'd be fine.

That can't be right! I need to check up on that one. If what you say is correct though, then that is harsh of him.

I know that I am late replying to this comment, but I agree. Although a DLC involving him/her would be nice though. :)
