After I did the War Table quest involving the Warden, the game made it pretty clear he/she is not returning to the universe in pixelated form.

Kind of sad, but the Warden's story is pretty much done if there's an option of being dead in the main game that they were PC of. I doubt Dragon Age is going through another Blight any time soon. I mean that was pretty explored in the first game. I want to see the next big, amazing but not so far-fetched crisis in the universe.

Plus with the foreshadowing from Inquisition, I don't think the next one is going to be specifically about the Blight.

Spoilers about the Warden (and the Order in the epilogue) below - wouldn't read this if you haven't finished the game or done that war table op.

At any rate, you never know - maybe they could do a story DLC or something small vis-vis the cure; after all, BW has mentioned doing smaller DLC, rather than major expansion packs. Frankly, my Warden probably ought to have looked up Fiona (who somehow managed to somehow be cured of the Taint and who is currently sitting in my Inquisitor's library) and/or checked up on Avernus who, last I recall, should have been busy researching his butt off. I do believe that the Wardens may be dealing with another crisis, which I'm saying because of the epilogue. It seemed to indicate that something weird is going on at Weisshaupt. At least, when it said that all communication from Weisshaupt had just stopped and that no one had heard from Hawke who was supposed to have been on her way to Weisshaupt...it seemed pretty strange

Hence, why Bioware should do a DLC involving the grey wardens with The Warden (Hero of Ferelden) and whoever he/she romanced making an appearance, (unless your Warden is dead of course). :)

Bioware will actually work on something involving the Calling and the Hero of Ferelden, its nothing like anyone imagined and is declared worse than DA2. 100%

Worse than DA2? I don't even think that is even possible. Nothing can get worse than DA2, let alone by 100%. lol

Hopefully Bioware will work on a major DLC involving the Calling with The Warden (Hero of Ferelden) and whoever he/she romanced along with Fiona (depending on choices via Keep, etc) a few of the Warden Commanders making an appearance as I have said before.

Well, Mark Darrah already said this at Edmonton Expo.: "Warden? We are not bringing back the Warden for DA:I....sort of". That does not mean he will not come back at all. They might still have plans for him....so, I´m not giving up the possibility of a Warden/Hero of Ferelden DLC. David Gaider also confirmed that they considered to bring the Warden back for DA:I, where you could customize his/her appearance......But chose not to....

There might be still hope, that they are saving him for a DLC.

Bioware, please make this happen. We need our Warden back.....please.

I wanted the warden to show up as a secret boss or something. Such as if the inquisitor went into the black city and found the warden there taken over by the taint. That way the warden wouldn't need a voice, and it would be an epic showdown without making the plot too complex (since its just a boss, no quest or anything that impacts the rest of the game).

I for one really like the idea of a dlc about the calling and finding a way to combat it with the warden and li included. If done right I think it would be epic ^^

I would without a doubt pay for a Warden dlc. (and no I'm not one of these people who think the Warden should be the focus of the franchise ala Shepard.) With all of the things going on with the Wardens in Inquisition it's the perfect time to bring the Warden back. Also unless the Warden romanced Morrigan or got the U.S ending their was very little closure, a Warden expansion could change that.

I hope they will not destroy our characters more they already pushed onto wardens own personality traits and motives in dai that are completly unfitting for some of my wardens.

Damn. I guess romancing Alistair means nobody tells me what happens to my warden, That's actually a bit disappointing.

There is a mission on the war table to find out the warden's whereabouts

I hope they create a DLC with a silent Warden protagonist. Probably won't happen... maybe a DLC for DA:O? The toolset is still there after all.

I thought the opposite, The Calling seems like quite a big deal and maybe a DLC was coming. I mean it would have been much easier to kill off the Warden. There are ways to get around the complications of bringing him/her back like keeping them silent, choosing a 'personality' if you did have them speak and recording several voice actors.

Hard but not impossible. Not everyone would be satisfied, and if your Warden died then substitute him like they did if Loghain was not a Warden and Alistair was king = Stroud.

I'd honestly rather not the Warden come back, because anyone and everyone who played Origins will not recognize their Warden in a modernized game where they would have to act and speak as per the improved narrative presentation of Bioware games. Personally I would love it, but I know a large group of Warden fans will not be able to look passed the inconsistencies and instead bring their pitchforks to Bioware as is the custom these days. I swear the people who are vying for a Warden return will be the first ones to complain and nitpick about everything if it ever actually happens.

Just look at the whole debacle over "But my Hawke was a bloodmage! Why is he badmouthing blood mages?!?! GG Bioware, **** writing."

I can't even fathom what would happen. "But my Warden was a blood mage/arcane warrior/battle mage and he's wearing a robe and attacking with a staff!!! WTF Bioware!"

I saw Hawke as their experiment in using who was once a PC into a NPC. I don't know if it went well, but it got the job done in terms of moving the story along. I guess using the Warden was their means to say the Grey Wardens are not out of the picture yet, and something something with the Calling.

Regarding about whether your character is a blood Mage or not, didn't bioware say about adding more things in Keep? They could add those options too unless I heard wrong about them adding more choices in Keep.

It wouldn't be hard to do the warden, just use the creator minus qunari. Some people may complain I can't make my warden look right, but that's new engines. I really thought they would have a glimpse since they used a creator for Hawke, but DLC for the warden or even a 5-10 hour expansion featuring them I think would sell great. Many people still talk about the warden and their story, I just can't see Bioware much less EA passing up a money chance like this.

God I hope so too!! It would be one of the greatest things Bioware could do on regards to a Dragon Age DLC!!

I completely agree with this! Even my Warden romanced Morrigan, which hopefully she along with our son Kieran would return in the DLC as well. The same thing could apply for any other character your Warden romanced as well.

I honestly wish there was a DLC including my Warden, and I wish that she could finally unite with Alistair. The scene in which he talks about her is so adorable, lovely and heartwarming that it has to be done. Leliana speaks about the Warden in the same way, so... I just can't imagine the two being separated for so long. I've done everything to keep them together, and if Bioware destroys my efforts, then... bye bye DA.

Late replying to this, but I hope for the same thing! A DLC that would have The Warden make an appearance (depending on choices) and the character he or she romanced making an appearance in it as well would be great!  :)

I'm not sure if that is possible for character in the story to achieve. lol. But I get what you are saying. Maybe both the Warden and Hawke's stories aren't yet done and I do hope that Bioware does something along the lines of a DLC that involves all three of them, The Inquisitor, Hawke and the Warden!

This would be doable as long as people realized that the three could never meet in game as you wouldn't be able to be player for more than one at once without it getting odd. But if the story was one that was conducive to each being in a different part of the world and working on a separate task, I see know reason why it couldn't happen. The warden already has a stand in for the times when they made the sacrifice and the same thing could work for any other unavailable former player character. Of course, they'd have to have a very particular story to tell for this to work.
