This would be doable as long as people realized that the three could never meet in game as you wouldn't be able to be player for more than one at once without it getting odd. But if the story was one that was conducive to each being in a different part of the world and working on a separate task, I see know reason why it couldn't happen. The warden already has a stand in for the times when they made the sacrifice and the same thing could work for any other unavailable former player character. Of course, they'd have to have a very particular story to tell for this to work.

Very late replying to this comment, but I am not sure what to say on regards to this one.

Personally I'd rather not see my warden return in person. I'd like to know what happened to her as she seemed to up and disappear, but I'd rather she didn't make an appearance, too much could go wrong there. A letter from her perhaps, or a brief cameo in the distance in a non-speaking role maybe. The difference with Hawke and the Warden is that the Warden has no set personality or voice.

I mentioned before on another thread that the warden should have a larger role by text, like in the main game we get a letter from the warden we could have regular updates on what they are doing and to finish it off there LI could send us a letter to say all is well and they are backtogether

Meh.. I'm not sure if that would satisfy people that much. A DLC at the very least would be nice! :)

I feel like it is leading up to a DLC involving The Calling. Maybe not, but because it's never resolved and only introduced in this game, I feel like they are testing the waters with using The Warden.

Well, clearly it isn't, "done" anymore as they are still doing stuff and we are getting updates on it.

I agree! Hopefully they are leading up to a DLC involving the calling with the Warden (depending on choices) along with whoever he/she romanced making an appearance as well as I have said before. :)

But without a doubt they are testing the waters with the warden and definitely give a heavy mention of his presence in the game, which again depending on choices, could ultimately lead into him making an appearance in a DLC or something.  ^_^

Amen!   ^_^

The sad thing is that the concensus of fans not liking the warden is because the warden had no voice and no expression in DAO so just fix that with a voice selection and the warden will be a favorite of all fans

Makes me wonder if the devs intended the Warden to appear in DAI then decided to yank him last minute. Weird that he/she wasnt affected by the calling that was affecting the other Wardens.

I wonder if he was supposed to be the Warden Commander that decided to sacrifice lives or the Stroud/Alistair/Loghain replacement. Big backlash if he/she was intended to be the Warden Commander. Maybe less of a problem if he/she was the replacement, that choice wouldnt be a choice since I'm betting everyone would be sacrificing Hawke. lol

The fans don't hate The Warden at all. I do not know where you are getting that from, most fans love The Warden and seem to dislike Hawke the most. The Inquisitor is of course everyone's favorite because he/she has a voice and can be multiple races just like with DAO.  :)

The second part of what you said is exactly what I was talking about in my first post and throughout this entire thread. If The Warden were to return, then most definitely they should give him or her two default voices to choose from as well as the option to customize he/she like how people were able to do with Hawke in DAI. I honestly do not see why that could not happen.  -_-

Someone on this thread commented on here earlier and gave out information about how the devs did intend to have The Hero of Ferelden/Warden Commander make an appearance in DAI, but scrapped it at the last minute.

If that is true, hopefully they will correct that mistake with a DLC involving the Grey Wardens with The Hero of Ferelden/Warden Commander making an appearance depending on choices.

My advice is better we bring warden back or hawke again to the next series or dragon age, well I do not mind if they are just character that you cannot recruit or controlled in the series but they must  put the conclusion of their stories. I believe there are so many Interesting stories for them to be appeared again once more in the next  dragon age series, for example the main antagonist for the next series is our warden commander who got corrupted  by the calling ( doesnt matter if she/he is dead  in the previous choices or from the previous series they can be ressurrected again as the wraith or something similar to that) or the warden would coming back to help the main character in the next series  same like what happen with hawke in dragon age Inquisition. For Hawk character they can bring him back anytime whether if you left him behind in the fade ( he probably could survived because of his bloodline power) or he died for some unimportant reason. Bioware must put up the conclusion for each the main characters in their series once more. or they can make DLCs for each main character to be played again as the main character in the next series :)   I love my warden and hawk and my inquisition as well, I do not want any of them disappeared  from the stories yet, well i love morrigan too she is such a  goddess

Whether it's Hawke or The Warden contact, I think by the end of the game they bump into the HoF and help to find a possible cure for the calling.

THE WARDEN'S STORY IS NOT YET OVER............... PERIOD! [LIKE ALOT]

Why do we think we need to bring back the Warden? Simply because its not yet over....

BioWare! You guys do know that all this love for the Warden is a really good sign that you guys really made a character that stands out! You guys made us care for our Warden like alot! [ that's a big accomplishment for a damn video game character ] It would be kind of a waste to just say " The Warden's story is done" and you put him in the sidelines and stuff....... Where did our hardwork in order to make a hero go?

Also to the post above, if you meant let the Warden rest... nope, the Warden can only rest when he's dead with his love! [ or be alive with his love ]

Also, alot of posts have been going on who is the strongest protagonist in the trilogy and the biggest question would be, how strong did the Warden become over the years or what the hell has he been doing.......

Although Fernando Melo said they weren't bringing back the Warden in DAI, he could be up for a new DA

If there are people who let their Warden get killed then they can't play it ................. or give them a new warden who is accompanying the others

[ Still though, who would let their Warden get killed ( I know some of you would say " ULTIMATE SACRIFICE! " but you could've done the world alot more good when you're alive with your immense skill in everything and stuff ) ]

This is not an innovative idea at all.

I can assure you BioWare thought of it and almost certainly passed it around a long while ago.

That's pretty debatable.

I would imagine the Warden 'stands out' as a self-projection of the player far more than a character with intrinsic compelling qualities.

it would not work because the Warden can be dead in DAO. they are not going to do a DLC whereby the main story involves a character that can be dead in their canon. some players are so struck to their own canon they refused to accept anything else.

asking Bioware to reverse their choice (e.g. not allowing to select they died) will cause people to riot. Just look at the backslash for for Leliana and Anders (and they are characters that u don't see their burial unlike your warden).

Sorry, I don't think it would work either.

Here's why. My Warden cared deeply about the downtrodden, especially her own people. Having defeated the immediate threat of the Archdemon (and the Architect), she would be fighting for equal rights, organising rebellions, fighting oppressors, and protecting her cousin Shianni from their enemies. Instead, in DA:I I hear that she's out looking for a cure for her greywardenitis and has left Shianni and the city elves to their own devices. That's a generic Warden, not MY warden.

There are, what, 12 possible origins for the Warden? And each of us has their own take on theirs. In order to do justice to our characters they would have to come up with about a dozen different 'Where are they now?' scenarios. A female Cousland can be Queen of Ferelden! She's not going to be up to the same thing as a dwarf commoner. That would be a massive labour, and... they're not going to do that. They have only so many resources, so many people working so many hours and so on.

I do miss my Warden and I wish they had continued the ambitious project that began with DA:O, but that ship has sailed.

Op..You missed the point about why it's so hard to bring the warden back. It has nothing about background, actions, looks or voice. It's about their personality. The warden has a wide set of personality as a pc...While Hawke has 3 variations to work off. That's the issue.

Beforehand, I thought the Warden was the Chuck Norris of Thedas. Now, I think he is more like Elvis Presley.

Not saying that I want this, but that particular issue is fixed with awakening. If your hero of ferelden is dead, the orlesian warden takes his/her place. They did this with the whole Alistair/Loghain/Stroud scenario, why not here? You could use the orlesian warden for witch hunt if you wanted, so in theory the orlesian warden could be on the same mission as the hero of ferelden we just don't have any reason to know about it. Of course that's all speculation, but the possibility isn't nonexistent.

While I don't personally want the warden to come back for the same reasons as the hawke and blood magic debacle, I can still see BioWare going this route as there is A LOT of potential in a story where the inquisitor goes off to foreign areas to find a cure for the calling and maybe discover more about the history of thedas from these unexplored areas with big revelations about what we thought we knew. Add the return of the hero of ferelden to that mix and quite a few people will eat that DLC up.

Why people feel that it would be hard to give the Warden a voice is beyond me.

Think back. Is it that long that anyone has created a Warden in Origins, already??

You could choose from voice samples there, too. Just get some actors that go with these and make them the sample voices for the Warden again.

Bioware has done great things in their long life of making these sort of games.

So I think it is not impossible to put in an option on what sort of characteristic (diplomatic, lawful, quirky, humorous, forceful, etc.) the Warden had for players to choose from and record some voice samples with actors that fit the bill of the old voice samples we had in Origins.

The idea with the DLC is really awesome. I would love to have the Warden take more action in this one, because it goes against a Darkspawn Magister after all. One that controls mages and Grey Wardens alike. How could he/she ignore that??

Same goes for all the memorable characters we had so far. Most of them are just notes and letters from the War Table, which in my opinion is pretty lazy for some of them. We never hear of Shale, Wynne or Oghren again and even Zevran is not heard of again if you choose to have him romance the Warden.

Sten gets to be Arishok, but we never actually get to see him in that role. All we hear of him is a conversation between Bull and Varric.

Bioware, please. Don't let the potential of all these memorable characters go to waste. You didn't do so in Mass Effect, why let it happen in DA Inquisition?

If it is about money/the budget, just put up a patrion page or a kickstarter project for your fans to help you making a DLC of such proportions. We would gladly do so if it could bring back the glory of all DA titles to help with a War that literally is placed upon the very world these people tried to protect.
