It changed, after I completed the quest with his father... I reunited them. The card DOES NOT look good... There is a snake poised to bite him now. Did I make the wrong decision? I thought his father was actually regretful, and honestly wanted to be able to talk with his son again, but if this decision leads to Dorian making the wrong decisions later on, I'll go back and redo it.

So, does anyone know why it changed, and if it is good/bad?

The cards can change after you do the personal quests. I did that with Iron Bull, and (I assume) the others do too.

I don't know if it's good or bad, though

Note first that I haven't finished the game yet, even if I'm really close to its end. I did Dorian's romance, and I had that card too. I also reunited him with his father. It changed again after his romance quest, and he seems really in love with my inquisitor (it is a really sweet romance).

Mine changed him to be riding on a horse looking all gallant. I just had him at least speak to his father. But I don't think they reconciled. Its kinda like the equivalent of "hardening" a companion.

I had Cole, Dorian, Varric and Iron Bull's cards all change when I finished their companion quests.

Spoiler

I will have to take screen shots of what they look like, cause I'm horrible at describing what they look like lol

The card you get when you romance him is really beautiful, isn't it?

These are what my cards were at the end of the game. The only ones that I actually did their personal quests. Sera I couldn't do, it was bugged. And I didn't care enough about Vivi to do hers(we didn't get a long). Oh and Blackwall I never got his *shrug*:

Casandra changed for me to her being off the horse holding Her hand in the hilt of her sword or something similar. Happened after i romanced her.

Cole's changed for me when I made him more spirit into a white mist thing.

Yes, it is! ^^

So, I've ended the game, and Dorian stayed with me, so, don't worry ! :)

So I've romanced Dorian and I'm quite close to the end of the game and I've only recently learned the romance card for him is different than what I have. You see, my tarot card is him holding out a flower with a snake climbing on his body. He's also naked and there's a hand covering a bit of his body. I've checked the wiki and it says that's his second card but not his romance card. If I've done something wrong I'm not sure there's any going back considering I've got about 50 hours in from the point of his personal quest. I mean, I gave him the amulet and everything but I also(This may be completely unrelated) can't seem to get any approval with him anymore. I can get disapproval but not approval. Also the card I have is definitely not the one showed on this post already.

If anyone could find out why I have that card and not his romance card that'd be great.

@above: Do you refer to this card?
Spoiler

As I understand it, that's his romance card.

Complete his quest non-romance, and it changes to him on horseback. I do not think it matters whether you reunite him with his father or not. On one playthrough I got them to talk (though I ended with "Are you alright?" rather than "Forgive him" or anything back at Skyhold), and I got the same card as when I just left early without them talking.

And, yeah, Cole's does change whatever choice you make in his quest, though which card you get depends on the choice.
Spoiler

To the OP: from finishing the game, from what I saw reuniting or dividing his father and him does not really change Dorian's behaviour or bite him in the arse.
